Great Fish Eye! It Full Frame (work great on my 5D), just watch out for the extreme image distorcion. I don't recomend if you are looking just for a wide lens. This is Fish Eye lens!

I bought this lens based on opinions of other photographers who own one and from other online reviews. This lens performs wonderfully, even in low light conditions. I use mine on a 7D and even though I was told the fisheye effect would be minimized on a cropped sensor, I am still very pleased at the amount of fisheye I still get. The center of the frame is in clear focus while the edges of the photo have a very consistent and very cool I might add, fisheye effect. I could see the advantage of a full frame sensor with this lens however. As stated in other reviews, the lens cap just slides on and off and there are no filters available to protect the lens due to the shape of the lens. I simply used some heavy duty rubber bands to hold the lens cap on during transportation. It may not look great, but the rubber bands do the trick. You just need to be mindful to protect the lens when shooting as well. I think this lens is great value for your money, considering the next Canon fisheye lens will cost you almost double!

This is a fun little lens. Very small and light to have along. Clearly photos have an odd look to them so it can't be used as a standard lens. It is incredible sharp at wide open at f2.8. I've used it on both my 5D2 and 50D. With the 5D2 the distortion is extreme but on the 50D you can actually use it as a normal lens for some landscapes if you avoid strait lies or the curved horizon. This is mostly a special effects lens. Just fun I think would describe its uses best. I have used it also for night sky photography, very sharp but the curved horizon is an issue.

I love this lens. The more I use it the more indispensable it becomes. It is small enough to tuck away in any of my camera bags without any of my other gear having to give up space, and in a pinch can fit in a pocket. Designed to be a true fisheye on a full frame camera, this lens definitely delivers the goods. I am using it on a 5D Mark II and find that it is consistently one of my sharpest lenses, despite being the only non-L lens I own. I use this lens quite often at night where the f/2.8 aperture is very handy when a tripod would be impractical. It is also great for shooting fun shots indoors. Use the distortion to add flavor to fun portraits, or frame the shot to minimize the distortion and get a very wide field of view. Some very interesting effects can be achieved by shooting with an eye towards exaggerated perspective and then correcting in post. Ultimately, this lens, if you take the time to learn it, will offer a wide range of creative possibilities. On the down side, the noise from the focus motor can take some getting used to. I always worry that the lens cap will slide off in the bag and something may scratch the lens, and I haven't been able to find a good drop in filter for it. Overall I am quite happy with this lens, and I haven't even entertained the thought of replacing it with the new 8-14L FE, I just don't see the point in replacing such a solid performer.

I have found this lens to be well constructed and gives excellent output quality. The only short fall would be the lens cap doesn't fit the best.

While this is a fairly specialist lens, I just love it. It is wonderful for wide scene landscapes. It also works for group photography. It's a lens I use more than I thought I would. Very highly recommended.

I've had this lens for about a month now and I really like it. It's my first experience with a fisheye and it's sparked my creative spirit. I'm still experimenting and learning the various effects of the lens. The distortion is fun but I have a lot more to learn. I was a bit concerned that this wasn't an L lens, but the quality is just fine for my purposes.

I had bought the lens for my daughter. She had wanted a fisheye lens for the effct it creates. I should have done more research. There was not much fisheye effect and I found this was becasue the rebel was not a full frame camera. Guess thats what happens when you buy good equipment with lack of knowledge.

I wasn't sure, in the wedding business, if I'd use the lens that much but I have found it to be invaluable. I've told all my upcoming brides how excited they're going to be with the great shots I can get with the Fish Eye! So far, I haven't found much that isn't good about it!

The only thing about this lense that was not great is the lense cover. It can come off easily because the design is just a slip on.

It's a good lens for night photography. At f2.8 aperture is still sufficiently sharp, while f5.6 forward is very sharp.

two days after getting the lens, my auto focus stopped working. other than that, this lens has been amazing, even without the auto focus working. its a little bit heavy, but not too bad. the effect gives straight lines and landscapes some flair.

The lens is more than adequate and produces excellent sharp images in all ranges. The fisheye effect could be more pronounced, but seems more prominent in the background. Still, this is a good lens and can produce some very interesting photos.

For an SLR fisheye lens it is great that you do not have the traditional black circle around the photo. I was looking for a true fisheye, and even though this is the best one on the market, there is little distortion (in the fisheye terms) of curving straight lines so on and so fourth. When I was doing the research sample images had that true distortion, however they are only effective if in the foreground or distant background. As far as fisheye lenses I would recommend the canon one over any other. Focuses great even close up.

Now is the time to add another piece of equipment...or two! Underwater flash systems are a critical part of photographing marine life and get the contrast and color back into the equation.

Fantastic colors, very sharp.

Fisheye lens with a 180° angle of view for unique and intriguing effects. The wide depth of field makes it even more interesting. The short minimum focusing distance of 8 in. (20 cm) gives new meaning to close-up shots. The lens has a fixed petal-type hood and a gelatin filter holder at the rear.
