The Yamaha A-S501 is a stellar performer. I paired it with my Kef Q150 speakers, connected a pro Bluetooth receiver, and my music sounds sweet and clear again; Jazz, pop and classical, it all sounds wonderful. I would highly recommend any of the Yamaha integrated amplifiers depending on your power requirements and budget, they're great.

It's a bit old school, in a good way. If your setup requires a 2-channel amp, it's hard to beat. The features work as expected, but it's more of a "set-it-and-forget-it" piece, rather than something to fidget with frequently. What it does best - is sound great - to my ears anyway.

Perfect match with my 80's era Klipsch Heresy's. Feeding it with my Yamaha CD player or Pandora I couldn't ask for more.

This is an amazing sounding amplifier with a beautiful vintage look that would look amazing in any media centre or HiFi rack/Stand. Thank goodness Yamaha managed to make a high quality excellent sounding amplifier with great power that is actually affordable for the average consumer. These days great sounding HiFi seems to be only accessible by the very wealthy and affordable options seem non existent aside from the Yamaha AS 301/501/801 series amps. This explains why used old hi fi gear is actually going up in price. There is a demand for affordable great sounding well built gear. I really hope Yamaha continues to deliver value at affordable price points.

This is a beautifully made, quality piece of equipment. At 80 watts per channel it is more than adequate to drive large speakers powerfully with crystal clear precision. I am very pleased with the unit and it performs flawlessly. The remote functions perfectly and can operate at a fairly large distance. There is one area for improvement and that is with the volume knob. It needs an LED light in it so you can tell what volume level you are at. There is no illumination and you have to be careful not to get blasted at high volume when starting a music source. Other than that to me it is perfect.

I've always love the Yamaha Products. The brand name , Product quality and sounds. Been happy with the product. The only thing that I have about it is there a way to connect an external power amp to S701 ? I wish I could get some answer to this question and how.

Paired with my Klipsch Speaker line-up it is a fantastic amp that punches way above it's rated RMS.

Main amp for my living room system, provides plenty of clean power. Convenient optical and coaxial connection for my digital audio sources, and the phono section sounds great also.

I picked this because of my experience with Yamaha stereo amps many years ago. I run a Fluence turntable, and a pair of floorstanding Klipsch speakers with this amp. I'm a fan of Yamaha's variable loudness feature.

This amp has exceeded my expectations by a mile. My father, and both my Uncle's are audiophiles.. and they use tube amps.. they all were stunned with the sound... My Heresys are reborn... I couldn't be happier!!!

A perfect balance of modern technology and classic aesthetics. Great for analog or digital. Replaced my 1980?s Denon with better sound, clean look, and a remote (it?s the little things). Would fully recommend to anyone stuck between decades.

I had given this unit a bad review, just three stars. The Pure Direct was unlistenable, very harsh. But another whole day of intense and varied music, (rock, jazz, classical, classic rock and hip-hop) and the A-S501 has burned in beautifully. I've never had a unit go from so bad to sooo very good. So if you get one, don't be like me. Be patient.

I have always bought Yamaha stereo equipment in the past. It works like the sun all the time ! So now I want 2 play & listen 2 music the way I did in yesterday's. Blast from the past. Still have my stash of LP's , so the A- S501BL is the first part of the foundation. Then Yamaha turn table , CD player , MartinLogan Motion speakers , this amp will drive them.

Personal use in man cave. Replaced a McIntosh MA 6100 Integrated amp that needed some repair which would have cost about what the A-S501 cost. I choose to replace it with the Yamaha because of a purchase I made in the early 80's, a Yamaha CA 610 II, that is still working great. A little was taken away and a little was added to the 501, but those changes by no means take away from the beautiful full unstrained sound. I would purchase it again.

I had a Yamaha receiver that I bought in the mid '90's that started to have intermittent issues. Now that I just use my Mac and iTunes for my home stereo source, all I needed was a quality amplifier instead of a tuner. After I did some Internet research, it seemed that this amplifier would work just fine. What really surprised me was the increase in the quality of sound out of the new amp! Using iTunes, my Mac, a Bluetooth connection, the Yamaha A-S501 amp, through M&K speakers and subwoofer produce a great sound. I am still impressed at the difference in the quality of sound! Bravo!!

This is a replacement for an old 85 watt per channel Yamaha (AX-490) amp. Provides good clean power. The DAC and subwoofer out are great features. The level of the volume dial is impossible to see from any distance, should have a small LED or some other visual marking. I need to learn a comfortable max volume. This volume dial must be pushed significantly further than on my old am to match the same volume level. To this point, I am very pleased.

I have wanted to play my LP's for many years since I disposed of my old audio system. I went to an audio shop, gave them my needs and budget, and asked them to come up with a compatible system. They did, which included my Yamaha a-s501. I am very happy! Jim

I bought this integrated amp after extensive research to replace my ailing Marantz. It's powering a pair of Vandersteen 2c speakers. The added clarity and warmth in all registers is simply astonishing. My music comes to life in a way that I'd never heard from my system. And, it's a great value. If you love music, get one!

I have had a 65-watt Yamaha Natural Sound CA-810 Integrated Amplifier for many years now. I bought it used, and although it is over 30 years old now, it still operates like new. I wanted to upgrade this venerable amp and was delighted to find out that Yamaha still made pretty much the same amplifier with almost the identical layout. I wanted a little more wattage for headroom so I went with the 85-watt A-S501. Having channels with record out capability is of primary importance to me. I use th...
