The lens takes great pictures but is heavier and bulkier then I imagined. The specs didn't translate well into what I was imagining.

This is a great lens?.Takes super sharp pictures??I have to shoot in shifts?..Take a few shots then rest my arms?..I shot 4 hours at the zoo and was happy with every thing?..I did notice that only older people were using lenses that looked like this?..I love my choice?...

This has the longest zoom range of any telephoto I own, but comes in second to my Sigma 150-600 Sport Sigma for native sharpness. Unfortunately, to get one of these which produced sharp images, I had to return an "Open Box" model and pay some difference for a new one. (I appreciated the help of Jeff Phillips in making that exchange.) By stopping down one stop this matches the sharpness of my 150-600 Sport model wide open. I use it primarily with my Canon R5s and a Canon EF to RF mount converter, since that camera has no problem autofocusing at the resulting light levels. The extra zoom length would be welcome, were I to encounter an elk or moose at close quarters while I was out shooting smaller birds and mammals, as has twice happened to me when I was using other lenses which lacked this kind of zoom range. (I consider Sigma to be the best maker of telephoto zoom lens for Canon EF mounts, not only because of these two, but also because its 120-300mm f/2.8 Sport lens is the best telephoto zoom I have ever found for shooting creatures in low light situations.)

I can't say enough good things about this lens. Sharp, amazing range, and just about perfect for any situation. The only drawback is the weight, but the quality of the shots is a great tradeoff. I've shot all sorts of photos with this, from panoramic landscapes, to sports, to wildlife, to macro, to indoor theater. This thing is a beast, and despite the weight, has become my go-to walkaround lens.

Works perfect for my job as a birding guide with a passion for photography, sharp fast focus and feels well built and durable. It is heavy yes, but it is worth carrying it around! I've tried it from dry dry desserts to humid rainforests and no issues so far.

I obsessed over this lens for too long. I love Sigma lenses. Always feel like I'm getting much more than I paid for. I have the 24-70 F2.8 and the 70-200 F2.8 lenses from them as well. The 70-200 just didn't reach enough for my wildlife photographs. It's a great lens, but just cannot reach. I though about getting the 150-600mm, but I have found that for wildlife on the move, it can be hard to find them at 150mm. So, the extra field of view of the 60-600 really appealed to me. So, I with a plan to spend 9 days in the Black Elk wilderness, I made the purchase. First off, like others have said, yes...it is absolutely huge. I have a Canon RP and this thing dwarfs it. Yes, it is heavy. Yes, you will want the tripod at times. However, you can handhold it and it functions quite well. Focus can be a bit slow - even when you restrict it - any you have to know when to focus/re-focus on moving targets (like a bird in flight). Beyond that, I have no regrets.

This lens has a solid build quality. It focuses quickly and precisely with ultra-sharp results throughout its extraordinary zoom range. The lens demonstrates great vibration reduction when coupled with Nikon Z mirrorless camera bodies and the FTZ adapter.

Quick auto focus and a lot better than the Nikon 200-500 I had before. Highly recommend this lens.

The range of this lens is phenomenal, but even more than that, the clarity is nothing short of amazing. Tack-sharp focus from edge to edge across the zoom range. The image stabilizer blows me away - I can be shooting at 600mm handheld and I get a steady shot. I have a hard time getting that from my 24-105mm go-to lens! Not cheap, but has allowed some amazing wildlife photography - very happy I purchased it!

I ordered the sigma 60 to 600 back in July and it was on backorder. I just received it last week and it was well worth the wait. It's sharp across the whole range and slightly sharper at the 600mm focal length. The build is awesome and the optic stabilization is amazing. It focuses fast on my D500 and D850. Thank you Adorama for all the extras that you bundle with most products

This lens is OK++. Its heavy (I knew that), but it could be a just a little sharper and the AF could certainly be faster. Canon R5 animal eye detection does not seem to work as well with this lens as my Canon RF 70-200. That being said, if you just want to extend your reach and have a lens with weather sealing that produces solid results, then this might just be for you, Overall I'm satisfied and would purchase again. Sigma should consider including a longer strap.

Just got this lens and absolutely impressed with the range and quality. I'm a diehard Nikon user, so this is only the second piece of glass I've owned that isn't Nikon.

Not as sharp as my Nikon 200-500mm lens at max distance, but with can be made very usable by adjusting the aperture down to f/10.0. Because the lens will have a max aperture of f/6.3 at 600mm, you will have to adjust ISO upward to maintain a decent shutter speed. When using this lens with a Nikon full frame camera it can reach out to 900mm in DX mode. You will need to dial in your settings before you go after that perfect long range shot of Big Foot.

Still learning the lense but fully satisfied with the performance. It is quite heavy but still hang holdable due to the very capable stabilization.

Focus is quick, at 600mm you may need to use a higher iso in early morning low light situations, especially with birds in flight. This lens is a beast, so hand holding it I used the tripod collar. Great lens for the price. I would purchase it again.

Beast of a lens
By WASHINGTON M.
So far this lens is just amazing and I am still learning how to use it but the picture quality is amazing and great. I got the lens to just help with my interest in birding and it has not disappointed. Right out the box i was able to use it and still carry it hand held for about 2 hours when I am out there shooting. I enjoy this lens and now been looking at more sigma lenses.
