I am a computer consultant and owner of a Virtual Tour business ([...]) and stumbled across low price glide/steady cams when doing some research on what my competition was doing in this space. After doing extensive research, I chose this product because of it's excellent price, small size and good performance. This is my first one, and it took me about 30 minutes to get it balanced using my Sony HandyCam. If you use this with a lightweight camera, the first thing you'll need to replace are the washers that come with the unit; I bought a set of 6 that were about half as heavy and got the balance working great. I also installed a Manfrotto RC2 Compact Rapid Connect Adapter; had to drill a couple of large holes to allow the release mechanism to extend down through the top mounting plate of the Glidecam ... now setup takes me about 2 minutes.I love the fact that you can stand up your camera on thie device, or just rest it on your belt when not shooting in "glide" mode. The gimble mechanism is nicely engineered and very smooth. I have also puchased a wired remote to control start/stop and zoom which I plan to attach to the gimble's handle, but haven't figured out how to do this yet, as it is too wide for the clip to attach to it.All in all, a great product, at a great price. If you buy one, plan to practice a lot; using a glidecam is not easy at first, but I was able to get good results after several hours.

I use this product for weddings, music videos, real estate, commercials, indie films, and such. It is great in that it allows for precise balancing but that balancing takes time and practice. It IS time well spent though because you develop a feel and respect for it and other rigs (I love my steadical jr even more). It can get heavy with extended use. The vest is comfy and very adjustable and highly recommended for long shooting... Purchase this with confidence and dig in!!

I highly recommend this product to any beginner in the field who wants very smooth shots and control over his or her camera. I can do a full out sprint with this product and be completely smooth. The only thing that brings this product down is the weight of the whole product with the camera attached. This problem can also be easily solved with many of the vests that are sold for this product. My recommendation is that if u want smooth shots for a cheap price this is your product. Also be able to buy the vest as well so that it holds the weight of the camera and the glide cam. This will allow you to use the product longer and have less fatigue. GREAT PRODUCT!!!!

Imagine a world in balance. Imagine smoothness, freedom and grace. With the Glidecam 2000 Pro your camcorder seems to float, always balanced, isolated from your hands undesirable motions. Now you are free to move with your camera-panning, tilting, booming or running without any camera instability or shake.
The Glidecam 2000 Pro is a lightweight, hand-held, camcorder stabilizing system which works so well that it allows you to shoot incredibly smooth and graceful shots even while going to extremes like running up and down stairs or traveling over rugged terrain. And when it comes to normal shooting, like walking or moving the camera slowly around someone, the results are equally magical.
Shot after shot, move after move, the Glidecam 2000 Pro delivers beautifully smooth and professional results. So good in fact are the pictures it produces that is by far the best and most versatile camcorder stabilizer available on the market today.
The Glidecam 2000 Pro's offset handle grip is attached to a free floating, precision Gimbal, which allows your hand to move up and down, and side to side, thereby isolating your hands unwanted motions from the camera. The up and down movement alleviates the bouncing, pogo type action so often associated with our competitors system, because their handle cannot move up and down.
The camera platform moves back and forth, and side to side, to quickly allow you to adjust the cameras horizontal balance. By varying the amount of counterweight disks on the base platform you adjust the camera's vertical balance. When balanced properly the camera floats, ready for you to move into action.
The Glidecam 2000 Pro will support any camcorder or movie camera weighing up to 6 pounds. It is quick and easy to set up and balance. Allows unrestricted Booming and unrestricted 360 degree Panning. Only 14" tall. Made of precision Aluminum. Can also be used as a Monopod, no-tools telescoping base, with positionable weight discs that allow you to achieve dynamic balance. You can easily attach a small LCD monitor to the base monitor mount hole if needed. Weighs 2.2 pounds without counterbalance disks. Camcorder not included.
