PROs: - It does what it’s meant to do. CONs, - the mode change does not play seamlessly well with wireless joystick and force. It will remap your channels. - it says “long range” but it’s wired, not wireless, and the wired cable is very short - took a minute to figure out those slots were for an unincluded veclro strap - the feel of operating it, the spring load on the joystick is too stiff. Makes doing 2 axis at once very hard.

This was a great addition to my original purchase of the dji ronin. This allows me to single handily control all aspects of my gimbal control. This is huge when I am really shooting something that really requires different pan shots with ease. I do a lot of automotive videography and doing my job with out this controller would leave me with shots I am not pleased with. Hands down buy this with the gimbal don’t wait it is worth every penny!

I've managed to use my Ronin-M effectively for over a year now without needing a thumb controller. The Ronin itself can be operated very smoothly and can achieve most (if not all) of the shots you need it to without the controller, but being able to articulate the camera without moving your arms is a nice option to have. NOTE: if you're having issues connecting the thumb controller to your ronin/ronin-m, check to make sure the firmware for BOTH units are updated. Without the correct firmware, the thumb controller will have a difficult time connecting and operating smoothly.

I ordered this thumb controller at the same time I placed my order for the DJI Ronin M. I knew in advance that I didn't want to be fiddling with the remote control unit that looks like it belongs with the DJI Phantom Quad series. I do most of my video work alone and needed to be able to tilt and pan the camera while operating the Ronin. The responses are perfectly tuned right out of the box. I changed nothing and went straight to using it. Paired it up with the Ronin M and installed it perfectly for my right hand thumb. If you're going to work alone, get this controller. The battery life on this is far longer than that of the Ronin M, so that is not an issue. Mounts firmly and quickly, feels solid and performs with very light touches. Definitely recommend this to anyone using the Ronin or Ronin M.

A must have if you want a cinematic tilt while you are on the move. Easy to configure and use. Quick to link up to the ronin m. Best of all, you don't need wires or batteries.

This piece of equipment is definitely worth the purchase. I feel like you have more control of your gimbal other just the movement of your camera with your arms! You'll love having the wireless control, available when you need it!
