This was my first "professional" camera that I upgraded to after my canon rebel t6, I bought used so it could be within my price range and I was happy when it arrived on time. The only problem was when I bought the camera used from Adorama It said it was in good condition, it didn't mention anything about how the rubber plugs that are for the mini HDMI, headphone, microphone ports, etc didn't have them. I am still happy about my purchase I just wish Adorama put in the description that the rubber pieces weren't connected to the camera because now the weather sealing isn't really, well, weather sealing. I had to end up ordering the rubber pieces off of eBay and try and replace them but it involves prying the old ripped-off rubber pieces inside the existing holes that mount the rubber pieces. Overall I do recommend this camera, it runs like a champ. I just wish I was told beforehand there weren't any rubber pieces because I don't trust prying rubber out of a expensive camera.

I recently just purchased this 5dmkIII refurbished online here @ Canon. Within 3 days it was at my door step, I was ecstatic. Unfortunately when I put the battery in and I turned on the camera I noticed the viewfinder was all black. I couldn't see my iso, metering. etc.. It took an image fine though, but I had to manual set the camera without metering or framing through the view finder. I thought that was weird, maybe I'll charge the battery 100% tonight and try in the morning. I tried 2 Canon L series lens and a tokina fisheeye and to no avail the view finder is still all black, not good. After further research there seems to be a issue with the Mirror in the 5d's, but not a whole lot of information out there. Canon is known to replace these for free and I should be sending it in by tomorrow. Will keep everyone posted.

Purchased this as an upgrade from my t4i about a month ago. Let me tell you, the hype on this camera is totally justified. I am also very happy with the condition I received it in. Although it didn’t come in a 5d Mark III box (it has a different cameras info written on it, which alarmed me at first it came in brand new condition. Honestly couldn’t tell you how or if it was ever used. No signs of wear either physical or technical. I highly recommend purchasing refurbished through cannon!

Bought it from B&H at a fair price. There are a lot of great features on this camera, but I can't get the file naming structure to work properly, the file transfer is terrible. it takes way to long to 'wake up' from the rest mode. The battery time is pretty low so why not two versions? One without and one with the extra battery holder built-in like the 1D Mark IV. I would be willing to pay the extra $200 - $300. But overall I love the camera, especially with the new 85mm 1.4 lens.

I purchased the EOS 5D Mark III Body Refurbished in October 2016 for a trip to Africa. It worked fine for the first 6 months. In June 2017, it did not work suddenly. I could not take any pictures. The ICD displayed nothing but pinkish stuff. I had no idea what happened and I sent the camera to the NJ center. The repair it and sent it back to me in 10 days. I still had no idea what was wrong with it. In August 2017, when I was traveling at Zion National park, hiking. Two months after the first repair, the camera stopped working again. It was the SAME ISSUE: pinkish display, could not take any photos. I was furious. I carried this heavy camera all the way to the mountain top and I could not take any pictures! This time, I called the service center and they asked me to send it back to the NJ service center. I tried to ask for an extension for the warranty(because refurbished only comes with 1 year warranty) and the lady asked me to all again once I received a notification from the Canon. She insisted me to talk to a "higher person". I did not have time to call the higher person because I was traveling for work. But I was not very happy with my situation. In October 2017, the mode switch fell apart. I am "glad" it happened right before the expiration date of the 1-year warranty(10/31/2017). But I feel so disappointed with the quality of refurbished and feel super frustrated. Even though it is a refurbished, I still spent a lot on it. Once the warranty is expired, I don't know if I still want to throw money to fix it. I don't recommend it if you want endless phone calls with Canon. I also feel bad for my camera. I need to pack it carefully before sending it back to Canon's service branch. The camera is so fragile and it is not good to sending it back and forth between MI and NJ. I have been a loyal Canon's customer since 2009. I used to trust Canon because the quality of the camera. After I got this 5D mark III, I feel so disappointed.

After 16+ years of shooting Nikon kit I have recently changed to Canon gear. I love this Canon 5D Mark III. Easy to use, great resolution, I think better color renditions than Nikon (especially the reds), and a solid build quality. Before i purchased this Canon 5D Mark III, I did a side by side camera and lens test with this camera with a 24-70mm f/2.8L lens vs. a Nikon D750 with a Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 AFS lens. I took a variety of shots with different settings and shot each one with the same settings on both cameras on a tripod. I asked several folks to pick which shot they liked better in a blind test. Not in all cases, but in an "overwhelming majority" of the shots the Canon ones were the clear winners. Hence, my change to Canon. I just returned from a vacation in San Francisco where I took over 2,500 shots and I am so happy I had my Canon 5D Mark III. I can't say enough good about this camera!!!!!

Excellent equipment, and the bundle was great, I paid the same price that Best buy was selling just the body and got all the extras I wanted such as the battery grip, CF card, screen protector that have become necessary. Everything else was just a bonus. I certainly recommend Adorama for all your photography needs. Thanks again.

I have owned Canon cameras for years; have even tried the Mark IV for three weeks. The Mark III is the best camera ever developed by Canon. The sensor is amazing in low light and it exceeds the Mark IV in dynamic range. My older Mark III is my back up and this one will be my primary camera...The Mark IV is a little sharper, but lacks the depth of tone in the III.

There is 5D Mark 4 and 6D Mark 2, but 5D Mark 3 is the best one. 5D Mark 4 is just minor update from 5Dmk3. 6Dmk2 has many features, but it can't bit 5Dmk3's outcome. I love 5Dmk3 :

I have many canon camera bodies was always missing something. I like the quietness, speed, accuracy of auto adjustment, the multiple AF points, the 2 card system. My interest is not so much in video as in still photography which this camera covers extremely well. I shoot weddings which requires many times no flash but is in low lighting and this camera gives me this. I also have the range necessary to shoot without disturbing the wedding.

I haven't found a DSLR that I like more than this one. So versatile for shooting almost anything. I use this for concerts, weddings, fashion, video, you name it. The only downsides: no pop out viewscreen for us short people that like high shots lol

Only things I would have liked more for this bundle would have been the better quality lens (f 2.8 versus 4.0) at a higher price for the total bundle and a Compact Flash card. Otherwise its a great deal for an iconic Canon rig.

The Canon 5D Mark lll is an out standing camera and I love it! The kit lens is awesome with the IS it makes my pictures look nice and sharp. I love the coverage the lens gives me. It is worth buying this camera and lens kit! It may be expensive but it is worth every penny!

I just recently bought the Canon 5D Mark lll and I love it! What a remarkable camera. I take a lot of wedding pictures and portraits and this camera does an outstanding job. I am very happy with my purchase. The battery grip was out of stock when the camera shipped, but I got it yesterday. That wasn't a problem for me. I love the advantages you have to shoot in low light situations with this camera. I would recommend this camera to anyone looking to upgrade or just wanting a nice camera for everyday use. If your on the fence about the price it has come down a little bit. I know you won't regret it! Just get it!

Most Balanced Canon Full-Frame to Date
By Ezra
This is my review of the Canon 5D Mark III. This camera is one of the most professional, versatile, fast and powerful full frame DSLRs on the market. In this review, my goal is to focus more on how great this camera functions and why it is considered in my opinion the complete package compared to other Canon bodies. BUILD QUALITY When you first pick up a 5D Mark III, you will immediately notice how this camera is built and feels like a tank. This body is made out of a much stronger material ...

CANON EOS 5D MARK III BODY
There is good reason why the Canon EOS 5D Mark III is used by Cinematographers, sports shooters, news photographers, and even wedding and event photographers. The ability to produce cinema-quality video and uncompromising high-resolution still photography is a big draw. So much so that the 5D Mark III’s predecessor, the 5D Mark II, helped many still photographers make the transition into videography. In a world where news and sports photography outlets now demand video as well for rich media web sites, HDSLRs such as the 5D Mark II helped save existing jobs and even create new ones. The 5D Mark III is poised to keep this trend going.
Product Highlights
If you want performance no matter where your next photograph is, this Canon 5D Mark III has it where it counts—which is to say, well, everywhere.
Learn about the CANON EOS 5D MARK III BODY
Versatility. It’s a word that photographers—both amateur and professional—look for in their cameras. But how often have you really sat down to consider what goes into making a camera like the Canon EOS 5d Mark III Body versatile? A versatile camera will be capable of many things, after all, from shooting in dim and natural lighting to handling processing speeds that keep you on the go.
The Canon 5D Mark III is indeed a versatile piece of equipment, but as you’re going to find out, that means more than simply dragging it with you to every event on your calendar. It means procuring a camera capable of astounding still shots as well as crisp HD video. It means an intelligent viewfinder capable of 100% field of view no matter what your favorite shot is—including landscape, live events, and more.
But enough about versatility - what about quality? The Canon 5d Mark III has it in abundance—and it has it where it counts. The 22.3 Megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor, the 14-bit A/D conversion, the wide range ISO setting 100 25600—it all goes into constructing a beautifully-functioning camera capable of delivering crisp and clear shots, frame after frame. But don’t Adorama’s word for it. Check out the specs for yourself:
You can do a lot with the Canon EOS 5d Mark III Body—perhaps more than you’re ready for. But if you’ve been thinking about a leap to a more professional piece of equipment, you would be hard-pressed to do better than the EOS-5d-Mark III. Not only is this camera ready for action, it’s ready to be with you for the long haul.

New sensor, focusing and metering systems
The Canon EOS 5D Mark III is built around a new 22.3 megapixel full-frame, self-cleaning CMOS sensor and promises high performance and claims improved noise reduction at higher ISOs with its DIGIC 5+ sensor and up to 6 frames per second burst rate in RAW and JPEG. Additional technological advancements include an Intelligent Viewfinder, Canon's advanced iFCL metering system, High Dynamic Range (HDR), and Multiple Exposure mode.
A newly-designed 61-Point High-Density Reticular AF system is said to be Canon's most sophisticated AF to date, featuring multi-zone wide-area AF for better tracking. A new dedicated AF menu tab saves users from digging through menu functions. A new Multi-layer iFCL (intelligent Focus Color Luminance) metering system takes color and luminosity surrounding chosen AF points into account, which Canon says will provide new levels of accuracy in fast-changing, tricky light.
Another new feature is High Dynamic Range (HDR); the Canon EOS 5D Mark III can merge 3 images at different exposures to create a final image with a broad range of shadow and highlight detail. In-camera HDR can cover a range up to +/- 3 stops in five different settings. The camera's control layout has been changed, with Canon adding more customizable controls and a new ergonomic design. A new "intelligent viewfinder" includes 100% coverage and a dual-axis electronic level indicator.
Improvements in video capture
The video and cinema industries have been eagerly anticipating the Canon EOS 5D Mark III for improvements over its groundbreaking predecessor. Canon claims the 5D Mark III can capture HD video with a level of sophistication on par with professional movie cameras offering phenomenal performance on a DSLR. It offers both All-I and IPB compression, supports H.264/MPEG-4 AVC High Profile, and automatically splits files greater than 4GB (FAT specifications) for extended recording without interruption.
The Canon 5D Mark III offers the option of timecoding during recording only (Rec Run) or at all times (Free Run), useful for multi-camera shoots. It also features improved sound recording adjustment capabilities, offering 64-step volume control accessible through the Quick Control screen during video shooting, plus a dedicated headphone jack for convenience in shooting. The CMOS sensor's new drive system is said to significantly increase image processor performance, reducing color artifacts and moire (a common problem that occurs in scenes with horizontal lines), and ensures that the EOS 5D Mark III can record at a number of frame rates up to ISO 25600 in H mode.
