Awesome super tele zoom for the Sony A7 IV

This is the biggest and heaviest lens I presently own. I immediately updated the firmware from version 2.0 to 3.0 and took advantage of the improved OSS and auto focus tracking. The build, IQ, and value for money is top notch in my book. I did consider either the Sigma 60-600 DG DN or the Sony 200-600, but the price was out of my range. One negative is the massive size and weight. It's what i expected and was not a deal breaker. This lens is complimenting my Tamron 35-150 2-2.8 and Tamron 50-400 4.5-6.3, two stellar lenses as well.

Excellent build

An absolute performer on my Sony A7 III. It's a heavier lens that makes up for it with (IMO) fast focusing and excellent image quality.

Fantastic! Maybe the best lens of all time in this price area. Just go buy it!!

So far after my Sony a7rii this is my best purchase of all time for my photography. Fantastically super sharp really all throughout the focal range. The colors are very realistic, and contrast is great as well. With all the add-ons you cannot beat this value. The only very small issue was the filters do not fit this lens. I think when they put together the package it was for the contempory lens which is 95mm. The sport version is 105mm so the filters are only useful for smaller than 95mm. I am super excited to go shoot some owls and other raptors.

Sigma 150-600mm Sports Combo

I'm using this lens on a Sony A7III and the "birds-in-flight" performance is absolutely incredible. The stabilization works amazingly well and I've found myself using "Setting 1" for everything. You can see the image stabilize as soon as you press your focus button (I use back-button focus). The tripod is very strong and easily handles the weight of the camera/lens combination and it's great that it can also convert into a monopod. This comes in handy when you plan to be out taking pictures for quite a while. I've only used the UV filter from the filter kit, primarily just as a protector for the lens.

Really wonderful sports lens especially for the price!

I work for a professional sports team and we pair this lens with a Sony FX6 to capture our on field action shots. The focal length is great and can reach across the length of the field well. Would recommend for anyone looking for a versatile sports lens on a budget.

My new favorite lens

One of the best purchases I've made. Ultra sharp images, superior zoom, very good build quality. It is on the heavier side (~10lbs), but I don't mind as I usually have it on a tripod. The only improvement I would have liked is for better stabilization, as it can get a bit shaky at 600mm when taking video or in low light. Would highly recommend.

Worth it - you won't regret this purchase

Love the range of 150-600 & the compression/bokeh this causes. A bit tough to move with and a bit clunky when fully extended, but love how quick this is... especially when vs adapted lens. Can't wait to try this out some more. Don't be put off by the aperture.

Great super telephoto lens

This is the first time I've owned such a super telephoto lens and it is awesome! It's pretty well built and is heavy! But does the job really well and is tack sharp! I feel like i'm holding a bazooka and it's fun to capture with this guy. The only drawback I'd say is lack of teleconverter. It would be really awesome if there's an option for one to increase the focal length.

Love it

I love this lens. Yes it's heavy but worth it. I haven't tested fully yet. Some photos seem to be a bit soft at 600mm. But not sure if it's me or the lens yet. Overall though, it took very clear photos and I was very happy with the results

Amazing

Nature photography with me SONY 70-200mm F4 was endlessly frustrating - focusing, exposure and framing - none of these were as I hoped for or expected when I bought that lens. And of course, working at a distance or shooting small birds like finches it?s so difficult when you can?t get close enough to the subject and your lens doesn?t have the reach. The Sony is a decent lens, but I wish I had waited and bought better. If Sigma had made one for my Sony a7iii camera, I would?ve bought that, but they don?t and I can?t afford the G master lenses. This lines was literally the answer to my prayers. Phone first part on the camera and took him at a purple finch in the yard, what a revelation! The finch filled a considerable part of the frame and the colors and brightness in the view finder were wonderful. The next big surprise? the best one ? was the auto focus. AF on the Sony lens was hesitant and unsteady. On the sigma 150?600, auto focus is lightning fast and razor sharp. Buy this!

I love the lens.

I love this lens. The only thing that concerns me is that there is a little slop in the twist when you lock the it down mounting it on the camera. But all ofnthe electronics work fine....

Extremely happy

The Sigma 150-600mm Sport lens is a fantastic lens. I did a lot of research before buying and I am not disappointed. It has great optics, is very responsive and works great on my Sony. The price was terrific with the $100 off plus I purchased the bundle which gave me a tripod, lens care kit and filters. A fantastic lens and deal. I would recommend it to anyone that is doing wildlife or sports photography.

Great sharp lens

This is a great sharp lens. It is heavy but I am an older shooter(over 70) so a bit of the "it is heavy" is due to my age. It only focuses close when at 150mm. I wish it focuses at a close point at 600mm but it is about 11'. I also have the Sigma 100-400 and if put on my Sony a6500 APc body and that makes it a 600mm lens that close focuses at about 6'. Sharpness on both are extremely good but not extremely fast if on single point focus. It also hunts a lot even when on the proper settings of focus limitations are used correctly. I prefer the bigger lens{150-600) as I'd rather have the FF bigger sensor. Do love the lens though for my type of shooting.

Fantastic Zoom Lens

I just purchased this great lens from Adorama and I must admit that it is fantastic. Being a beginner in mirrorless cameras, I find it very easy to use. After I mounted it to my tripod and took a few shots with my Sony a6400 and the distance it gave me were fantastic. At a great price not to mention it was well worth the money I spent.

Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG DN.

Introducing the SIGMA 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS | Sports, a powerful ultra-telephoto zoom and the first ever Sports line lens for mirrorless systems. This portable and practical optic revolutionizes the way mirrorless users capture wildlife, motorsport and other fast-action subjects.

The 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS | Sports is SIGMA Sports line's first ultra-telephoto zoom lens, designed from the ground up specifically for full-frame mirrorless cameras. It offers outstanding levels of performance, functionality, and build quality required for ultra-telephoto shooting in the most demanding situations.

Image quality is exceptional, with ultra-high-performance glass capable of delivering ultra-sharp results even on the highest resolution cameras. The lens displays beautiful bokeh throughout its zoom range, and optical aberrations are kept well under control.

Fast and accurate autofocus owing to an AF unit equipped with a high-precision magnetic sensor, combined with an OS (Optical Stabilizer) function effective to approximately 4 stops of image stabilization makes this a highly responsive lens that can handle even the most challenging subjects. It has a Dual Action Zoom system that includes straight and ring zoom, a dust and splash resistant structure, and customizable switches helping photographers and filmmakers adapt quickly and easily to virtually any shooting environment.

Uncompromising Optical Performance Throughout The Zoom Range.

The SIGMA 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS | Sports offers outstanding optical performance throughout its zoom range and at all apertures, yielding professional quality results.

Based on the latest optical design technology, its lens construction of 25 elements in 15 groups includes a range of special types of high-performance glass that ensures thorough control of different types of aberrations. This helps give images the resolution and clearest detail-not only at the tele end around 600mm, which is critical for an ultra-telephoto zoom, but also throughout its entire zoom range-with no compromise.

The lens was designed with image quality in the out-of-focus areas in mind as well, with attractive compression and beautiful bokeh for creating eye-catching images that can only be achieved with a long focal length.

Through improvements to the optical and mechanical designs as well as extensive simulated testing, the lens has achieved high resistance to ghosting and flare. This helps ensure sharp and high-contrast images even in strong sunlight or in backlit conditions.

Uncompromising Optical Performance Throughout The Zoom Range.

Fast, High Precision AF With Impressive Functionality.

The 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS | Sports comes with the pro-level functionality that defines the SIGMA Sports line lens, which is designed for capturing fast-action subjects.

With an AF actuator controlled by a stepping motor, the lens combines fast and quiet autofocus with excellent tracking of moving objects. Furthermore, a high-precision magnetic sensor enables highly accurate positioning for fast and high-precision AF. This is particularly impressive on an ultra-telephoto lens where the focus lens has to move a significant distance.

The OS function delivers effective image stabilization that offers an advantage of approximately 4 stops, which is ideal for hand-held shooting at slower shutter speeds. It is possible to change the OS settings using the OS switch and Custom Mode switch to best suit the shooting situation. The lens has a Focus Limiter switch offering three-zone AF modification, which helps to speed up AF performance.

The lens also has three AFL buttons to which you can assign various functions on the camera side depending on the model of camera used. This ensures that key settings are able to be customized to suit your shooting style and be accessed easily so that you can adapt quickly to changing conditions.

With the fast and high-precision AF, 4 stops image stabilization, and a wide range of customizable functionality that comes with the SIGMA 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS | Sports, the creative possibilities are limitless.

Fast, High Precision AF With Impressive Functionality.

Outstanding Build Quality Optimized For Ultra-Telephoto Photography.

The 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS | Sports combines the build quality that upholds the SIGMA Sports line standards with excellent operability, taking into account different shooting environments and modes of operation expected with an ultra-telephoto lens.

A dust and splash resistant structure that stops water drops or dust from getting into the lens, combined with a water and oil repellent coating applied to the front element, gives you a peace of mind even in a harsh shooting environment.

The lens features a Dual Action Zoom, which supports both straight zoom and ring zoom, allowing you to change the angle of view in a quick and intuitive way. In addition, there is also a newly incorporated Zoom Torque switch, with which you can change the resistance of the zoom ring and lock it at the wide end, ensuring ease of zoom operation as well as elimination of zoom creep.

On the lens body there is a magnesium tripod socket attachable to an Arca Swiss type clamp. The foot is removable and may be replaced with an optional lens foot (replaceable lens foot type) or mounted on a monopod.

The lens body uses parts made of aluminum and TSC (Thermally Stable Composite), where they are most suitable. TSC is a type of polycarbonate with a thermal expansion rate similar to that of aluminum, ensuring the lens behaves consistently at different temperatures. By taking advantage of its design intended exclusively for mirrorless camera systems, the lens is both robust-an attribute essential for the Sports line of lenses-and compact and lightweight. Compared to the SIGMA 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM | Sports, which is also a Sports line lens but designed for SLR cameras, the new lens is lighter by 760g and shorter by 26.6mm.
