First- This is not an ENG run and gun special camera. Mostly that's because of what it does well. It makes beautiful motion pictures. If you want to pick a camera up and set it to automatic, this is not for you. If you want a fixed zoom lens with integrated power zoom controls, this is not for you. If you have a collection of prime lenses and a desire to control what you are shooting, this is an unbeatable creative tool without spending three times the money or far more. Even if have to you acquire lenses, it will make you happy. If you don't already have a good working knowledge of photography and cinematography you'll want to educate yourself. The Barry Green book that comes with any US market camera will help you a great deal. This is a camera that allows you to think and shoot creatively. It will perform in a wide variety of ways, with you making the choices. There are a lot of things that could be improved, as there have been on every camera ever made. You do get extreme control of color motion picture photography and B&W as well- not just desaturated color. Undercranking and overcranking ala varicam. Beautiful results to SD cards. Higher bandwidth results straight out via SDI or even HDMI (if you must). Nice sharp viewfinder (if in B&W with focus edges). Decent flip out screen. High quality waveform and vectorscope. Really- most of what you want a motion picture camera arrayed with. There is a lot of information and misinformation out there about the AG AF-100. If you want one, research it to see if it's right for you. A good place to start is dvxuser. Not for everybody, but as a complement to a professional grade ENG- It makes images they can't.

Through adapters , you can use almost any SLRlens - with lots of creativity - but remember everything is manual. No Zoom etc. Auto Focus and Auto Iris work well with the Lumix 14-140 that was made for this camera but (obviously) cannot work with most other lenses. When purchasing a lens adaptor, consider one that can adjust the Iris. The SD cards are a good option. However, not all computers can read the latest high capacity SDXC cards. Needs an upgrade to Lion for mac users and a patch for PC users. The latest computers are fine.

Panasonic's AG-AF100 Micro Four Thirds Professional HD Camcorder represents an impressive leap forward in affordable, cinema-quality video imaging. Providing all the professional features expected in an interchangeable-lens camcorder--manual video and audio control, variable frame rates, HD-SDI and HDMI output, XLR inputs, timecode--the AG-AF100 plays its trump card with a large, 4/3"-type image sensor. At 13 times the size of comparably priced 1/3" sensors (and almost 4 times larger than the 2/3" sensors found in cameras costing more than twice as much), the AG-AF100's sensor brings the richness of DSLR video into a professional form factor.
Until now, if you wanted a camera that could shoot video with the deep colors, enhanced light sensitivity, and shallow depth-of-field achievable with large-sensor imaging, you had one of two options: an ungainly DSLR kitted out with any number of expensive support accessories, or access to a large bank account. The AG-AF100 not only delivers the image quality, versatility, and control that professional shooters have been clamoring for, but at a price well within most pro-level budgets. No doubt about it: the large-sensor, interchangeable lens camcorder has finally arrived!
