Not having the aperture marks on the lens is a problem for me

Some people complain about the sharpness when it's wide open but I don't see any problem with it. Very nice in crowded places. I do mostly street photography. Also, I attach the Sony fish-eye lens converter to this and it's unbelievably good. Great fun!

I really like this little lens. I took it indoors at the Philadelphia Flower Show. It really performed well even in low light. It was good even on some closeups. Nice bokeh and focusing.

Perfect focal length for me. It's nice that I can carry a smaller case or just the lens mounted to my X-T3. Focus is spot on.

This is the second time I have owned this lens. I decided that I didn’t need my first copy any longer after I purchased the X100F. Boy, was I wrong! There’s a significant difference in the perspectives between the 23mm on the X100F and the XF 27mm lens. I found myself really missing it and how compact it was on my x-pro2. A very reasonably price, lovely little lens. Highly recommended.

With X-T20 on E-shutter, the combo becomes a perfect travel camera (in bad weather, it fits in small anti theft bags and purses). It is a perfect focal length for people photography and yet can handle interiors (I was shooting inside churches where being discreet is even more important).

This lens is great, especially for its size and price. It takes very clear pictures and I'm very happy with it.

Small and sharp, makes the x-t20 a pocket camera. Fits in a glove compartment attached to the camera. The only down side is the af is a bit slow and noisy. Bad for continuous af. This is my default lens.

Low element count. Very sharp. Beautiful color and great micro contrast. Fast auto focus on my XT2. This lens is tiny. Perfect if you're looking for a small footprint. It's only f2.8 but if it were faster it would be bigger which would defeat the very purpose of this lens. Everything in photography is a compromise/trade-off. Want a faster lens? Get the 23mm f1.4 or the 35mm f1.4 which are larger, heavier and have a higher element count.

I purchased this lens to put on my XE-1 body. It is fast. It focuses well. I like the angle of view. I like the size. I keep it on my XE-1 and I can easily carry it in my purse of jacket pocket. I am a professor and I use it at school at lot to take pictures of student projects and it provides good quality in a small size.

Small, sharp what more can you ask. Oh ya it's cheap too.

Inconspicuous, sharp, light and overall joy for the price. No aperture ring (not a huge deal) and slightly plasticy build. But images are wonderful. Again, for the price, IQ and small size...hard to beat value.

I have the Fuji X-M1 and this little lens is perfect for travel/street photography. It turns my camera into something I can put in a jacket pocket and have handy any time, any place. Works well in low light but, with no image stabilization, low shutter speed is something to monitor.

I haven't used it as much as I expected but for times when compact easy-carry matters, it excels. I find it very sharp and solid performing. It compares favorably with my other optics for my XE-1.

The 27mm provides a great "normal" perspective on the Fuji X size sensor. The color and sharpness are of the same high caliber as the other X lenses. The X-E2 with the 27 attached is barely bigger than the X100 which makes this setup ideal for everyday carry and travel. I highly recommend this lens with two caveats: This is the only lens in the XF line-up (currently) that lacks an aperture ring. While that is an understandable decision based on the incredbily small size of the lens barrel, it does make it slightly inconsistent in handling when switching between the 27 and other XF lenses if you are used to using the aperture ring. The X-E2 (and perhaps other X bodies) allows XF lenses with aperture rings to be controlled via the command dial just like the 27mm so you can use that function to make handling more consistent across all your lenses. Another ommision that is understandable due to the minimalist approach in design is the lack of a dedicated hood with this lens. Another inconsistency with all other X lenses. Many other similar size and foclal length pancake lenses from other brands have historically provided decent hoods for their small lenses (Voigtlander 40mm, Pentax 21mm). I am a "hoodie" so I would have appreciated a nice dedicated hood.

I was hoping that Fuji would release a compact 23mm F2.8 lens but they released the very large 23mm 1.4. So I got the 27mm for my X-E1. I could not be happier. It's compact, takes great photos and the camera with lens will fit in a jacket or vest pocket
