One of the quality products that I trust, it gives clear details of every piece of music instruments. The bass is tight, soft, full, the treble is crystal clear. The voice is prominent and dimensional. If you found musical this is the best ones and low cost to buyb it.

I love my Yamaha integrated amp. It makes my Q Acoustics speakers sing. And it looks so cool. I look forward to getting more Yamaha gear in the future.

I bought this to replace an old amp and pre-amp from the '90s in my secondary system. So far it has met all of my needs and expectations. Although I don't use or need the digital inputs, I appreciate the ability to connect my 3-head cassette deck, which is not common on modern equipment. The phono preamp doesn't handle moving coil cartridges but does an admirable job with moving magnet. I'm amazed that Yamaha can make such an excellent and all encompassing integrated amp at such a low price point, This makes me wonder if buying my A-S3200 was a smart move, lol.

I'm very pleased with this amp. It's built like a tank and sounds great. Plenty of power for my home office application and pairs nicely with my Yamaha CD player.

I bought this Integrated Amplifier to use primarily to provide power and sound for a Yamaha CD Player Changer which I purchased from ADORAMA. I run this into a pair of Yamaha (3-Way) Speakers , also from ADORAMA, which run at 60 Watts R.M.S. at 8 Ohms (Max). Yamaha feature good reliable and reasonably priced Audio consumer products and also market Professional Commercial Sound products as well. ... I have used their reliable mixers and P.A. Components with bands I have been in in the past so that's why I felt confident that this Audio Integrated Amp would work well. This Amp is good for small to medium sized rooms at home. It has plenty of inputs (including a Phono line input) so there's room to grow your HiFi system with this. ... It can support two speaker systems so you can power multiple rooms as well. I think it's a great value for my money spent! ...

High quality sound but very basic amp. I love the sound and the price. I don't like the power, pure direct and input indicator lights they are tiny, tiny, tiny. The writing on the front panel is impossible to read in a dimly lit room. the Input knob is a rotary encoder so there is no pointer on the knob you have to keep turning until the light goes on for your desired input. The volume control has a pointer but it is also impossible to read. I cut a sliver of aluminum air-conditioning tape for the front of the knob to show the relative volume level. The bottom line is this is a beautiful sounding amp and that is what's most important to me.

I had a Yamaha 202 stereo receiver. Bluetooth from TV was out of sync with volume and lips. Bothersome. Now using the optical input all is now correct. Enjoy the build in DAC for CD player. Supposedly gives up 40 Watts from stereo receiver, would never have guessed. Really drives my 47 years old Klipsch Heresy speakers. Love it.

We use it to play mostly cds casually. We intend on using a Bluetooth adapter to stream music from our iPhones. I knew this company had great sound from previous experience with a friends amp.

The sound is great, it powers my Emotiva B1+ speakers more than adequately at a distance of 8ft. It's easy enough to connect to a TV with the optical connection. I don't think I'll need to upgrade for a long time.

The face of the S-301 cannot be seen in dim light. I have to go across the room to make any adjustments. The dials need to be marked with a contrasting color. I made mistake buying it. My return window at Crutchfield has expired. Please let me return it.

while it is very well built, and good clean power--the detail of the human voice and instruments--is missing. wanted to love this but i found my measly onkyo tx 8020 to have very REAL and lifelike detail--whereas this amp has no sparkle. i've heard that the onkyo a9110 is the one to buy as per WHAT-hifi. their review of this amp the as301--is VERY accurate. would love for yamaha to up its game. very good quality build--good sound--but not gorgeous sound, a bit recessed, flat.

I was excited to find this basic amplifier from Yamaha as I have one of their larger amps in my entertainment system and I like their quality and reliability. However, I was very disappointed when I found there was no USB input so I could hook it up to my computer and have straight signal to the amp and its DAC. What is your deal Yamaha? I can buy a sub-$200 amp with it. Get with the program. Sadly, this won't be in my home and I'll have to find something else.

This integrated amp had all the features I needed for my music room. I especially like that it includes a good phono preamp and a decent DAC so I can use a cheap CD transport with a digital out for very good sound quality. I was concerned that I might need to go up one model to get the sound levels I wanted, but the A-S301 has plenty of juice to push the JBL Stage A180s I have it driving. It's important to note how the loudness control on this amp differs from most other amplifiers I've used. I set the volume knob at the highest level I would use the amp and then use the loundess control to set playback volume. IMO, this results in much better sound quality at every listeneing level. The only downside is that the Yamaha loudness control can't be controlled by the remote. An oversight?

Sound and power are great, listened to some classic and symphonic rock and digital sound is great, still trying to decide between FLAC and WAV on streaming, but ... I bought this Amp with the intention to use it on Zone2 pre-amp from a Yamaha receiver, but unfortunately I have not found a way around. I can only control via remote, it has a Sleep function but not wake up process or trigger. There is no network connectivity that would be great for Zone2, and the HRT7065, what is full of features, cannot manage Amp volume of final volume level. So...I can manage streaming and input if I set it up before hand but then no many options to manage it from Zone2 (Living room)

Item I ordered was back ordered but once product arrived Adorama ship out and arrived very fast. I open the amp and impressed with quality and built. Hooked up all new Audio components and worked liked champ. Sound quality was more then I expected and my uncle was super impressed and happy with set up (it was for him). I will definitely purchase from them again if I needed to upgrade my current system.

I use this amp to record from vinyl disks to my computer. Then I record the digital results to CDs to use for everyday playing. This preserves the records for future use. Note: I have had Yamaha skis (circa 1964) and a motorcycle later on. Always have been happy with Yamaha products.

I absolutely love this integrated. Pure direct takes the shortest path to the amplifier section. I can't come up with anything I don't like. OK, hard to read the volume control. Not a big deal. Sound is clean and detailed. Plenty of old school inputs. The tone controls are the best and perfectly implemented. The most tasteful use of a loudness control I have ever used. A joy to use and pleasure to look at. It's big and beefy for this kind of money. A bargain at this price. five stars. I'm very happy with this.

The amplifier has a very clean sound, nice and balanced, we are very contented with the purchase. We choose is black coor for its sobriety, visual discretion, functionality and simplicity of use do not look very good. We chose it as a replacement for a Keenwod KA4000, the Yamaha is configured: The optical input is connected to a bluetooth receiver, the coaxial to a DVD Phillips and the phono to a Thorens TD145, additionally the Turner input is occupied with digital television decoder . The audio outputs are connected to two sets of speakers, the A to Holimar SA313 and the B to Warfedale TSR108. To hear it is a pleasure !!!.

Very solid amp. Seems to be getting better with break-in. Drives my old Polk Rta 11 Towers with a sense of purpose. The only issues are as mentioned before, power on LED's are very hard to see and no indicator for volume knob. Great Amp.

The amp has a major flaw. The subwoofer output has a fixed frequency low pass filter set at 90HZ which is too high for most decent bookshelf or larger speakers. If you use a subwoofer, the amplifier does not highpass the main speakers, meaning that it sends full frequency range sound to the main speakers whether they are able to reproduce the sound or not. When a subwoofer is used, the amplifier should send sound above the crossover frequency to the main speakers and sound below the crossover frequency to the subwoofer. This one does not. I was able to use the subwoofer output with the subwoofer's built in filter to set it to a more reasonable 80Hz, but this is still less than ideal because power is wasted sending low frequencies to the main speakers which cannot reproduce low frequency. This also puts extra strain on the main speakers because they are trying to reproduce low frequencies that they are incapable of. The amp needs some way of setting the crossover frequency for the subwoofer and needs to highpass the main speakers when a subwoofer is being used - this is a major design flaw. I suppose that the subwoofer output "checked a box" on the spreadsheet, but the actual implementation is a joke - it needs a controllable frequency set point and a switch to highpass the main speakers when a subwoofer is used. Maybe there's a way to do this by adjusting features on the circuit board, but if so, it's undocumented.

I was in need of a replacement for my aging Sony amp. I was particularly looking for an amp that would enable two sets of speakers at either end of my living room. Controls are simple to use, connections easy to understand and then the sound... This unit has excellent sound which surpassed my expectations. I have connected up my PC via optical and phono and my tablet etc via a Logitech Bluetooth dongle. I don't have a turntable so have not been able to check this. Direct Sound feature sounds crisp and clear and the use of the simple bass, treble and loudness controls can enhance the music how your ears prefer. Remote is straightforward to use. All in all a highly recommended amp.

This amplifier delivers the great sonic performance promised in the specifications at a very reasonable price. The construction is top-notch with a clean internal layout and controls that feel substantial and durable. The aluminum front panel is also a plus, compared to some competitors that use plastic. The only tiny criticism I have is that I think the power pilot and two function selector LEDs should be more prominent, as it is hard to tell that the unit is on in normal room light unless you're looking at eye-level.

This is a great amplifier for a number of reasons, considering the value! I bought it because I'm getting back into vinyl, so it's great that it has a phono input. But, it also has other analog inputs, as well as two digital inputs (one optical and one coaxial). Having all of these options is pretty priceless, since most of us also have digital music sources. I have a CD player and an Apple TV connected to the digital inputs, and my turntable connected to the phono input. My listening room is small, so power is not an issue. This amp puts out a really clean signal! Maybe not as "warm" as my old Onkyo, but super clean and true. The variable loudness knob is great, as well as the "direct" setting. Oh, and the design is very elegant and timeless. It could sit among brand new equipment just as it could among vintage gear.

Bought this integrated amp for my music room. Needed a 2 ch int. amp so after reviewing NAD and Marantz along with the Yamaha A-S 301, the 301 is what I went with. I already own a Yamaha 5.1 audio/video reciever and I've had a Yamaha A1 int. amp, and this new one sounds great. It also has a wonderful phono preamp, as that was a big reason buying this unit.

This works as I wanted for my main living area 2.1 sound system. It gets loud enough to keep up with my Klipsch subwoofer, takes optical out from my TV, and has remote that I have programmed into my TiVo remote. The only issue is the power-save timer shuts off the amp earlier than expected and doesn't turn it back on when signal is present again. I just turned the feature off (which is a good workaround). Highly recommended.
