Would Not Use A Different Brand.

We've only used Epson printers. Meet and exceed all expectations. Self-service is made very easy by excellent support from Epson. WiFi is easy to setup, and works great. Speed and Print quality are unmatched in our experience.

Happy, So Far

Excellent quality document printing. Suggestions: The output drawer should retract when the screen goes dark after many minutes of non-use. Also, there could be a "Done for Now" command executable from the computer that darkens the screen and retracts the output drawer. I'm not happy that loading a multi-page document in the automatic feeder results in reverse-order output pages. I'll be trying some presentation and CD disc printing soon and, if the quality of the output remains as good as with everyday documents, I'll up the rating to four stars. Happy with the purchase at this point.

Absolute bollox. Wont print offline at all, driver doesnt work for scanning, or for my 2nd laptop. Prints like a half dozen mostly blank pages every time I turn it on. Print queue constantly hangs. Took me an hour to print a single page the other day. Dont buy this thing.

Lives up to Epson standards.

This is the 4th Epson printer I have purchased in 20 years. I have always liked the quality of the photos I've been able to print. All the printers I've purchased have had the ability to print on DVD and CD discs using an adapter. No need for labels to be stuck on a disc. This is the second XP-7100 I have purchased. The first one was a refurbished unit that lasted 2 1/2 years. I print pictures everyday and it may have been too much because the internal pad just got all gunked up. Could not be cleaned and started to degrade photos that were being printed, despite cleaning the heads frequently. The printer works well with double sided prints, saving costs on paper. Scanner makes great copies and files can be saved as several different file types. Software for photo printing is very easy to use.I'd recommend this to friends and family.

TOTAL JUNK!

We have had this printer for almost two years. It is the biggest piece of junk I have EVER bought. It NEVER works. it is cheaply made. VERY poorly designed. Hold almost no paper. And did I mention, IT NEVER PRINTS CORRECTLY!!!! DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!

Bad purchase that I regret

NOT user friendly. I can NEVER just print or even copy a document. It always requires me to spend about 20 minutes restarting, reinstalling the same new ink cartridge repeatedly until I bang the cartridge on the counter and install it. There is always some connection issue and I have it wired to my laptop. Nothing is easy with this printer. I hate it. A bad purchase. I don't have the time or extra money to deal with this.

A PIECE OF JUNK!!

This printer is a piece of junk. Everytime I want to print something, I have to reload the program. I use a wireless router. It's been about 2 months since I printed anything. Now it does not recognize my computor. I try re-loading programs. I am about to take this and throw it the dumpster and start all over with a better brand.

software out of date, appallingly ignorant tech service

What would otherwise be a fine printer is crippled by antiquated software and the inability to have effective two-way communication with modern routers. Despite having spent hours following suggestions from online chat boards about how to get the printer to play happily with a W11 PC, I still could not get the printer to detect the PC. So while I could print and scan from the PC, I could not initiate a scan from the screen on the device. I spent an hour educating the tech service representative from the offshore call center, begging to be escalated, before finally giving up. Too expensive to return, will give the printer away.

If You're Looking to be Frustrated, Buy This Printer

I rarely post negative reviews but I am so tired of wasting paper and ink with this printer. Globs of ink on photos; streaks across nearly every color print job; globs of ink across simple text print jobs, missing lines of text. Check the Nozzles, clean the Nozzles, clean the Nozzles again. Same result. If you're looking to be frustrated, buy Epson; otherwise, if this printer is representative of the company as a whole and its products, DON'T buy Epson.

Really tired of this printer and its errors

This printer has way too many errors-one after the other. It's big and clunky, the paper slots don't hold enough paper, and it can't even be detected when it's connected to my Wi-Fi. I often have to resort to going back to the library to print. This was a waste of my money.

Disappointed

Epson XL cartridges purchased from Epson do not reliably fit the slots. The number of retries to get proper color registration with clean print heads and nozzles burns through a LOT of ink. Service techs I spoke with call this printer a "princess" because it's so "delicate." The Epson WorkForce printer that this one replaced was much better in performance and far easier to maintain. I do a lot of writing with embedded photos and multiple paper types and miss the ease of use of its predecessor.

No. Just No.

This is hands down the worst printer I've ever purchased. It's incredibly clunky physically. (the way you load paper is cumbersome. It ALWAYS catches the photo tray. You can only manually feed ONE piece of paper in the top loader. It keeps telling me it has firmware to update and never will actually do it no matter how many times I go through the steps. The ink is crazy expensive and goes through a lot. The only plus is it prints nice photos but as an every day printer it's terrible. Constant updates, a million apps (scan, print, photo, MoRe) ...

NOT a photo printer as advertised

Though it does just fine with printing standard documents, photo printing is a whole other thing. One of the selling points for us was that it was supposed to have great quality photo printing and with ease. It DOES NOT and is not. There are constant issues while printing photos and while burning through ink, having to re-print over and over. Incredibly frustrating. I do not recommend this printer if you are trying to make cards, or print family photos, or work images. Now scanning is an issue as well. I had multiple inquiries about the scanning feature. I had 5 different agents and claim numbers due to "connection" loss. Then after 3+ hours of phone time, they proceeded to tell me to call my internet provider.

Terrible printer, and customer service

broke 3 months out of the box. cyan ink Empty. ordered ink directly from espon cost over $150. The printer did not recognize from Epson. Epson sentmreplacement cyan in cartridge. "overnight" took 5 days to arrive. Still not recognized by Epson Printer. I spoke with Epson customer service they said should bring it to an Epson repair shop. It would cost me. I'd give it no stars if I could

Sorry I bought this one!

I've had this about 6 months and I think it is very hard to use. After 6 months I still cannot complete a more than 1 page PDF file on it. So discouraging. There are times I just want to junk it, but I don't have the money to go out every 6 months to get another one. :(

Epson is a brand I trust.

I bought this Epson Expression Premium XP-7100 Small-in-One Printer (from the Epson Store on Ebay) about a month ago. It arrived while power was off at my house, really in the whole region. Tonight I finally am able to connect the printer to my in-home network and, although I haven't run a test print yet, it has been the easiest installation I've ever done...this is my 4th Epson.

Great Printer!

I bought this printer 5 years ago. It has been fantastic! I do a lot of photo printing and this printer does a beautiful job and is so easy to use. I see that it is on sale now. Maybe, I'll just buy a new one and give the old one to my daughter.

Good, but no instructions included.

I"ve had my XP-7100 a long time, and have generally been happy with it. BUT....there's no instruction manual. Whenever something comes up that raises a question, I have to go searching on the webl, and it's TIME-CONSUMING and CONFUSING! Why no manual? It's a printer! Epson knows how to print!

XP 7100 drops WifiConnection

This XP 7100 printer drops the wifi connection to the iMac often notwithstanding Nest wifi point being next to the printer and all settings being correct. I have a fair amount of technical experience and have also attempted to resolve this problem with Epson Technical Support four times who have not been helpful in permanently resolving the problem. I have just reloaded the printer driver again. Frustrating - - would not buy this unit again. I am pursuing its return under warranty.

Why there are clumps of black ink...

When this printer is happy, the photos are great. I tried to keep it happy by cleaning heads when there was a hint of lines, checked the alignment, etc. Last year, my photos were coming out with clumps of black ink and smudges that made me crazy. I did all the maintenance features, several times. Still gunk. I put up with it for the times it chooses to be happy and give me great photos. Then one day, I got an "End of Life" error. I looked on line for what that means. A couple of solutions said the ink well is full! Turns out there is a BIG ink well (tank) below where the cartridges are seated. Mine was so full of ink, that tipping it slightly would have poured ink out of it all over. Took it to a certified Epson repair person who told me that every time I would clean the heads, it pumps ink into the well, little by little filling it up! I thought about how many times I cleaned the heads, GEEZ! No wonder it was full and understood why I was changing the cartridges sooo often. Repair guy cleared the tank, replaced the sponges inside and put it back together. He plugged it in and the error message was still there. Turns out, even if you are a DIY person and make the repairs yourself, you have to take it to a service center to clear the error message. Double GEEZZZ! There was some left over clumps stuck in the rollers, so I clean them and it has worked fine since. I am just starting to get clumps again but now I am going to clean what I can first instead of just putting up with the waste of paper and ink, until I get an error message. I still really like the auto feed in the top and the scanner. Just have to work harder to keep my XP-7100 happy.

Stay Away!

I bought this 3 months ago and am not pleased at all. My laptop runs on 5ghz and this printer only works on 2.4ghz so I can't even get it to print on my new laptop. so, I have to use my old laptop to print and after 3 months the print quality just sucks. I would not recommend this printer at all

Very Pleased with my new Epson XP7100 Printer!

I am very pleased with my new Epson 7100 printer. It is very easy to operate and the print quality is excellent. The feature I have used quite frequently during "Tax season" is the scanner. The scanning feature was easy to set up and even easier to use. I haven't had the opportunity to use the photo printing yet but expect it will work as well as the other features.

Not efficient for fast work environment

entire printer works way too slow. trays barely hold any paper. back feeder only holds one piece of paper at a time. even with everything installed on pc, scanner kept requested download app on pc, which was already installed. to refill trays you have to completely remove the trays from printer, and tray 2 does not go back in smoothly. you constantly have to press commands on the touchscreen after every single function you do.

Slow little printer

The printer is compact and easy to set up. Paper loading is cumbersome and it does not hold enough paper. Printspeed is slow.
