Nikon colors, swift and reliable autofocus, and a pleasing retro aesthetic combined with an excellent S series lens makes a compelling package. Added a SmallRig grip for easier one-handed carrying, though not at all needed if carrying with a neck strap. Battery life and image stabilization are also first-rate.

The image quality of this camera is top notch. I was pleased to discover that my Canon EF glass adapts seamlessly to the Nikon Z mount. I purchased the Zf because I am also a Fuji shooter, but have been wanting a full frame sensor on a camera with tactile controls, and Fuji has not caught up with its competitors in terms of AF performance. There is a learning curve, however.

In my opinion it is simply the best camera that Nikon has ever made. It has state-of-the-art technology. In addition to offering focus assistance for manual lenses, which the Z9 or Z8 cannot do. All this in a retro body with amazing quality.

Coming from a Nikon D3200 from almost ten years ago, this camera is amazing. It's easy to set up and customize. Sure it's not a Z6ii body, but I love the retro feel, and the feel in the hand. As a weekend amateur this camera is the perfect set up for me. As for this kit, the 40mm f/2 is perfect to get you up and going for everyday shooting. The extra battery works, and the filters have a nice weight and feel. All and all I would buy it again and I am very much looking forward to the fall colors with the Zf.

There are a gazillion reviews of the Nikon Zf. All of these rate the camera very high. I do not disagree but there is one frustrating thing about Nikon Z cameras that is never discussed in these reviews: Nikon Snapbridge is worthless! If you need to transfer photos from a Nikon camera to your phone, forget it. If you thought that you could control your camera remotely using Snapbridge you are dreaming a fantacy. The Snapbridge app will never connect to your phone and if it does the app will stare at you without any way to view photos or remotely control the camera as promised. Otherwise the camera is perfect. I bought the Zf for travel. My d850 is heavy and hard to carry for family travel. The d850 sensor remains my choice for dedicated landscape photography but I think the Zf was a fantastic choice for travel, people, street photography, etc. I am a bit angry that Nikon has not been able or willing to prioritize a working Snapbridge app after all the years of development.

The Nikon ZF is a modern classic. I have been shooting Nikon for years. I was disappointed with my Z6 but did not want to lug around the Z8 or Z9. The upgrade in the ZF is amazing the same EXPEED 7 of the Z8 with the look of a classic camera. I did get the Small Rig add on grip to make holding the camera better but I am happy with everything else about it. The 24 megapixel sensor does the job just fine for me. Easy buy if you are into street photography or just want something light.

Beautiful camera. Good build quality but slightly heavy. Extremely capable, with great AF, low light imaging. This also has a very intuitive manual focus aid which allows focus confirmation (green box) if you use a lens with the metal contacts. This is a great camera and I'm excited to use it.

I have been using the Nikon Zf full frame camera for about a week and I am extremely satisfied with it. It replaces my Nikon 750D. I love the new Z mount, I have used the 40mm f/2 that was part of the kit. It's lightweight compared to my D750 with a Nikon 50mm f1.4 I am also satisfied with the Nikon 17-28 f/2.8 and the Nikon 28-75 f2.8 lenses. It is clean of noise when shooting at higher ISOs. I haven't used it at higher than 6400 yet. I am looking forward to taking some low light photos soon. I have rich colors, sharpness and clarity on my daytime shots. I love the look and feel of the knobs and the ability to change quickly from one ISO or speed without having to go into the menu. I do love all of the features that are in the menu but I have not had time to try them all out yet. All in all I feel this is a great replacement for my Nikon D750. It's lighter in weight, fairly easy to use if you're use to using Nikons. I am impressed with the iso range and the picture quality.

An absolute dream to use. There are so many ways to use this camera to its full potential it's amazing. You can use it full dial manual, or you can use it like a typical Z6/Z7. You can also use it semi manual, semi auto depending on your settings. While not as fast in burst speeds as the Z6II when using the mechanical shutter; boosts that speed using the electronic shutter. The autofocus system far exceeds my Z7 and Z6II cameras. I am completely satisfied with the performance, and accuracy of the camera's autofocusing. The IBIS is another HUGE advantage over my other cameras. Handholding has never been easier. Build quality is phenomenal. It's built like a tank and a little heavier than my Z6, but not in a cumbersome manner. I did however get the Smallrig grip...that is a must. The card slot choices are different than most other mirrorless cameras sans the Z5. It uses SD and micro SD cards instead of CFExpress. That does affect burst length, but using a SDXC UHS II card helps compensate that. My only gripes are the standard grip being insufficient...completely insufficient, hence the Smallrig grip purchase. The grip doubles as an arca-swiss mount so that at least is a bonus. The other gripe I have, and this one is kind of a doozy is the camera does NOT come with a battery charger. It comes with a removable and replaceable battery, but no charger. I does come with a wall plug to USB-C for charging, but that doesn't do me much good in the wilderness or at an event where plugging a camera in to charge it is impossible/impractical. Sure you can use a separate battery pack that is USB-C compatible, but then I have to deal with that dangling from the camera. How this was deemed a "good idea" on a camera that you can replace the battery multiple times throughout the day is beyond bonkers. Why did Nikon (and many other manufacturers for that matter) charge a small fortune for an item, yet leave out an essential component that MAYBE costs them $5 to put in the box???

The Nikon Zf has been a great addition to my bag! It's a retro style body packed with a host of excellent features with a focus system that works! I was waiting for the Z6III when the Zf released and I'm glad I purchased this camera! It feels a lot like my old F3 body. The performance is better than expected and the image quality is fantastic due to the improved auto focus and dynamic range. I don't recommend using heavy or long lenses using the standard grip. It's too small to hold for long periods of time. Your wrist will thank you for not mounting beastly lenses on the Zf body which is mostly metal. I do recommend the SmallGrip adapter which helps a little bit with the ergonomics. I'm hoping someone builds a quality deep grip for those of us with large hands. Native Z and adapted F-mount glass both work beautifully. I have been shooting with AI-S, AF-S and Z glass; all produce excellent results. The black and white mode has to be one of the easist modes to use and pairing it with an old AI-S 50mm f/1.4 lens has allowed me to slow down and capture some really interesting shots. I highly recommend this camera!

There's a definite learning curve for me in operating this camera. But so far I love it. A little heavy but I have a small very light weight lens on it. Quality is intense. I've always been a Nikon girl. Had to have this camera .Intense quality.

Outstanding camera and lens combination. I am a stills photographer. After trying a variety of current camera offerings from several brands, the synthesis of form and function, including its premium build , comprehensive menu system and terrific image quality ,has made this my tool of choice. In addition, the nostalgic representation of the FM 2 film camera, I used and loved in the 80's, makes this Nikon offering, for me, an iconic essential.

This is the camera I've been waiting for since the Zfc came out and decided to wait for a full frame version. Beautifully made camera, well constructed just like my FM2 with modern conveniences and fully articulated screen to hide away when you just want to enjoy the shooting experience. That being said, this is almost a perfect camera except if you shoot with adapted manual focus lenses, which I only primarily do, the focus peaking is not as accurate as I expected to be. The zone of focus is much wider than the actual critical focus zone that has been perfected with Fujifilm cameras in my opinion. If Nikon can fix this with a firmware update, it will definitely be a winner, and may be the last camera I'll buy.

Excellent pictures paired with 50mm 1.8 or 28mm 2.8. A bit low customization but adequate for my use. Very good looks. Heavy which feels good but can be tiring.

Easy Selling and Buying Equipment!!

Great Buying Experience with Adorama. Sold my camera kit and purchsed a Nikon Zf with extras. Easy sell and buy process. Efran in sales rocks. Love my Nikon Zf. It's the perfect Full Frame Travel, Street and Trail camera. Dials rather then menus. Beautiful images. I highly recommend the Adorama experience.
The Nikon Z f FX-format Mirrorless Camera features Nikon’s new EXPEED 7 Processor & Deep Learning technology to capture up to nine subjects with its autofocus system. Its 24.5mp BSI full-frame sensor will ensure the exceptional image quality you’ve come to expect from Nikon — even in low-light situations. The Nikon Z f has tactile dials for all settings, including a dedicated switch to swiftly change from color to monochrome. You can see everything in real time via the 3.2" vari-angle touchscreen with Nikon's Touch Fn. And this camera brings the world's first focus point image stabilization for even clearer images. From street to portrait photography, this camera is a worthy companion for those who appreciate a nostalgic, classic design and cutting-edge image quality.
Like the Z 9 and Z 8, the Z f’s autofocus system recognizes a wide range of common subjects—people, cats, dogs, birds, bicycles, motorbikes, cars, aircraft and trains—and uses Deep Learning technology to provide exactly the right focus and tracking for each.
The Z f automatically locks onto the eyes of people, pets and birds, even when they’re extremely small in the frame. For the first time, the feature is also available for manual focus lenses, automatically magnifying the area around the eyes so you can quickly confirm sharp focus.
Record the moments before you actually press the shutter release button—up to 30 fps—saving shots that would otherwise have been missed.
The Z f’s Deep Learning technology analyzes your shooting situation and automatically adjusts aperture, ISO and shutter speed to match your intentions.
ISO 100-64,000 for stills with low noise across the entire range. ISO 100-51,200 for video.
The lowest of any Z series camera; detect faces and even eyes in extremely dark scenes.
Seeks out mid-tones where noise tends to increase—especially on flat surfaces—for sharp, clear low-light images with rich saturation.
Richer tonal gradation than JPEG with increased luminance at a comparable file size. Great for stills and creating 4K HLG time-lapse videos in-camera.
Slow your shutter speed an amazing 8.0 stops slower than would otherwise be possible without causing image blur.
The Z f applies stabilization to the area around the active focus point, wherever it is in the frame, providing precise correction right where you need it.
With the flick of a switch, express composition, patterns, light and shadows in their purest form. New Flat and Deep Tone Monochrome Picture Controls give you flexible control for video and stills.
Activate Pixel Shift Shooting and create the highest resolution, lowest noise and lowest false color (moiré) still images ever produced in a Nikon camera. (Requires NX Studio to combine a 32-image sequence into one 96MP image.)
Apply Skin Softening, easily adjust the hue and brightness of skin tones, retain maximum detail with a new Rich Tone Portrait color profile and more—all in-camera.
Find exactly the right style and mood for your photos and videos with easy to use presets you can preview in real-time.
Capture ultra-sharp detail from the sensor’s 6K image data for footage that exceeds the resolution of normal 4K UHD.
Add a high-end touch to your videos with smooth slow motion sequences. 4K/60p is available in DX-Crop Mode.
A wide range of options make it easy to render beautiful colors directly from the camera or through grading in post production.
Record continuous clips up to 125 minutes long directly to the memory card, no external capture device required.
Record with a fixed shutter speed. The Z f will make smooth adjustments to ISO and aperture to maintain even brightness in your shot.
Smooth handheld shots and camera movements. For extra stability during walking shots, Electronic VR works in conjunction with the Sensor-Shift VR.
Adjust ISO in fine increments of 1/6 EV for smooth transitions from light to dark areas. Adjust shutter speed to as slow as 1/4 second.
From the tactile knurling of the brass dials to the oh-so satisfying click of the mechanical shutter release button, every element of the Z f is carefully crafted to provide not just a beautiful appearance, but also a precision, tactile shooting experience.
While shooting through the viewfinder, you can simultaneously use the Z f’s touchscreen to move focus points, select a different subject to track, toggle between display modes and more—all without ever taking your eyes off the scene.
