Great camera lens and great pickup experience. This lens is telescoped lens, with large aperture it creates deep depth of field so you can focus on your model

I've owned a lot of 50-58mm lenses. If you get into adapted vintage lenses it's inevitable. Previously my favorites were Takumars and Meyer Optik Görlitz models with significant bokeh artifacts. Which I cherish for their idiosyncratic rendering, if the color and contrast are a bit faded. The Fuji 56mm is quite different. It brings to mind the legendary Canon 85mm f1.2 L. It somehow is razor sharp at f1.2 corner to corner yet equally characterful with great rendering, contrast, color and detail. Also like the Canon 85mm L it stumbles a bit at AF. Since it must throw a rather heavy mass back and forth when AF-ing. A couple years ago I got to try the new 50mm f1.0 and the 56mm f1.2 at a Fuji event. The 50mm was supposed to be the coveted new hotness. But I couldn't get past the depth of the images the 56mm gave me. In short, if it's an artistic image, this lens makes it just a little more artistic.

started using this and the 1.2 is phenomenal. Crisp images. A bit larger than what I expected, but great lens for a great price.

Super great service from Adorama per usual, Kevin is great! This lens is also amazing - bokeh is buttery smooth, lens is fast and produces some great shots. This is primarily the lens I use for fly fishing shots, would highly recommend.

Although a bit dated this lens still surprises me with its character and distinct looks, not clinical and sterile as Sony or Canon ones.

If you are doing any sort of serious portrait work in the Fuji X mount system, then this is the lens. The crispness and bokeh on this lens precedes itself so I don?t need to waffle on about it. One of the best x mount lenses around.

I bought this a long time ago, with my first Fuji camera. It's a great portrait lens, although I'd have to say that I almost never use it wide open; I generally stop it down to f2.8 or so in order to get both the subject's nose AND ears in focus at the same time. Well built and sharp, it has Fuji's earliest auto-focus motors, Focuses fairly quickly but with noticeable jerks and bumps. Funny that Fuji didn't fix this in the new version of the lens. The Fuji 60mm f2.5 is just as good for portraits, cheaper, and underappreciated.

I use this lens almost exclusively for portraits and headshots. Incredibly sharp and fast. It's also much smaller than the 85mm full frame equivalents I had with Canon without sacrificing quality. If I didn't shoot portraits and headshots, I don't think I would use it much, but if you do, get one.

Very happy - a high quality lens paired with a high quality filter. The filter won?t compromise what you spent on the lens and will protect it. Lens is great on people.

Dreamy. Beautiful. Magic. I love this lens. If you don't have the schmeckles to pull the trigger on the 50mm 1.0, this is your next best bet. It's heavy but in a good, substantial way. Super crisp north of 1.8. At 1.2 it's a little soft but wonderful in its own way. Highly recommend.

Beautiful results every time. Sharp and solid. Not weather sealed and not the fastest AF but still one of the best Fuji makes.

Super image quality as expected. Best in class "bokeh" as expected. A bit large and heavy (as expected). The best portrait lens in the Fuji X series line up IMO. The only drawback (for me) is the body of the lens consists almost entirely of the manual focus ring, which is great if you are a manual focus photographer. The fly by wire type manual focus was less preferred by me as I use auto focus for portraiture and found the focus ring to be a hindrance (for me anyway). It might be just what someone else really likes about it though.

It’s a great lens and I really wanted it and am satisfied but in retrospect I think instead of all the great primes I might have gone with the two expensive zoom lenses 16-55 and 55-140 instead.

This is the lens I’ve been needing to create beautiful portraits. It pairs perfectly with my Fujifilm XT3. The lens has fast focus capabilities and the images are sharp.

Very sharp lens. Focusing is a little slow but gives you depth of field almost as shallow as an 85 1.8 on full frame. On my X-T1 this lens lets the camera see in the dark. My complaint is the same as with any Fuji lens. Great quality but virtually any lens that gives you the same angle of view on full frame is less money.

Bokelicous! And nice and sharp. But slower, noisier and less consistent at focusing. Could use more aperture blades to keep bokeh-balls round when stopping down a little. Build isn’t built as tight has the small Fujicron f/2 lenses, either. When hand held, make sure to set minimum shutter speed to 1/80th or faster to prevent camera shake blur.

This len is the best I have right now. The quality compare to the xf 35 f2 or 18-55 f2.8-f4 is much better if you want to shot portrait.

I researched all of the fuji x-mount lens options and the 56mm 1.2 was a must have for me. Wow. It has not disappointed: Incredible bokeh, reasonable shooting distance from the subject, and great low light capability. This is some incredible glass.

What we learned about the immediate future of photography, digital cameras and camcorders
The Fujifilm X-Pro 1 is part of a fast-growing ecosystem that, amazingly, is only a couple of years old. It’s older sibling, the Fujiflm X1, offers a DSLR-like experience but is based on the same sensor as the X-Pro 1. Here's our guide to the lenses ...
Worth every penny - but am I smart enough?

An exceptional lens, what I always expected from my Leica 90 2.8 Elmarit. The only problem is I also own the Fuji 90 f2.0 and prefer that focal length. These are both superlative. Had to capture pictures of a newborn in a room full of crowding relatives and only 2 shaded 100 watt bulbs in distant corners. The 56 1.2 was excellent, saved the day. We are in a new era of outstanding performance for which my only precedent was with my Leica optics in the old days. Beware getting too many F...

best XF lens so far
By RENE D.
This lens has surpassed my XF 35mm(50mm), which I believe was the best XF lens Fuji had made to date. This lens is perfect for portraiture, has incredible optics, sharpness and bokeh. It is very fast, works wonderfully in low light and is very well made. Feels a serious as the price. I've used it in my XT-1 and it's only a little bit unbalanced for the camera because of its weight. Not that is a heavy lens, but just compared with the weight of the XT-1. The battery handgrip would be an excell...

The Fujifilm XF 56mm (85mm) F/1.2 Lens is designed to fit the Fujifilm X series APS-C-sized mirrorless digital cameras. A prime portrait-length lens, it provides a 35mm-equivalent focal length of 85mm. A bright f 1.2 maximum aperture greatly benefits selective focus control and also aids in shooting in low-light conditions.
A powerful 56mm lens, it features an internal focusing system, as well as the use of a stepping AF motor. This focusing system, and stepping AF motor ensure quiet, smooth, and precise focusing capabilities that are ideal for both still and video applications. One double-sided aspherical element, two extra-low dispersion elements, and four front-facing convex elements are integrated into the optical design to reduce chromatic aberrations and to benefit overall image clarity and sharpness.
An HT-EBC multi-layer coating helps to minimize ghosting and lens flare for higher contrast and an additional coating has been applied to the rear side of the front-most lens element to further reduce ghosting that is common to lens designs with deep concave elements.
