Bought this camera for a friend who was a very good film photographer but never bridged to digital. I've set it up with with my old friend Tamron 28-75 and am impressed with the results. I shoot with a 7d at home and a 7d MkII at work and wouldn't mind grabbing another one of these when for when I'm shooting motor sports events.

Bought this camera body to for a DIY IR conversion. Have used it as a backup body and visitors. Works well. Have found the Adorama rating system is very faithful to descriptions following many used purchases.

Not brand new but great as a backup body and conversion to IR project. Have used with a Recent purchased Tamron travel lens with GREAT results. Small and light enough for my petite wife to handle. Is only 15.1MPixel but price was excellent. I find used ratings at Adorama are spot on. Also, for a beginner on a tight budget the price was really right.

I am a medium level photo enthuisast who shoot wildlife (birds, etc), does macro (flowers and insects) as well as a little landscape and portrait photography. I bought this camera as a back up to my Canon EOS 60D (which I love and would highly recommend) and was very very disapointed! Very poor image quality for an 18 MP camera (EOS 60D performs much better with same lenses inlcuding tamron 18-270 mm lens and canon 100 mmm macro lens. Most shots were overexposed (again, canon EOS 60D used in similar shooting conditions performed much better). Slow and sluggish, camera was returned after 2 weeks because it is not worse [$]! Save up your money for a little longer and buy an EOS 60D (or equivalent), it's a much better camera than the T1i which I would not recomend, not even to a beginner who just want s to have fun (this camera is so bad that you'll get frustrated with terrible shots and won't have fun at all!)

The camera is good entry level DLSR or second camera use in special event. The screen is crystal clear, easy to use, and I love it. The video standard is 3 years old, but still very good for my use.

I actually bought this camera to use in astrophotography by attaching it to my telescope. I haven't a night of good "seeing" yet, but all seems to work well and the functions I need for now are there. This is not the best camera for this purpose,but it is more than adequate for now.

I used the camera in auto mode for almost 1 year and I am really impressed with the quality it delivered. I switched to Manual a few months ago and I am still learning. The possibilities this camera offers seems to be endless. This is a superb entry level SLR for the amateur photographer that fits really beautifully a Photography Student. Personally I think Full Frame is the way to go once one masters digital photography, thus the T1i is all you need to either get better pictures or learn how to take superb ones.

I use this camera for everything except movie mode unless I can see the LCD screen easily, which is seldom. I did not buy it as a movie camera; therefore, I conclude that it is all-around first rate.

Great camera for the enthusiast who is almost ready to get serious with photography. You can use full auto functions or venture into the manual modes to try your luck at creativity. Has great HD movie mode and RAW functions for when you get to the next level. Great second step camera after you are done with the point and shoots. I have since sold mine although I didn't want to!! I purchased the 7D because I am starting to get more serious about my photography.

Canon has come through with a really fine camera at a really reasonable price. The results are amazing; it's easy to use; it's relatively light; it's versstile; it's durable. All pro comments; no cons. The newest Rebel has a higher resolution; hence, 4 stars instead of 5. Is this a complaint? Not really.

Great Camera, easy to use on a full automatic scale even for the first time photographer. Only defect so far is the impossibility of using the LCD screen to take pics.

Although a consumer camera, the T1i can take a lot of abuse. Sue & I own 3 of them and put them through everything the elements can throw at us on backpacking and hiking trips. My thinking was that they are cheap enough to replace if I lose one. However, after rain, sand and snow, I have yet to lose and Rebel, even my 3 XTi's. The sensors get spots, but instead of an expensive cleaning, I just clean it off with a click of Photoshops healing brush. Canons digi4 processor is fantastic. I even bought another T1i instead of a T2i or a T3i since I firmly believe that 18mp is too much for that sensor. I get outstanding images up to 800 ISO. Great camera that suits our needs.

With the recent death of my 5D MkII, I needed a digital body that fit in my tight budget. Enter the Canon EOS Rebel T1i. Not expecting the T1i to live up to my late 5D MkII, I shot a few test photos to test out the T1i's features. I immediately fell in love with it! Easy to use, tons of customizeable features, and picture quality that leaves you breathless! What really sold me was the T1i's performance at high ISO settings. Expandable to ISO 12,500, the T1i handles digital noise in a manner that is superior to the 5D MkII. I didn't want to believe it, so I did a side-by-side test of a ISO 12,500 photo taken with the late 5D MkII and the new T1i. Sure enough - the T1i photo was a much more "useable" photo than what the 5D MkII produced. If pro photographers can get past the Rebel branding, they would see that this little camera can certainly hold its own!

I bought this & a 18-270 zoom to take to the Galapagos in January. Terrific one lens combination, although since that time I have found I can get better images with better lenses. After 11 months I have about 3000 clicks on the camera. This camera is very easy to use once you learn the Canon way, and get comfortable with all the bells and whistles. I guess one of the best things I can say about it is that using it is very satisfying and as a result, I have gotten into macro photography, portraits, night photography, and landscapes. There is nothing that you can't do with this puppy and the right lens. These are cheap now, a great value. Spend the money you save (over a 60D, for example) on a really good full frame lens--the camera will then produce stunning photos. I have really no complaints, although I have begun to wonder if maybe some of the features on the 50D (micro-focus adjustment, for example) might be nice to have. When doing night photography, the LCD is so bright that it is distracting (adjustable, though, so this really isn't a complaint). I haven't used the video functions, so can't comment on their usefulness.

I use a 7D and wanted a less expensive introductory DSLR for my wife. Having looked at new T1i/T2i cameras, I settled on an Adorama used T1i to which I added a new Tamron lens. I couldn't be happier with the quality of the product and the used item description accurately described its excellent condition. T1i offers decent resolution, clear, simple controls, some more advanced features for the aspiring creative photographer and seemingly decent battery life. It's also not as large as the 7D so fits her hands much better. It's also much lighter without feeling cheap.

This camera makes me seem like an excellent photographer !! I mostly take sports shots of the kids. Added the 55-200mm lens to my package, which is essential for my purposes. Just added a high speed SD card, and found that this camera flies through rapid repetitive shots. Almost forgot... my only complaint is that you must use the viewfinder instead of the LCD screen in most shooting modes.

Outstanding value. Bought this about a 10 months ago as my first dSLR. I have over 2000 shots on it now, and it has motivated me to take a photography class. I used it in the Galapagos with a superzoom lens and got a lot of photos that I couldn't have with a lesser camera. Pros--The camera has lots of features, is well built, and the more you use it, the better it feels. I shoot frequently at high ISO (800 and higher) and the images are crisp with very little noise. This camera, like all the Rebels, is fairly small, but seems to fit well in my medium sized hand. There is a huge number of lenses available for Canons SLRs, so you can often find a really good lens for reasonable cost. The LCD is large and bright. Cons--the shutter seems a bit noisy and the Live View mode, particularly focusing, is a bit awkward, but I don't use it often (maybe I would if it were more intuitive).

The Canon T1i is a great entry-level DSLR camera with a good a mix of features and delivers quite a bit of bang for the buck. The only really annoying things about the camera is that the viewfinder shows only about 95 percent of the actual image area, making composition a little special and the somewhat cheap, plastic feel of the camera body itself. The camera does have some nice features though, such as the 15.1 megapixel sensor, great lense availability, and variety of accessories and equipment that work well with the camera. This would be a fantastic second camera for the pros and is an excellent DSLR for the casual photographer and enthusiasts.

Bought this body with the 17-55 f2.8. Better combo than the kit lens in my opinion. "The lens makes the picture", so why buy a cheap lens? Go a little cheaper on the body since all you're sacrificing is additional features you probably don't need, not quality, and put the money into a better lens. Just my opinion, be it ever so humble. ;-)

I have had this camera a little over 2 weeks now, it's a great camera, for someone like myself who is serious about photography, but not wanting to spend too much on the bodies, while I invest in glass... this camber gives me the quality and the flexibilty I need.
