Sharper Than You Think - Great with the Fisheye attached to It

Some people complain about the sharpness when it's wide open but I don't see any problem with it. Very nice in crowded places. I do mostly street photography. Also, I attach the Sony fish-eye lens converter to this and it's unbelievably good. Great fun!

Compact, Light, Sharp And Fast

I really like this little lens. I took it indoors at the Philadelphia Flower Show. It really performed well even in low light. It was good even on some closeups. Nice bokeh and focusing.

Small, fast, sharp

Perfect focal length for me. It's nice that I can carry a smaller case or just the lens mounted to my X-T3. Focus is spot on.

Sharp, Compact, Highly Useful 40mm Equivalent Lens

This is the second time I have owned this lens. I decided that I didn’t need my first copy any longer after I purchased the X100F. Boy, was I wrong! There’s a significant difference in the perspectives between the 23mm on the X100F and the XF 27mm lens. I found myself really missing it and how compact it was on my x-pro2. A very reasonably price, lovely little lens. Highly recommended.

Perfect travel lens when size and weight is important

With X-T20 on E-shutter, the combo becomes a perfect travel camera (in bad weather, it fits in small anti theft bags and purses). It is a perfect focal length for people photography and yet can handle interiors (I was shooting inside churches where being discreet is even more important).

Great lens in a tiny package

This lens is great, especially for its size and price. It takes very clear pictures and I'm very happy with it.

Must have for x shooters

Small and sharp, makes the x-t20 a pocket camera. Fits in a glove compartment attached to the camera. The only down side is the af is a bit slow and noisy. Bad for continuous af. This is my default lens.

The term "little gem" perfectly fits this lens

Low element count. Very sharp. Beautiful color and great micro contrast. Fast auto focus on my XT2. This lens is tiny. Perfect if you're looking for a small footprint. It's only f2.8 but if it were faster it would be bigger which would defeat the very purpose of this lens. Everything in photography is a compromise/trade-off. Want a faster lens? Get the 23mm f1.4 or the 35mm f1.4 which are larger, heavier and have a higher element count.

Compact and Sharp

I purchased this lens to put on my XE-1 body. It is fast. It focuses well. I like the angle of view. I like the size. I keep it on my XE-1 and I can easily carry it in my purse of jacket pocket. I am a professor and I use it at school at lot to take pictures of student projects and it provides good quality in a small size.

Street. shooter's delight.

Inconspicuous, sharp, light and overall joy for the price. No aperture ring (not a huge deal) and slightly plasticy build. But images are wonderful. Again, for the price, IQ and small size...hard to beat value.

Super For Walkaround Option

I have the Fuji X-M1 and this little lens is perfect for travel/street photography. It turns my camera into something I can put in a jacket pocket and have handy any time, any place. Works well in low light but, with no image stabilization, low shutter speed is something to monitor.

Great Little Performer

I haven't used it as much as I expected but for times when compact easy-carry matters, it excels. I find it very sharp and solid performing. It compares favorably with my other optics for my XE-1.

Spectacular optics in a tiny package

The 27mm provides a great "normal" perspective on the Fuji X size sensor. The color and sharpness are of the same high caliber as the other X lenses. The X-E2 with the 27 attached is barely bigger than the X100 which makes this setup ideal for everyday carry and travel. I highly recommend this lens with two caveats: This is the only lens in the XF line-up (currently) that lacks an aperture ring. While that is an understandable decision based on the incredbily small size of the lens barrel, it does make it slightly inconsistent in handling when switching between the 27 and other XF lenses if you are used to using the aperture ring. The X-E2 (and perhaps other X bodies) allows XF lenses with aperture rings to be controlled via the command dial just like the 27mm so you can use that function to make handling more consistent across all your lenses. Another ommision that is understandable due to the minimalist approach in design is the lack of a dedicated hood with this lens. Another inconsistency with all other X lenses. Many other similar size and foclal length pancake lenses from other brands have historically provided decent hoods for their small lenses (Voigtlander 40mm, Pentax 21mm). I am a "hoodie" so I would have appreciated a nice dedicated hood.

Works Great

I was hoping that Fuji would release a compact 23mm F2.8 lens but they released the very large 23mm 1.4. So I got the 27mm for my X-E1. I could not be happier. It's compact, takes great photos and the camera with lens will fit in a jacket or vest pocket

Product Highlights

  • Fast, capable autofocus is a must-have if you want consistency, and the high-torque DC coreless motor here doesn’t only provide that, but does it stealthily.

  • The HT-EBC lens coating from Fujinon offers reduced flares and “ghosting,” which means your images will always turn out sharp and crisp with your Fuji 27mm lens.

Learn about the FUJI X-F 27 MM (41MM) F2.8 R LENS-BLACK

Portable, affordable, and utterly capable rarely come together in one singular photographic package, but the FUJI X-F 27 MM (41MM) F2.8 R LENS-BLACK is a rare kind of lens: it’s used to topping expectations. Even Adorama’s expectations. And why not? Featuring everything from a versatile focal length of 35mm equivalent up to 41mm and a 55.5-degree field of view, this lens is more than the sum of its parts: it’s a complete package for anyone who wants to add a weapon to their photographic arsenal. This is particularly true if you’re a fan of the ever-popular Fujifilm X series and want to add an interchangeable lens camera with an APS-C sensor. Not only will this lens add versatility to your photography capabilities, but it will make you a more capable photographer. Here’s how.

  • Let’s talk focal length. It’s one of the most popular topics of discussion for anyone interested in a lens, whether you’re investing in a telescope to view the planets or simply want to find a photography lens that produces sharp, consistent images. What’s the focal length of the Fuji 27mm lens? You’re looking at 35mm equivalent up to 41mm. Packed along with the aforementioned 55.5-degree angle of view and you’ve got yourself a lens capable of handling more than just portraits: it will be capable of landscapes, live events, and so much more. That’s a surprising amount of focal length for a lens of this design, giving you both portability and capability.
  • Fast and accurate autofocus is a must-have for anyone who wants a lens that’s capable of working just as hard as they do. That’s what you’ll get with the Fuji 27mm lens, thanks to a high-torque DC coreless motor. You’d be amazed at what you can put this lens through when you demand it handle its focus quickly and silently. It has the durability to keep on providing the right amount of focus and clarity in each shot, even if you keep switching from short to long-range shots and subjects. This makes it an ideal matchup for any live event—we’re looking at you, wedding receptions.
  • Perfect for the mirrorless camera form factors from the Fujifilm X-series. Anyone who knows the Fujifilm X-series knows that a stunning amount of clarity in each shot is possible if you have the right lens t match the camera. This is that lens, as the Fuji 27mm lens can provide clarity with consistency, ensuring that each shot is in focus, with the subject and details properly handled. Add this lens to your repertoire and you’ll add on to your preexisting Fujifilm X-series capabilities.
  • The aspherical lens element helps to minimize aberrations, giving you the option of producing sharp images, even when there’s not a lot of contrasting light to grab. This “minimal noise” in your photos will give you a leg-up on your competition, whether you’re competing for social media attention or actually competing with the portfolios of other professional photographers.
  • Lightweight. The design of this lens is perfect for someone who wants something a little more mobile than your typical bulky, high-zoom lens. Compare that to the 23mm Fuji lens.

You may think the FUJI X-F 27 MM (41MM) F2.8 R LENS-BLACK looks like just another part of the Fujifilm X-series available here at Adorama, but there’s more here than meets the lens—er, eye. Here you’ll find plenty of features, flexible focal length, and a lens that’s affordable and lightweight and high performing—a rare picture indeed.
