It can be a little slow to autofocus, but this is probably one of my favorite lenses.

Great lens along with a very useful kit! My package arrived earlier then I expected and Adorma did a good job safely packing these products.

Fuji's best lens in my view. Fantastic low-light performance. Wide but not too wide. Beautiful construction. Looks like a perfect "fit" on the X-T4

My purchase of this lens was a birthday gift for my son who is becoming an excellent photographer. On Father's Day he sent me three images of flowers he made using this 16mm lens. I was impressed with the bokeh, the sharpness, and the colors. In his words, "I love this lens. I can't believe how wide it goes. I'm glad you included the UV filter...I can get so up close to the subject that I was concerned about getting too close and damaging the glass. Nice to have the added protection." This lens is currently on my Adorama Wish List.

By far, the lens that makes me want to go and shoot out there. Lens its so grate when i use it at events i can get close enough to take a pictures to a large group without being intrusive, a good lens for street and making occasionaly architecture photos and its awesome for landscape and am an event photographer. This lens its not a common fixed focal lenght but it is soo versatile and what to say about the f1.4 aperture, it can shoot in low light situations and accompained with my fuji xt3 its a great duo. I totally reccomend it.

Part of my work consists of doing formal portraits of artists, authors, etc. in their homes. When I want to include a significant portion of their working environment and use natural light (as is almost always the case), this is my first choice. If I had to do such an assignment tomorrow with just this lens and the 56mm 1.2, I'd have zero issues. It's also my backup lens (behind a 16 - 55 2.8) when I shoot NCAA Div 1 basketball games directly under the net or baseball / softball games from inside the dugout (along with my 50-140), very different kinds of photography.

I've been involved with photography/videography professionally for nearly a decade. I've used this focal length across so many different camera systems, and this one is my favorite. Sharp, fast, reliable, and well built. I also love how close you can get to a subject to really show off the 1.4 aperture. This thing is the real deal. If you like wide angle perspectives and you have fuji bodies, definitely put this at the top of your list.

This is really an excellent lens. I love the focus system ring. Focus is fast when in auto mode and when in manual there is no infinite ring in the focus operation, which is great. Besides, focus scale marks shows up when you pul the ring to manual focus. What a great design! Image render, contrast, micro contrast, sharpness, saturation and blur - when in a shallow death of field - are perfect. At 1.4 aperture there's a sutil vignette, which is expected, but almost not noticeable. After 4.0 aperture lens is sharp from corner to corner. Focus can be set up at very close distance, 15cm (see the cake picture attached, ISO 1600, f/1.4, 1/80). It's not macro 1:1 lens but that's very useful feature. At the mirror picture attached (ISO 1600, f/1.4, 1/100), you can notice that it can produce a very nice half figure portrait. (Reflections were blocked because there was a circular polariser filter on the lens.) Both shots were taken under low light conditions fot testing both the lens and camera XT3. Very simple test, not scientific, but shows the upsides and downsides of this combination. It's is also very solid, built like a tank, all metal, except the shade which is made of creapy plastic. Well, the shade of this lens is the only downside, it seems that is very fragile and will be broken in couple of months. However, there is an extra metal lens shade made by Fujifilm, very fancy and expensive, about US$70,00. This should be the regular lens shade included on kit, but it needs to be purchased separately. TIP 1: look for bundles kit to buy lenses here ate Adorama, they offer nice prices and many accessories included on the regular kit lens, sometimes for free, on those bundles. A VALUABLE TIP 2: In the first quarter of year, Fujifilm offers discounts on the lenses, about 30%, sometimes. So, keep tuned to purchase lenses at a very good price. Don't forget to look for the bundles also.

If I could only own one Fuji prime, this is the one for me. It just works with my shooting style. Nice wide angle lens that can also be used at a very close focus distance. I find it very versatile.

Love this lens. It's on my camera 90% of the time. At 1.4 it's always super sharp and makes a great video and photo lens. Keep in mind the focus motor is a bit louder and can be picked up with an internal microphone so if your shooting video with audio you will want to use a lav mic or external audio mic. I did a small review that you can see how it is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-97wzQoNW_k

This is an amazing lens! I didn’t think I’d use a lens this wide but I’m finding new uses for it every time I shoot. The quality is top notch as usual with Fuji.

Enough has been written about this lens/image quality/etc so I won’t repeat it here. If you’re serious about photography, buy this lens. You won’t get the same thing from the 16-55 at the wide end. If you’re shooting with a fuji camera you need prime lenses and this is a must have. I winced when I hit the purchase button but have never regretted it. I love it as much for up-close and personal really intimate portraits as I do street photography and landscapes.

I own the 23mm and 35mm f/1.4 Fuji lenses and they set a high bar for this focal length. I also have the 16-55, which I found to be quite a disappointment at all focal lengths. Otherwise, I would have passed by this lens. But the zoom is so weak, I felt I needed something better for my documentary work. This lens delivers with great subject/background separation and sharpness. Too bad it is APS format; I had the Nikkor 24mm f/1.8 and I feel this lens is every bit as good, but the Nikkor had to work harder because of the larger sensor it must cover. The workmanship on the Fuji beats Nikon's lenses into the dust. I love the fact it has an aperture ring and was one of the reasons for going to Fuji. I'm an aging photographer and using the system takes me back to better times, of Tri-X and shutter speed dials, apertures, etc. This lens will last my lifetime and then my grandson's, who I plan to will all this stuff to.

Believe everything that's good, great and stellar that you've heard about this lens. You'll be hard pressed to find another that has this much versatility. You can masterfully shoot portraits, skylines, landscapes and almost even macro... yes, you can get THAT close to a subject. If i could only suggest one lens to the new Fuji users it would be this one, it'll instantly change the way you shoot.

What an amazing lens! I honestly regret not purchasing this lens as soon as I purchased my XT2. The sharpness on this lens is as good as advertised. A must own for Fuji shooters

24mm(35mm) 1.4, sharp wide open and with macro capabilities, what's not to like? there's a single negative, coma, visible in the far corners down to f2, almost gone by 2.5 so if you're an astro guy know that. For those that complain about size and weight of this lens, L M A O

A very sharp and well made lens. Only drawback is it is rather large in size.

Probably The Finest Lens Fuji Makes
By Lee R.
no small statement indeed. I've either owned or used ALL the lenses that Fuji offers currently. There are no lenses I consider inferior or sub standard. However this 16mm f1.4 shines on a completely different level. Aside from the fact you can be virtually on the subject you are trying to shoot for close focus capabilities, It is built to the highest standards all metal with no play and nice tight tolerances. I've not seen ANY flare, chromatic aberrations and it is sharp corner to corner by f...

Stunning lens!
By Vornel
I was a bit nervous about getting this lens, as I have the 18-55 & 18-135 - would 2mm extra make a difference? Yes, and also I do not care! This lens is incredibly sharp right to the corners, fast, with really shallow depth of field, and can focus on subjects only a couple of inches from the lens. What a great lens - worth every penny.
