Review Summary

I bought this mainly for its small size and great IQ. Overall it is a great camera fits my needs. There are two issues though: 1) auto focus seems not very accurate under low light 2) requires additional equipment to install any filters

It's very sharp the auto modes are good, the manual mode is good if you know how to use it. It's good for hobbyists and pros. It's small lightweight and very user friendly

About the smallest camera that is not a point-and-shoot that I know of. I like having manual controls and settings with an auto function as backup. By the time I put a lens protector setup on, it is pretty wide for a small camera -- if they can get this so it is as slim as a point-and-shoot then that would be 5 stars.

Great build. The trade off from the x100t is a slower lens but I get better portability

Was looking for a easy-to-carry camera that could capture pictures as great as my DSLR. So far, it's living up to my expectations and I've been enjoying it. Easy to pocket, easy to take beautiful photos. PS. The display rotates 180 and it makes it too easy to take selfies. Cons, however, are: There's no viewfinder. The video could be a little better, the video record button is too close to some other buttons and makes it rather hard to press at times.

I purchased it to use on the job as an art installer & picture framer, the focal length is just right for interior shots, and the macro shots are great for picture frame details. So far it is everything I thought it would be and more. I would recommend this camera to everyone.

A camera that creates a great image and it is fun to use as well. A very important negative though is the fact that once you remove the battery the basic settings (time, date, your personal setup) disappear. Not as sharp as the Ricoh GR or the Nikon Coolpix A but sharp enough.

I was looking for a pocketable camera with features that would provide great pictures. Since I have an Xt-1and this has the same size sensor I tried it. It is a great little camera with big camera results. I am very happy with my purchase and the pictures this takes.

IQ is very nice, but this camera cant be treated like a point and shoot thus not recommended for beginners like me. In my experience, it really needs inage stabilisation to shoot in lower shutter speed in low light. The f2.8 is not enough.

So far,my first impression is very positive. This camera is perfect for the street shooter. Very small, great IQ, and love the flip up LCD.

The FUJIFILM X70 is a newly designed premium fixed lens digital camera that features a FUJINON 18.5mm F2.8 lens (28mm in 35mm format equivalent), suitable for a range of applications from landscapes to everyday snapshots. The new X70 elegantly combines simple, manual operation with superior image quality and versatile picture-taking functions, and is the first X-Series camera to offer a touchscreen display that rotates 180 degrees, enabling users to shoot from up high and down low and to capture selfies.
16.3MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS II Sensor
Uses the FUJINON 18.5mm F2.8 lens with 7 elements in 5 groups, and 2 high-performance aspherical elements
High-definition, touchscreen 3" tilting (180-degrees) LCD display with 1.04 million dots
Maximum ISO performance up to 51200 sensitivity
New AF system offers the 49-point Single Point mode for fast, precise focusing, and a new Zone and Wide/Tracking modes with a 77-point area to capture moving subjects
Near silent electronic shutter capable of exposures up to 1/32,000 second
Digital teleconverter offers focal ranges of 35mm and 50mm
Full HD video 1080p at 60fps
Advanced creative filters
The compact FUJIFILM X70 uses a 16.3MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS II Sensor for extraordinary image resolution, and gives photographers milled aluminum dial controls, as well as aperture settings in 1/3 stop increments, and the new Auto Mode Switch lever for selecting its fully automatic Advanced SR Auto mode. In this mode, the camera automatically chooses the optimum settings for great results on any scene.
Premium Compact Camera For Everyday Use
Wide angle of view, compact size, X-Trans image quality, superb response, stunning style. The FUJIFILM X70 with its 18.5mm wide-angle lens is all you need to make your everyday shots dramatic.
Design & Control
High-quality finish and easy operation encourage creativity
Weighing approximately 12 oz (340g), the FUJIFILM X70 is the lightest X-series camera with an APS-C sized sensor. The top-plate features milled aluminum exposure compensation and shutter speed dials, making it easy to quickly access key features, while the aperture and focusing rings are also made from milled aluminum to help keep weight down. Apertures can be changed in 1/3 or 1 stop increments, plus the focusing ring doubles up as a control ring for quick access to a range of functions.
Image Quality
Compact body with an APS-C sized X-Trans CMOS II sensor and EXR Processor II image processing engine
Key technologies that deliver the high quality images unique to X-series models have been compressed into a pocket-sized body. This includes the stunning color reproduction technology, developed as a result of more than 80 years of photographic film manufacturing, and the unique Lens Modulation Optimizer (LMO) image processing technology that corrects optical defects such as diffraction to achieve edge-to-edge sharpness and a realistic three-dimensional effect. On-sensor phase detection AF focuses in an ultra-fast 0.1 sec and, thanks to the high-speed EXR Processor II image processor, the camera starts up in just 0.5sec, has a shutter time lag of 0.01sec and shooting interval of 0.5sec.
Autofocus
AF system with Zone and Wide/Tracking modes for effortless capture of moving subjects
The AF system offers the standard 49-point Single Point mode for high speed and precision focusing, as well as the new Zone and Wide/Tracking modes that use a larger 77-point area to capture moving subjects.
Digital Tele-converter
Digital Tele-converter with three settings
One body, three lenses. The X70's fixed lens offers a 28mm angle of view but, thanks to the first Digital Tele-converter mode in an X-series camera, users can also select 35mm and 50mm options. Settings for the Digital Tele-converter can be changed within the menu, or on the control ring on the lens barrel, enabling users to quickly check the image on the LCD before shooting.
