You will definitely need to download their custom app or pay for FiLMiC Pro and you will want to download their pdf manual from their website to really understand how to use it, but it is very slick!

With a payload max of 210g, what iPhone/case/Moment-lens grouping are you using? The iPhone 11 ProMax weighs 226g naked. First, what sane person wants to put a naked iPhone on a gimbal? Second, what sane person wants to risk gimbal burnout or breakdown? I don't understand why this gimbal is even on the list (unless Mini is your thing), since everything about Moment is accessory tools. Can someone with authority please explain?

I have had this Gimbal for a couple years now and had sometime to play with it so here is an honest review. 
 
If you set the position and do not touch it, it will provide decent enough stabilized footage however if you use the rear trigger system to re adjust (s this was intended for) i promise you will need to stabilize your footage in post wich sort of defeats the purpose of a gimbal. 
One thing that is very cool about this though is after you download the zy play ap you can use all of the controls on the gimbal while filming. 
 
 Anyways as I said as fair as I can be: its affordable and cool but not very smooth which is ironic given its name. A joystick will not allow as many shooting options bit would definitely be smoother

Sometimes this works, most of the time it’s super glitchy. I plan on trading it for a different gimble.

May have gotten a defective one

This is the best gimbal I have ever used. It may seem complex and clumsy at first sight. But after an hour you realize ist just intuitive and compact. You never need to touch your phone, everything can be done with the gimbals buttons. It’s also the best stabilization I’ve ever experienced.

The smooth 4 is actually really cool! I got it to get some more cinematic timing done with my anamorphic lens and some skate filming with my fisheye lens. 
Everything works well with the counter weight but I will say that when filming in front of you with the fisheye lens the actual smooth 4 is in the shot which is super annoying. I’m honestly pretty bummed about this. I kinda wish i didn’t spend money on the fish eye if I knew this was gonna be the case. 
Using the anamorphic lens is the same but you just have to move the phone further out on the mount so you don’t see the smooth 4 in the shot.

Quite nice strong gimbal which works well. I use it with Samsung S10 plus. Excellent for Moment lenses, it has no problem with extra weight. It is a bit more advanced so it is suitable for more experienced film makers or someone who is good with technology.

I have been using this a lot. I’ve been using it with my iPhone XR with some lens attachements on it. Super smooth movement as I walk around. Best feature is the follow focus ability. Such a huge deal when filming on mobile phones. When I go skating. Ow to film some clips my rig is super small. Phone, camera rig, extra battery charger. I love it.

I bought the gimbal to use with my Pixel 3 XL and have no complains with the experience. Very easy to set up and there are great tutorials on YouTube for using this gimbal with the filmic pro app.

When low end inexpensive handheld iPhone gimbals are true to specification, I'll get one.  NONE of them are SMOOTH. Unless you can float on air, walking with this beast in your hand will produce jabs.  Of course you can post process with software but why when it's advertised to be smooth. Till then, will depend on reality which is not so smooth but authentic.

I started using it two weeks ago with my iPhone and so far so good.

I was excited to receive this gimbal , after seeing many good reviews.  It came with no instructions, so I headed to Youtube for advice on how to operate.  The app has a guide , but moving on...My first use the app had many features, but the phone would never balance.  I've noticed that sometimes the Smooth 4 option shows in the app and sometimes it doesn't..I have to relaunch to app to get the option to show.. I want to write a good review, but since I was unable to get it to function...I cannot recommend this item, at least not Android Users.

Software Issues

I have the first version of the phone stabilizer, the crane for my larger cameras and now this unit.  Zhiyun production quality is what kept me as a customer. All of my units preform reliably.  This unit the smooth 4 has features that I welcomed, basically all of them included in this upgrade.  But it's what's missing that needs attention.  First is a joystick, my other units both have this function and I am accustomed to the controls.  This one lacks control over the up and down movements of the gimbal.  The provided front switch lacks in instant usability for the missing joy stick and it's clunky when you finally figure out how to use it. The lag it introduces into the process is unacceptable. It seems that Zhiyun could program the back thumb dial to allow a more joystick like function.  Second, the smooth 4 does not support Filmic Pro. Instead to gain access to some of the units features you can only use the Zhiyun camera app.  Overall its a solid unit with limitations.
