The camera and accessories are in mint condition and an amazing value for the price. I chose super saver shipping and still got my camera in two days. I ordered it in time for a trip to Iceland and am very satisfied with the results. Beautiful pictures and great camera for a beginner that still wants a little more than what small non-professional cameras have to offer. Thank you, Adorama, you are the best!

I just love to take photo's of anything that I see that I like, I don't like luging a lot with me. This kit is great, the bag is good size more lenses, I know thats going to happen soon to. So all & all this is fantastic for me.

I bought this camera as a backup for jobs, and was surprised that it actually looked brand new when I received it. This is a great camera for anyone that wants to take quality photos.[...] Very affordable [...].

This is a good camera, and easy to use in automatic mode. My big problem is that it fell off the hotel bed and damaged the viewfinder. I hoped that digital cameras would be a little more rugged. The camera still takes good pictures even though looking through the viewfinder is blurry.

When I got this camera, I was surprised that it looked absolutely brand new. Another thing that shocked me was that it had only had about 250 pictures taken with it before I got it. I saved $150 buying this instead of a brand new camera. I was not disappointed and will only buy refurbished Canon cameras from Adorama from now on.

If you're new or fairly new to DSLR's, this is a great way to begin. It is easy to use, easy to learn on, and is a camera you'd keep in your arsenal even as you become more knowledgeable. Meaning it's a camera you can grow with. And when you do want to move on up the Canon line, you're not at a learning curve. Their menu and layout is near the same as the XS, so you just pick up your next Canon right where you left off and keep on growing.

I am a freelance Videographer and producer. I wanted to offer senior class pictures at my studio. I use a Kodak Z18is for stills in my videos, but wanted to upgrade to a DSLR. The Kodak offers manual controls, and I have used a friend's Canon XTI, so I felt it was time to buy a DSLR. I couldn't believe the price on this XS. Then I noticed it was refurbished. I was very hesitant about buying it. With the reviews here, guarantee, and price I felt confidant about the purchase. [...] Like other reviews, I thought it was new. No, scratches, no marring, not even a smudge. The big selling point for me was the price and guarantee. Do your research to be sure this is the camera for you. I just wanted an inexpensive entry level camera. I shot over 500 pictures the first week I got it. Next purchase for video or photography I will check here first.

I bought this camera as my first DSLR for my family pictures, etc and it's great! I have had it for about 3 months, and I use it weekly. It has been durable and reliable, and even my 5 year old has taken pictures with it. One downside has been the auto-focus, and I have missed a few shots because the lens kept rotating back and forth and couldn't decide how to focus. Otherwise this camera is an A+.

I am a newbie, but totally enjoy this camera. It is the next step up from a point and shoot. I was worried about looking like a nerd w/ a big old camera hanging from my neck. But the body is not that bulky and fits perfectly in my hand.

I love this camera! As someone who is just starting out, it is so very easy to use. I am bummed because i am used to seeing the picture in the LCD before i take the shot, but that isn't an option with most SLRs unless its the brand new fancy expensive models! Overall I am very pleased

This was my first DSLR and I must say I could not be happier with it. I use the Rebel XS for a variety of shots and I get great image quality.

I am still learning a lot about photography and was looking for a camera with a faster shutter speed because my point and shoot just wasn't fast enough! It also had a harder time in lower lighting, like concerts. This camera is great for both of those and so far has been easy to navigate. I have much to learn but the manual is easy to read, and I can tell this camera has a lot of potential. Also spending less than retail prices was a huge plus! I would buy from here again.

The only dislike I have is the lens that came with the camera kit. It was my first purchase of a SLR camera and over all I am pleased.

This is a great camera. High quality photos at a great price. Don't let the "refurbished" scare you. My camera came in perfect condition, original packaging, and there is no way to tell it was refurbished. I went back and forth about getting a refurb or paying $60 more for a brand new camera. I made the right choice, and have no regrets saving a little money. Highly recommend this camera, and Adorama.

My wife finally decided to go from film to digital dslr. I found this refurbished XS and am really glad I ordered it for her. She loves it. I also got a refurbished 75-300mm lens. They both look and operate like brand new. I have purchased other refurbished items in the past and have not been disappointed. Adorama backs them with their own warranty that is just as good as new.

This was a great deal. I got the package with the spare battery and the case and a 2gig memory card for [$]. Just the camera was over $500 other places. Yes it's a referb. but I've bought other Canon products as referbs too. Not an issue for me.

Good camera for beginners like me. I liked its quick AF. Camera was light and convenient for my hands. Unfortunately, in a week of use the camera was stolen( But next time I'm going to purchase T1i for its better hi/res LCD.

This is my first DSLR that I've ever purchased. And I'm in love. It comes with everything you need to start, the pictures taken are super sharp, and the camera feels like new. Definitely worth the money.

This is the first DSLR I have purchased and am very happy with it. It's a great DSLR for those who are just starting out. The refurbished version is just as nice as the new one, so save yourself $200.

Great Deal, Great Camera, A++ Quality!
By 88flaminchevy
Anytime you purchase something labeled as "refurbished", you start to wonder if you made the right decision. Let me put your mind at ease, what a great buy! To start, the camera showed up in a Canon white box, factory sealed. Once I opened the box, I noticed everything nicely wrapped and padded. After an hour of carefully inspecting every inch of the camera and lens, I honestly can't find a single nick, scratch, or blemish! The camera and accessories look immaculate! I popped the batter...

For perfect photos, fast and simple, there's nothing better than Canon's new EOS Rebel XS. With powerful features including a 10.1-megapixel CMOS Sensor, Canon's DIGIC III processor, fast shooting and more, it's a digital powerhouse. With simple, easy-to-use controls, a compact design, a 2.5-inch LCD monitor and Live View Function, it's a beginner's dream come true.
Canon's CMOS (complementary metal oxide semiconductor) sensor captures images with exceptional clarity and tonal range and offers the most pixels in its class. It offers many of the same new technologies first seen in Canon's professional EOS-1D Mark III to maximize each pixel's light gathering efficiency. It's an APS-C size sensor (22.2 x 14.8mm) and there's an effective 1.6x increase in the lens's marked focal length when attached. Canon's DIGIC III Image Processor dramatically enhances image quality and speeds up all camera operations for intuitive operation.
It works in concert with the EOS Rebel XS's sensor to achieve unprecedented levels of performance in all lighting situations. DIGIC III Image Processor is developed to maximize performance between the capture and recording stages of digital photography, the EOS Rebel XS's DIGIC III Image Processor works hand in hand with Canon's CMOS sensor to achieve even higher levels of performance. The entire electronic system is totally redesigned, giving the camera its incredible combination of speed and image quality. Digital noise is significantly reduced in shadow areas and color reproduction is superior.
