I haven't been able to put it to much practical use yet. But in tinkering, it seems like a fantastic light to use in a varied amount of situations.

I initially picked up two of these lights for their portability / compact size, intending on using them for my animation setup. Upon testing, I was pleasantly surprised at how powerful these little lights are. The control functions are easy to use and the amount of control over brightness & color temperature makes this light very versatile for video work (especially doc work). Not to mention it?s easy to mount onto any of my tripods/stands, and the included diffusion filters are decent. My only issue is the USB-C power cord is very short, but overall the entire kit has been such a pleasant surprise (I may even pick up another one!)

for the price i bought 2. the plastic case, and in particular the 1/4-20 holes doesn?t inspire much confidence this will last a long time as a camera light but for the price if it lasts a year that was ok. its also not weather sealed so understand what it is. color overall seems good - not magenta like some other lights in the same price range.

For a small light it is really bright. I purchased a competing company?s light but it did not come with the many options this has. This can be powered with a battery (common Sony battery), through USB or D tap. Comes with a nice traveling case and diffusers. I highly recommend this light.

I use this as a key light at my desk for video conferencing. It's plenty bright I would like it to be a bit softer. It's made of plastic but I don't need the durability for how I'm using it. Good value!

Great light. I’ve only used it with usb power and from what I here it is even brighter when you use the Sony batteries. A bit “plasticky” though. Probably won’t survive a good beating.

I have been using this light in a small studio setup for about a month, and I absolutely love it! The Aputure AL-F7 can be used as a key light, a fill light, and hair light. Buy three of these awesome little lights, and you’ll have the perfect lighting setup for travel documentary filmmaking, small studios, and pretty much any situation where you need great lighting in a small form factor. I highly recommend the Aputure AL-F7.

I purchase this light to add some on camera lights for my BMPCC 4k but before I realized the camera can handle most low light shooting. I guess I will use it on my GH4.

Mobile but strong light. Digital scale makes brightness and temperature reproducable. Ideal for my many -nterview -in-the-same-spot tasks.

Wonderful little light, especially for MACRO and small subject work. I primarily bought this for small object video work and MACRO, but have used it for various applications. Being able to adjust both intensity and color temperature are a plus. I use it on camera, on a articulating arm and a small light stand. I consider this well built, even though it's not a metal case. If your careful and not a "Bull in a China Shop" it should last for years.. I've seen so many idiots abuse their gear over my career. The light weight and affordable price make this an excellent buy!

Let me start by saying this is a really bright little light! They made sure the brightest output on this light falls at 5500K... that's brilliant! Will I ever use it at 9500K? Most likely not, but the option is nice.It's light weight, it packs a punch, the quality of light is what you expect from Aputure. Very clean light at CRI 95+. Although I'm already a fan of Aputure one of the main reasons I got 2 of these lights is because of the USB power option. It is about 1 stop dimmer than with a battery, but that option is great! The 45 degree beam angle is also something I personally like, I like the light fall off.It's very affordable for the quality you get. VERY! I plan on buying more.- Clean light- Great price- Flexible power options - BrightI love LED lights on set even if I'm using strobes. It makes for great BTS videos.

I bought 3 F7s love them. The defuser is working well love the color adjustment also I can set up a 3 light system Or all 3 and shoot thru on umbrella softbox I’m recommending it highly

WIth the full output of all LEDs at 5600k, plus the ability to switch to 3200k is amazing. The output is impressive and the size is easily packable. Amazing fill or hair light, and can be used as a key in a pinch. Get it.

The Aputure Amaran is a solid small light, for a great prize. Good color, bright light, and compact. It comes with a great ball mount and a nice little carrying case.

This light is simply awesome! It comes with 2 stengths of diffusion and a great mount for a camera hot shoe or can connect it to a mic stand/C stand. It is very bright and works well with a USB power bank I have. I highly recommend this product.
