Lense is so bad, and out of focus (auto or manual) that it just takes up space in camera case now. Pics cant even be photoshopped.

I tested this lens with my new Sony A6400 camera and so far have been well pleased with the quality of the images. They are clear and show colours in their entirely. It is very easy to use and I will need to get more practice but so far I am more than happy with the results.

With ASP-C sensor technology ever increasing, I decided to purchase this lens to round out my a6700 purchase. This completed my conversion from a full-frame system. Combining the a6700 imaging with current photo editing software applications proves to me that I can get the same print quality as I did with my full-frame system. My only issue, which is minor with this lens is that it is not weather sealed.

I wanted more reach than my kit lense offered. This lense is great! Fantastic quality. It feels very sturdy.

Not sure why I'm getting asked for a review a full decade later & after I just traded it in, but here it is. Decent lens. But it was a pain swapping lenses so much since this is an APS-C lens and starts at the full frame equivalent of 82.5, that is telephot territory. The aperture is small, so it's not great in low light. It's small, light, and has good range. But it's a consumer lens, not a professional one.

ADORAMA is awful and has made so many mistakes with my orders that I'm never using them again.

Got this lens a month ago and I am over the moon with it. For around £200 the pictures are surprisingly sharp and the stabilisation makes the focus very reliable. I pair it with a Sony A6000 and together they are perfect for casual photography.

The lens is a compact lightweight option which i used with the a6600. I used it for street photography and wildlife photography, I got it as it was affordable and wanted to try out the mid telephoto focal lens range, turns out I love it.

Added this telezoom lens last month to the a6640 with kit lens. For indoor sports shooting, the manual zooming needs come getting used to. A bit tight n lagging compared to my old Canon L lens. But for the price it is good enough to get the close up shots of players.

For the price you cannot go wrong. Not the fastest auto focus but good enough.

I bought this as logical lens to go with the 16-50mm EPZ kit lens that came with my Sony A6000. The lens certainly adds a lot of extra reach and creative flexibilty with good optics. It is lightweight and perfect partner to go with the kit lens especially if travelling . The picture quality for the price point is very good in my opinion.

I previously owned this lens but I sold it and replaced with a much longer lens. Whilst the longer lens is a much better lens all round, it was much bigger and heavier to carry around for a walk around lens. This is when I realised the Sony SEL55210 E 55-210mm was a very useful lens and much easier to use as a walk around lens so I decided to replace it with a new one. Is it the best lens around no, however for the value for money, the size and weight of the lens and what you are getting for your money, I would definitely say yes. If you want that extra reach and want to add another lens to your kit lens, you won't go far wrong with this one. I cannot give it 5/5 but 4/5 I would say is an reasonable score.

A really suitable budget long lens for beginners that not only does not break your bank, but offers exceptional quality for its price. If you are someone who just got into photography, pick this lens up as it brings you so much more possibilities in your shots.

SEL55210 is small, lightweight, with wide range of focal length and has an image stabilisation - perfect for full day hiking, biking, walking, when every gram counts. I use it mostly for landscape, but also in other areas of photography, when I need telephoto zoom. Good price is a bonus.

Sony says it's its best selling lens and I believe it, it's easy to use with very good quality no mater its low brightness and low price.

This lens is amazing for the price. It?s portable than most lenses and has zoom all while staying at F4, and the photos still come out incredibly sharp!! The auto-focus is amazing for sports photography and video. I can?t wait to use this lens for so much more!

I bought this shortly after getting my a5100. Using the and the standard kit lens I was able to explore all areas off photography which interested me due to the wide range of focal length I now had access to. Since then I have only purchased prime lenses, but the the focal lengths decided upon where mostly influence by the photography I was enjoying with this lens.

purchased as part of a package on a first time interchangable lens system. Not disappointed as it does exactly what it is meant to do although on reflection I should maybe have spent more time with just the kit lens before narrowing down my actual requirements. But for the price and performance, very good.

To answer the first comment: You say you have the NEX-5 which should have come with the 18-55mm lens correct? If so then you should just go for this lens. 1) It is over $400 cheaper than the 18-200mm zoom lens and zooms further than that one by a bit. 2) Another reason why you should just go for this lens is because if your camera came with the 18-55 zoom lens, then this one, the 55-210mm lens, would basically pick up where the 18-55mm lens left off and go the extra distance you were looking ...

I got the NEX5N last month, and couldn't wait for this 55-210mm lens to come out. I just received it last week! I find to be a great addition to the 18-55mm that comes with the camera. It provides telescoping capability, and works so seamlessly with the camera's shooting and editing functions. The camera recognizes the shutter and aperture ranges for this lens, so functions like manual focus, priority continuous shooting, and panoramic shots still comes out well. Optical quality is what you'd...

For photographers seeking to broaden their creative horizons, the Sony E 55-210mm f/4.5-6.3 OSS Lens, available in a sleek silver/black finish, is a quintessential telephoto lens that promises to deliver high-quality, detailed images across a variety of shooting conditions. Ideal for Sony E-mount APS-C-format cameras, this lens extends your reach with an 82.5-315mm equivalent focal length range, making it a versatile choice for capturing everything from intimate portraits to expansive landscapes and dynamic sports action.
The lens's variable f/4.5-6.3 maximum aperture maintains a compact and lightweight design while still offering excellent performance in diverse lighting scenarios. Its advanced optical construction includes two extra-low dispersion glass elements that significantly reduce chromatic aberrations, ensuring your images are free from color fringing and exhibit true-to-life color fidelity.
In addition to combating chromatic aberrations, the lens incorporates two aspherical elements that address various optical distortions, such as astigmatism and field curvature. This precision design results in consistently sharp and clear images, even at the edges of your frame. The rounded seven-blade diaphragm contributes to the lens's ability to create smooth, pleasing bokeh, adding an artistic touch to your portraits and isolating subjects with grace.
Autofocus performance is both swift and silent, thanks to an internal focus mechanism that maintains the lens's overall length during operation for more stable handling. This feature, combined with an impressive minimum focus distance of just 3.3 feet, allows photographers to get closer to their subjects for detailed macro shots without compromising on speed or accuracy.
The Sony E 55-210mm lens is equipped with Optical SteadyShot image stabilization, which is essential for reducing the effects of camera shake. This technology is particularly beneficial when shooting in low-light conditions or at the telephoto end of the zoom range. For cameras with sensor-shift stabilization, pairing with this lens ensures an even higher level of sharpness and image stability.
Compact, durable, and reliable, the Sony E 55-210mm f/4.5-6.3 OSS Lens is an innovative solution for photographers looking to capture the world with clarity and precision. Whether you're a hobbyist or a professional, this lens is designed to take your photography to new heights, ensuring that every image you capture is a testament to your vision and the lens's exceptional performance.
