Love these lights. Well balanced lighting. Great buy.

This is a great mobile set up. I use it for food photography, mainly for a book im photographing in the studio, but purchased it and getting used to it, as my next book will be on the road. Easy to maintain wb, quick to set up, and sufficient light for my needs. Doesnt give off to much heat, so doesn’t effect the food

Strong light, but the color changes as the intensity is dimmed. Example: 56k will become 49k as you dim the intensity for daylight. Make sure to color balance the camera when using the light. Using the light for ENG live shots and quick interviews. Also purchased the soft box accessory. Powering the unit via an Anton Bauer adapter plate or d-tap from the camera.

This is a great light. But everytime I buy one...when i get home and open the boxed, I find that I am getting a light that has been returned. Tale tale signs are...the unit is not wrapped in bubble wrap..the filters have scratches on them..AND the powerbricks are not factory wrapped.

The lights are simple, lightweight and bright. They do what they're supposed to do. I shoot artwork professionally and have for many years. I use these with polarizing filters over the lights and a cross-polarized filter on the lens to cancel glare. The fact that LED's aren't hot makes everything so simple. They do the job - great!

I keep adding these 12 x 12 CL-1300B LED Panel Lights to my collection because I keep finding new ways to light the set with them. If Adorama is listening, would love a selection of brackets with variable angles that would allow me to use several together, yet keep them independent to face them in slightly different directions on ONE light stand. I use these for photography stills and have the versatility to do video sequences also. Color/Temp control is extremely valuable and we have started using these for actor head shots with great results. Becuase they have very low electricity demands, we use them on location with an inverter pack and get fantastic amounts of controlled light for the energy consumed. Creative lighting in a space without outlets is a huge advantage (inverter not included with these lights). As my review title says, I'm back for more and as a documentary videographer, I can never have too many lights. I often set them up in an array in order to produce a broad even light source that produces an extraordinary look that just can't be done with anything else. They are constructed well and we have had some bumps, drops and rough handling incidents with no loss in function or performance. I also strongly advise that you get the barn doors as it's better to have them and not need them and don't try to make up for it with gaffer tape... the more control you have, the better! Barn Doors are solid and stiff enough to hold their position at any point and in any direction. In the product photo, the unit is shown vertically mounted, that position causes the power cord to get in the way from time to time, I suggest forward mounting them which frees up the tilt movement much more without interacting with the power cord. Can't beat the price/quality combination with these units and I recommend them without hesitation to pros and hobby image makers.

I bought several of these, and they're noticeably cheaper than anything else out there but work just as well.

Just purchased this light so have limited experience with it so far. The light works as advertised and specs.

It's slightly off color as others have mentioed and the slider for brightness is not great, but it's bright, inexpensive and flexible.

These lights are a good value, and put out plenty of light for video. The temperature control is easy to use, and they fit perfectly on standard stands.

Would have given it 5 stars if the color fidelity was truer. But I like everything else about it and the color can be adjusted with a bit of filtration.

Lights represent an amazing value. Much brighter then other panel lights and significantly cheaper. Updated versions have DMX, but now lack the ability to dim in unison with a simple RJ-45 cable. (Have used several of the previous versions).

unpacked the light 30 min ago- this is just a first impression of the daylight only unit. significant output. have not measured F-stops yet but output is impressive. instructions not so much as they apply to another very different version. have heard that the current version (JAN2016) is more reliable than previous versions. power slider not impressive with limited slide distance and large power jumps from small movements. slides for filters are nice, and included amber filter is useful. power adapter and plugs are all adequate. unit we saw at a trade show this week had a sony NP battery adapter, which we thought was standard. V-mount is standard so am looking into 3rd party adapters. will update review as we have time to test.

These are decent lights with many uses. They are made of plastic, which is the only complaint. They might not hold up well to heavy use. In fact, one of my three units had the power supply fail after one year of use. Of course, it was out of warranty then.

These lights are easy to transport, set up, and work with. It is a great lighting solution for a range of lighting applications and scenarios. In the past I have worked with several "hot lights" direct and diffused. My first impressions of this light is that the build is similar to that of comparable, higher priced lights. The panel is relatively light weight, well made and strong enough for active daily use in the studio or on location! The A/C or battery power options make it portable as well! As with most LED lights, the LEDs and housing remain cool, even after prolonged continuous use. The color temperature dial allows you to blend the color of the light to match the location's ambient color temperature. Even at full power, while the light intensity is bright, the light is "soft" and nicely diffused, keeping on camera talent and crew comfortable. I would estimate that at full power the output of this light is equivalent to a 1200 watt "Hot Light" while drawing 75 Watts of power. The built in Dimmer Slider allows a user to reduce power to 10% (Approximately 120 Watts Equivalent) If you plan on mounting this light on a 13' light stand, I highly recommend that you purchase the optional Remote Dimmer. http://www.adorama.com/fplcl1300dc.html

The Flashpoint bi-color led light is an awesome addition to my studio gear. Awesome is so overused but in this case it is true. While none of these new led panels are inexpensive,if it lasts 1/2 of it's rated lifetime ( 50,000 hours) it will have been a bargain. The price difference between this one and the other brands allowed me to purchase a gorgeous Mathews stand and boom to carry it for the price of the other lamps alone. The only thing that could possibly be criticized is the sliding clip that holds the protective shield and barn doors on seems a bit lightweight. But I can live with that, you'll be torn as to whether to place this rig in your living room or studio , it is that cool.

I have used three of these lights in a studio setting. They were used in five different setups in two- and three-light combinations. They are not too heavy to move around so I was inclined to move them frequently to get the look I wanted as opposed to heavier and more bulky light sources that are less portable. The sliders for power output are excellent and easy to use. The power adapter cord length is long and I did not need to use an extension cord at all. I found nothing lacking in the quality of the construction, the functionality, nor the quality of light. Excellent all around.

The only drawback is that it requires a 1/4 Plus Green gel to color correct it. I cut a sheet and with a little hot glue, attached it in front of the LEDs. The color temperature is then 5600K (was 6300 before). Then, the Amber filter included with it brings it down to 4200K. Brightness was measured (with 1/4 plus green) at 5060 lux @ 1M and 970 lux at 8 feet. The diffuser brought it down to 667 lux. This is around a full stop brighter than other LED lights I examined but costs a lot less! Measurements were made with a Sekonic C-500 color meter. And don't forget to order 1/4 plus green gel.

Light enough to go anywhere.
Enough light to go everywhere.
Dream of the power and precision of tungsten lighting without the heat and maintenance of hot lights? The new Flashpoint CL-1300B LED Panel Light provides 1296 points of soft directed lamination, blending beautifully to create a cool bathe of flattering 5600k daylight or 3200k tungsten warmth. The pristine pure LED glow is pleasant to subjects within close proximity. Subjects are comfortable and ready for action, avoiding irritating breaks for make-up refresh caused by rising studio temperatures. You will never sweat another shoot or struggle with color balance and gels.
The Flashpoint CL-1300B LED Panel Light offers spectacular flexibility in a modular concept. Designed for up to 4 multi-unit array with interlocking ports and series cable. Check out the optional DMX remote control extensions that are integral to the unit's design. You can actually control the intensity and color balance of each panel globally and use the DMX remote symmetrically to all units simultaneously. Now you have a superior setup of linking several units for the ultimate 4x4' light wall or complete master LED studio!
Enjoy the freedom of lighting portability. Industry standard 7.2 volt V-mount batteries stand ready to be added to the back of each panel and energize your shoot wherever you desire. The black ABS shell is tough enough for active field use, but amazingly trim and thin for the location pack. Never travel with fear of a loss for efficient light quality with ultimate flex energy saving from AC/DC and pro DC 7.2V batteries that let you work at will.

One of the brightest advances in technology is the advent of the light-emitting diode (LED), a two-lead semiconductor light source. When an appropriate voltage is applied to the leads, electrons are able to recombine with electron 'holes' within the device, releasing energy in the form of photons. This effect is called electroluminescence, and the color of the light is determined by the specific energy band gap of the semiconductor.
Impressed yet? No?
LEDs are small, durable and need little power, so they are used in LED strobe lights or continuous camera lights without detrimental heat output, and operate at a safe, low voltage, instead of the 250+ volts commonly found in Xenon strobe tube-based lighting. This is especially useful in lighting for videographers, where space is at a premium and bulky voltage-raising circuitry is undesirable.
Each LED gem glows with exceptional brilliance of light and human genius that old Thomas Edison would have surely appreciated.
