For live sound recording these mics can be incomspiculously placed on stage. You may want to mix the boundary mic with a condensor mic (like the AT2020) placed on the sides of the stage. The combination of phase coeherent and none coeherent sound can sound more natural. Due to their great sensativity, they have a huge feedback potential for live sound. I have used them as a piano mic. In this case the raised lid of the piano (my boundary) was also hearing the fiddler a few feet away. The boundary mics ability to hear everything is both its strenght and it weakness. When working with a videographer, the sound from the boundary mics is much better than camera mounted "shotgun" mics.
