I love this lens! I am able to shoot a night in our little Victorian village handheld with my 25mm, f/1.2 lens. It fits well on my EM1, Mk. II and easily captures sharp images at ISO 6400. Probably the finest lens I have ever owned! I am a professional photographer.

I wanted a 50mm f1.2 FF equivalent lens in my collection having worked with a Canon RF 50 f1.2L lens in the past on a R5 full frame camera. I found it hard to believe a lens such as this one could approach the performance overall of the Canon. Well, it DOES. This Olympus 25 f1.2 Pro is every bit as sharp and has NO bad habits such as CA, LOCA or excessive flare. The build is pure pro all the way. So much lighter then the Canon yet all the similar character I wanted. This lens is absolutely for the discerning photographer that can appreciate flawless results.

Remarkably narrow depth of field at f/1.2. Not too heavy. Worth the price.

Fabulous, really improves the GH5, also great with the BMPCC4K. Renders surface textures nicely, which I feel the Panasonic lenses tend to lack.

The 25mm f1.2 Pro Lens is super fast and sharp with such a shallow depth of field- it's stunning. Oh, and it's weatherproof, and it came with a lens hood... My only regret is not buying into the pro lenses sooner than I did.

Money well spent for this versatile and fast prime. I've used it for concerts in tight spaces, and wow is all I can say. I use it more and more as an everyday lens option too, day and night shooting, like the good 'ol days of shooting film.

The lens is everything I wanted for the large amount of low-light photography I do in churches and monasteries. The bokeh is excellent for close-ups while the lens is sharp when used for wider angle shots. I shoot RAW and thus sharpen everything. The lens is substantial but not heavy. Good construction with a lens hood that locks. The clutch allows for easy manual focus without taking eyes from the view finder. In summary: A great lens and worth the cost.

This is a fantastic lens ... the bokeh is amazing, it could be used as an everyday or for portrait.

Another fantastic pro lens from Olympus. It is sharp wide open but not overly so which makes it perfect for portraits. The bokeh is amazingly smooth and looks more analog than digital. Focus is fast and accurate even at f/1.2. Probably the only prime I need for portraits.

This lens appears large and heavy for a normal lens, but it is very well balanced on the E-M1 mark II. I have only used it for one event, but with low light and fast moving pets the f/1.2 aperture provided sharp and blur free results. I was very happy to have the lens.

The 25 mm F 1.2 pro is my fourth Olympus pro lens, after the 12-40 F 2.8, 40-150 F 2.8, and 7-14 F 2.8 zooms, so first a few comments on the pro lens line in general. Amazing optical quality, features, and feel are why I keep coming back for more. Although hardly a professional photographer, these lens make me look and feel like one. That said, recognize that these lens have heft. While Olympus is recognized for quality 4/3 cameras that are smaller than the Nikon/Canon competition, attach one of the Olympus pro lens and you will be adding significant weight to your camera?and camera bag. For those wishing to travel light, the pro lens may not be for you. The 25 mm F 1.2 is a great walk-about lens in that what you see with the naked eye is what you see through the view finder. It also offers great low-light capability and bokeh pop. At F 1.2 you can literally take decent pictures in the dark. Just beware of the VERY shallow depth of field at F 1.2. Particularly for close subjects, you need to be very careful that you are focusing on exactly what you want since much of rest of the picture will be a blur. Because in auto or program mode, the camera will often default to F 1.2 in lower light situations, I?ve found it?s better for me to use aperture preferred so I can better control the depth of field. In sum, I like the lens, but unless you need a rugged pro lens with great low light and bokeh capabilities, this might not be the lens for you.

Out of all the new PRO prime lenses I thought this would be my least favorite but it turns out it's my favorite! I love this lens. It's really the perfect walk around lens. It renders beautiful bokeh. A little front heavy on smaller camera bodies but not uncomfortable to carry all day. I simply love putting this on the PenF and going on photo walks with nothing else. It does great in low light clubs. I've gotten some great concert photos with this lens.

If you need the best IQ, this has it. Great in low light, incredible resolution and contrast, smooth bokeh, solid build. Has pop/3d effect in the right scenario(s).

This lens is just super in low light - twilight is light mid-day when at f1.2. This is a very sharp lens with a super narrow depth of field. Pricey but nice.

So if you are looking at this lens and have done your research then you are trying to justify shelling out $1k+ for this glass. It is neither light nor small for a Micro 4/3 lens. It also costs $1.2k. So why get it over a 25mm f1.8 lens? Olympus made this lens large and heavy for a reason. Their goal? To design a lens with the best possible optical quality they are capable of designing. This lens ** IS ** Olympus and I believe they've succeeded. The lens is sharp corner to corner wide-open and only gets slightly sharper stopped down. Basically, the only reason to stop it down is if you want more depth of field. Otherwise, shoot it wide-open. The bokeh is smooth and creamy and has a Leica-feel to it. Subject separation from the background is acceptable for waist-up portraits, however for full-body shots you will want to use a longer focal length. This lens focuses quickly and quietly and I have not experienced any problems in that department. There is not much more to say. It is large, heavy and expensive for a Micro 4/3 system lens, but if you're willing to accept that then you will have what is possibly the best lens Olympus ever made. Beautiful bokeh, razor sharp images and Leica-like feel. This is a lens that you will keep for a very long time. As a side note, I have all 3 Nokton lenses and while they are all terrific. They are manual focus and soft-ish wide-open (which is sometimes desirable for portraits). This lens is sharper wide open than all of the Nokton lenses and the only lens that matches this lens is the Panasonic Leica Nocticron 42.5mm f1.2.

First, let me say it's not "big." From Internet reviews, I was concerned about size. Let me put your concerns to rest: this lens feels great on the E-M1 Mk2 and takes awesome pics. After using it for a few days, I sold my Olympus 35mm f1.8 AND my Lumix Leica 25mm f1.4. Image quality is fantastic, with great contrast and tack sharp focus corner-to-corner. I absolutely LOVE this lens and think if you're in the mark for a "50-ish" focal length, then get it!

Excellent optically and structurally.. Especially like the focusing ring clutch which allows changing from AF to MF rapidly. Lens is bulky and very heavy but what do you expect with all that glass.

Weather sealed and well constructed, and not too large. sharp in the center wide open, when stopped down quality improves well, bokeh is smooth and never rough. It's my inclement weather travel/bad weather hiking lens.

Exceptional Sharpness
It's all about the glass. Our 25mm f1.2 PRO achieves spectacular edge-to-edge sharpness - even at the maximum f1.2 aperture - thanks to its incredible collection of glass. We've assembled 19 lens elements into 14 groups to create the most complex Micro Four Thirds lens ever made, including Super ED, ED, E-HR, HR, and aspherical elements. Spherical and chromatic aberrations that often occur in fast, prime lenses are eliminated. Color fringing is thoroughly suppressed. All that's left are clear, crisp images you can't wait to show off.
The Most Beautiful Bokeh
If you love shooting with shallow depth of field, the 25mm f1.2 PRO does it beautifully. Its high optical performance eliminates aberrations, distortion, and fringing in both focused and defocused areas, even with a wide open f1.2 stop. Paired with the ultra-high resolution of the focused areas, the defocused background creates a natural looking three-dimensional effect. Shoot stunning portraits with sharp details and beautiful bokeh that emphasizes your subject in both bright and low light.
Exhilaratingly-Fast Autofocus
Many autofocus lenses have a trade-off: they use multiple moving elements to reduce aberration, but their focusing speed slows down as a result. Fortunately, there are no sacrifices with the 25mm f1.2 PRO. At the heart of its design is a lightweight inner focusing mechanism that uses a single lens element. It provides ultra-fast ultra-sharp autofocus performance, even at the lens' widest f1.2 aperture. The Movie and Still Compatible mechanism provides quiet, smooth focusing - a must have for videographers.
Technology Creates Versatility
The 25mm f1.2 PRO uses a tandem of coatings for ultimate shooting versatility. Zuiko Extra-Low Reflection Optical (ZERO) lens coating is adapted from multi-layer film disposition technology in Olympus' industry-leading microscopes. Z Coating Nano, our most advanced coating yet, adds nanoparticle technology for increased effectiveness. Ghosting and flares caused by in-frame light sources are virtually eliminated. Whether shooting directly into the sun or other backlit environments, your images stay rich in detail with superior resolution.
Weatherproofed to Never Miss a Shot
Shoot in adverse conditions without worrying about your lens. The premium metal construction of the 25mm f1.2 PRO is hermetically sealed to keep out moisture and dust for splashproof, dustproof, and freezeproof performance (all the way down to 14deg. F / -10deg. C). This professional lens is the perfect complement to a weatherproof OM-D body, a combination that's ideal for taking advantage of every photo opportunity.
PRO Control
Pros need effortless control of their gear. The 25mm f1.2 PRO lens delivers. The customizable Lens Function Button (L-Fn) lets you control your choice of camera functions right from the lens barrel, including Focus Peaking, AF Stop, and Magnify. The conveniently-located Manual Focus Clutch on the lens' focus ring lets you instantly shift between auto and manual focus. You can even preset a focus position using the easy-to-read distance meter, and by pulling the ring toward you, instantly return to that position from AF mode.
