I have been using this battery grip for a few years now. It really makes the whole camera feel stable and adds the weight I like in the camera. If I want to take it off, I can but it does add the extended time to taking photos without changing the batteries.

Basic accessory, but well built and reliable. I like the switch to deactivate the controls on it, since I mostly use it for battery life, and this prevents accidental settings changes.

I love the original Canon Grips! Never a problem, but so many issues with generic ones... totally worth the extra money!

I previously had a Vello batter grip for Canon because I just didn't want to cough up the money for the Canon brand grip. And while the Vello worked well for the most part for a long time, it began to act up and wasn't consistently talking to the main camera body, which was resulting in lost shots and missed moments (NOT good). Hence my purchase of the Canon grip. While I still feel that it's overpriced, the Canon grip feels more solid and substantial to me as compared to the Vello grip. The locking mechanism feels less flimsy and like it will stay locked and closed better than the Vello did. I also feel like the battery tray is better in the Canon. The joystick on the back seems more recessed and doesn't stick out as far as the Vello (which is nice - that joystick is easy to rip off). Overall, it's a better build. But I still wish they'd knock the price down some.

I would recommend this product in spite of the weight it adds to the Camera, but it also provides the assurrance of not dropping the camera. It has a great feel through I knew what to expect because I also used these power supplies on my Canon EOS 1v and my Elan 7 backup.

Over the years, experience has led me to become largely a name-brand consumer. For me, scuttling Murphy's Law is a priority. No regrets here. Great quality, fit, and performance.

The Canon BG-E11 Battery Grip is an excellent accessory. It makes controlling the camera easier and improves the grip. I find it to be a welcome addition when shooting though out the day without having to change batteries.

Before I bought the official Canon battery grip I went with a Neewer "BG-E11" battery grip, and it ended up causing quite a few problems with my camera. The auto-focus wouldn't work, and the shutter was dodgy. So far I have had 0 problems with this grip. It feels much more rigid, reliable, and has worked 100% of the time. The buttons feel perfect and responsive, although it does make the camera even more bulky. I would recommend this grip to someone who needs reliability and longevity.

Works really well. Provides needed balance and grip when using long and heavy telephoto lens.

I bought this batt grip to use with my 5D MkIII. The primary purpose for it was to give myself a better handle when taking portrait shots with heavy "L" lenses. And this grip did the trick!! I don't feel like my wrist is going to break anymore, nor do I feel like I'll get arthritis of the wrist someday ;-) To my surprise, I used two of the newer generation batteries and I feel as though the camera has better performance when shooting in continuous. Also, the build quality feels as though it's truly an original part of the camera. Especially with the built in controls. Highly recommended this grip.

I haven't had my 5D Mark III body very long and decided that the battery grip would be a good idea. I've had the 5D Mark II since it was introduced and the grip for that as long. This grip is a great improvement over it's predecessor. The addition of the joy stick makes a big difference to me. The camera with battery grip and lens id definitely a hefty package so I'll be interested to see how tired I get after a 3 or 4 hour session but I'm sure the convenience will pay off after we get to know each other.

I use this grip primarily when I'm shooting weddings. It is a great accessory to have! There are less expensive versions on the market but I prefer Canon's build and quality materials. Couldn't live without this!

Just got the Mark III, then had to wait for the battery grip. Adorama mistakenly shipped the wrong grip. I called and they advised me to send the wrong one back and they sent the correct one to me. Got it, attached it to the Mark III. One of the best features of the BG-E11/ Mark III is that it uses the same battery as my EOS 70 D. Great. Have not been out in the field testing both, will do so. Anticipate no problems.

I had a grip on a previous canon body and I don't recall it being this big but in the end it just plain works. I was looking to increase battery shooting time and well as a more natural hold when shooting vertical. This grip does it all very well. Additionally it is very well built.

Love the way this grip fits the hands. Also the convenience of another shutter button so you are not reaching over the top of the camera when shooting in portrait mode.

I purchased this as an option when I began having issues with my elbow hurting, this allows me to change the form of my arm and not be in pain. Shooting 35 weddings a year it's essential. As always adorama does a fantastic job in their service and delivery.

I have big hands & shoot vertical often, so this is much needed. I was impressed how much nicer this grip is than the Canon 7d version. More padding & joystick. Also it's nice that the batteries load in from the side & not the back. This allows for better padding/grip coverage on the back. Also I don't see it wearing like my 7d grip has. It's better built & you can see/feel the difference straight away. I don't know how this compares to 3rd party grips. My motto is pay now or pay later. Just buy the canon one & have no worries. Thanks Adorama

I waited a long time for this to come on sale & it has not.The price is high.So with that being said I finally bought it.I kepted checking on after market ones but it just didn't feels right to buy a $**** dollar camera and not get the best out there for it.We shoot a lot of weddings & events that take hours so we go thru several batteries, with the grips I haven't had to change out yet,but the main reason I got the grip is the balance it gives especially with the canon L series lens.Even with the extra weight it just feels right in my hands.I knowed the quality & balance I would be getting with canon,we have grips on all our back up cameras (50d,7ds)as well as the extended battery life.If you shoot a lot especially with L series lens I would recommend this.I'll be getting another one for my wife's camera after she used mine. She is a lot smaller than me at 5' 5" with hands about half the size of mine but also has said the balance it gives has taken away most ofthe strain that was put on her wrists without. We shoot mostly the 24-70mm & 70-200mm lens & sometimes the 85mm.Hope this has helped.

I like the extra battery life and ease of shooting this grip affords you. It is a little over priced in my opinion but I must admit it feels just like it's built onto to the camera with a few quick twists of the fastener. I haven't tried any of the cheaper third party versions so I may be a little too focused on the price but that's my main complaint. It is also a little bulky so I probably wouldn't carry it unless I know I'll need the extra battery life or will be shooting mainly in portrait style.

I went from my grip on my Classic 5D to this grip on my new 5D Mark III and I am so happy with this grip. I can toggle my AF points so much faster on this grip and it fits better in my hand than the grip on my Classic. 5 stars

I do not have small hands. This battery grip improves the feel of my 5dmarkIII when holding the camera in landscape mode. The materials are not bad and there are no annoying gaps. The grip has a good fit and look with the camera. What I do not like is the feel while holding the grip in portrait orientation. The rear contour of the grip is uncomfortable and the shutter button feels cheep, too small, not as deep or resilient as the camera's shutter button. Canon should have copied the design of the 1d shutter design (identical to landscape shutter) instead of being cheap. Also Canon should have mounedt the controls lower for better center of gravity while holding the grip for portraits like Sony did with their Battery grips. The controls on the BG-E11 are just too high on the grip, it really feels awkward and cheap for the price. Not worth the money.
