I have several pro-grade lenses to use, including the nikon 70-200 f/2.8, which is a pretty sharp lens. The Oly is not in the same league... But, the images it produces on the GH4 are pretty darn sharp for a lens under $100. Give it enough light, and it's awesome. I've used the kit zooms from just about every manufacturer, and this lens is better. Period.

This lens is a very good value especially when you factor the crop factor of the micro 4/3.

best for portrait and landscape, light weight, easy to carry, but the plastic lens mount are not great at all.

Used on Olympus E-P3 as a scenery and landscape lends. Pictures were nicely in-focus and lens focus capture was good except in low light which is an issue with the E-P3 not necessarily this lens. The first day after receiving the lens I was able to take some great moonlit shots of the Florida backbay. I wish I had waited for a new telephoto just offered by Adorama with a greater range, though twice the cost. A real bargain for a nice mid-range telephoto lens.

It's a good lens for the price, but it isn't going to win any prizes. The focus is slow in all but very bright light, which is not really a big surprise given the slowness of the lens. There's also a learning curve involved in working with such a long lens in this format and I suspect I will get better results after I've put a little more time into working out the kinks. Meanwhile, though, for the price and for the purposes for which I bought it, it will do. There aren't a lot of lenses in this range for this camera and everything I found had similar specs. Until there's a better option, this will do.

This is a beast for its size. It is almost 1/5th the weight of its equivalents in the full size SLR world. Makes life easy when your gear is so light and portable. Especially when you are going outdoors for some creative snaps, you don't want to be building your muscles carrying all the weight, but again you need all the power to zoom or wide..which means you need to carry many lenses, and when these become so light and compact its like a dream.
