Used this gimbal to shoot a last minute unplanned promotional music video for my wife S.Marlo: Ain’t Got Forever. We went out last Tuesday and filmed using a Sony A7S2 for 1 1/2 hrs driving around our neighborhood looking for places where we could just post up and record a quick take of her singing the song , maybe at most 10minutes per location... just running from one location to the next so that we wouldnt get cited by the local law enforcement! My wife edited the clips the same day.. so it was less than 8 hrs total for the entire project. Overall the moving shots using the Sony and the gimbalturned out really good. Use the Crane with a Lumix GH5 and it works well with a variety of lens. Super easy to set up. Can take a bit of extra weight too (Sennheiser AVX) Simple learning curve. Great battery life. Well-made carrying case. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

Use it with my GH5. Easy set up. Added a great dynamic feel to my videos. Following a person down a isle was so smooth. For the price, it was a great addition to my kit. Lloyd

This is a nice, handy gimbal, however, the support for downloads and updates is awful. Some proprietary aspects to the design such as cables that connect assessories look like micro usb but aren't. Poorly translated tutorials and instructions make for a very confusing and frustrating experience. Phone app seems to be only simi-functional.

I watched many videos prior to purchasing the product, and the reviews and videos seemed to match the product description and capabilities! It is a great gimbal for producing professional video quality.

Excellent 3 axis gimbal. I shoot with the GH5 and this is one of the only gimbals on the market that allows for me to flip open the camera screen to the left of the camera and still be balanced. Easy to balance once you understand the dynamics of bringing each axis to as close to zero center of gravity. Highly recommended!

Made for small cameras.. but it works with my Sonys and also my Canon 5D Mk2 and 5D Mk4. Mainly use on small camera, but it works great out of the box. Set up take practice, but works flawlessly in different modes.

I had to watch a few videos on YouTube to figure out how to exactly level it to the 3 axis. But once I got that figured out it works great! I tried to buy some cheap extra batteries for it (The videos all said it came with an extra set of batteries...mine only came with one set.) but beware that even though other batteries look the same, they don't always work. Get the white ones that look like the ones that came with it and save some trouble.

Overall a great performance like Advertised In the videos But at one point Switching around in a low angle the platform touches the back of the Gimbal And stays stocked.

So once you get it balanced the first time (took me about a half hour) you will need to mess with it for about 10 minutes each time you attach the camera. Once it's balanced though, Wow! The quality is amazing! I'm using it with a GH5 with the Leica 12-60mm lens with the dual stabilization on. When you use that with this crane it's beyond amazing! Rock steady footage that will make you smile!

The Crane is extremely easy to setup and well worth the money. I've had zero issues using it with the GH5 and 12-60mm Leica lens. I can flip out the GH5 screen and the crane has no problem balancing. I highly recommend this gimbal. The video you can capture is incredibly stable. You only have to focus on filming and not worry about how much you move or how fast. On a side note; Adorama gives great customer service.

The gimbal was dead easy to balance and use. The joystick could have more sweep for better fine control of motion but it is amazing for the price. Very stable when used with a GH4. The three operational modes could use a cheap indicator for the current mode (3 led's would do). Mode changing is easy to do by mistake, being controlled by pushing on the end of a joystick that also controls gimbal motion when moved from side to side and up and down. All joystick motions are small on a slightly difficult to grip handle. I also could not get the unit to easily sweep from low to high position without interfering with itself but the positive trade-off is less weight. Longer arms with more clearance would add weight. Not a big gripe and probably very camera and user (in)experience dependent. The balancing slides could use threaded adjusters for fine adjustment. Like most gimbals, they are a bit fiddly due to "stiction", the tendency for something pushed, to resist and then suddenly lurch. In trade, that would add a little price and a tiny amount of weight. There was an odd failing of the fairly nice case. Out of the box, of the two fairly robust hinges, only one had the hinge pin installed. Odd. It was not rattling around in the packaging or extremely sparse padding from shipment. With the other hinge and two latches being fairly stout, it is not surprising that it did not spill its contents during shipment in a large box with little padding. It bodes well for fully assembled cases! The serious problem is after the first use, there was a strong smell of burned circuit board when unscrewing the battery compartment for storage in the case. This exposes the circuit board compartment to the air. The motors never got even slightly warm; I had been checking to be sure that balance or other issues were not risking a problem. The batteries lost little charge in about 1 hour of use, so I suspect it was not overuse/abuse and is instead the lack of a heatsink on the motor controlling circuit. A couple subsequent uses did not reveal any heavy current draw or other reason for the ongoing smell. I do a lot of fiddling with electronics and the smell is both absolutely distinctive and a very bad sign. Worse, I used the Zhiyun web site to express my concern and heard nothing back. It is possible that I made a mistake in the email process and will try again. I will try to report what happens as this needs to be corrected before going out of warranty and roasting its gizzard. It is frustrating that the unit is light, well machined, very stable and has surprising battery life, yet smelling of fairly inevitable and expensive bad news.

I'm thrilled to have this capability now. A must have for any shoot.

Great price and quality. Takes some practice to get used to the joystick and handle panning sensitivity but you get incredibly smooth footage. For even smoother footage I would incorporate "ninja walking" but running with the Zhiyun Crane will still produce very smooth results. Highly recommend if your rig is within the weight limit.
