FIRST drone I've ever owned PERFECT
I have never owned a drone before and am not a R/C enthusiast. I've watched YouTube videos and tutorials, collecting as much information as I could before making a decision. Lost of "experts" say that you should buy a cheap drone for practice... then I heard another opinion that these fly so easily that it's actually better to start off with a good one as they are much more precise. Incredible!
I am very pleased with the performance and images. This is my first drone. I was originally going to purchase the Inspire 1 but since the Phantom 3 pro was released I opted for the Phantom since it had similar optics and sensors with a little better flight time on a battery charge. Plus saved $1500.

Processing and analyzing flight data in real time takes serious power. The Main Controller is the control center of your Phantom 3. It collects data from the entire system, including motor speed, GPS location, your command inputs, and data from automatic sensors, and analyzes it all to tell your Phantom 3 exactly how to behave at any given moment.
Keeping your Phantom 3 stable and flying the way you want it to is the Inertial Measurement Unit. Inside is a 6-axis gyroscope and an accelerometer that records and relays even the smallest changes in tilt and movement. It is constantly at work, detecting the slightest changes and compensating for them automatically.
Motor speed is critical to flight, and each motor is managed individually by the Electronic Speed Controllers. ESCs not only relay vital motor speed information to the Main Controller, they also send commands back to the motors based on your input.
