I use this product in basically a great room, 10 foot ceilings next to my eat in and kitchen and on one side it opens up to 20 foot ceilings and my upstairs, It's between my main speakers but close to a corner. One subwoofer does a great job of providing movement in my chest at my viewing chair 13 feet away. The walls and windows vibrate. I get a breeze a few seconds after a loud passage starts. The port is pointed at me. I'm using a Dennon 4300 to drive it. It has Audyssey multeq xt32. It's my first subwoofer moving from 15" home builts. I'm about finished tweaking it in, I did several days of playing it a bit loud to break it in, then I ran Audyssey, I'm running the crossover at 80Hz. I did a 'crawl' to figure out which placement to use. The Audyssey setup up has you set the subwoofer volume to match the db needed for a good matching level. The setup got me a volume setting of 3.5 out of 11. Bit of a surprise there. I figured the room would be more challenging than that. My system is 5.1.2 with everything being RP but my home builts which are 15" and have EV T35s for Tweeters and 8 inch EVs as midranges. I've played different types of music and quite a number of 4K movies, the base sounds quite effortless down to infrasonic. ...nice fast transient response. I'm definitely hearing stuff I've never heard before. I couldn't be happier. It even adds quite a bit to just TV showes. The thing is massive even though it's 'only' 14". 14" is a bit of a weird size. I decided that it was as large a box that I could put in the room where I live. It's noticeably smaller and lighter than the 16, Yet it produces frequencies that are just a few Hertz and 1.5 db off the 16. The engineering is definitely simular between the two. I figured I could get another if I felt I needed it. I don't need it. The plate amp barely gets warm playing a pretty bassy movie like Maverick. The sale price was hard to pass up. Off loading my AVR is the right thing to do. I don't feel that there are any serious nulls with my room acoustics. The 5 year amp warranty helped me decide that Klipsch was serious about their new series of subwoofers... they had a rep for amps that die. There are tear down videos that show the unit's insides. As a Electrical Engineer I like that stuff. This looks like a very solid unit, the ebony finish and rounded corners are very nice. The delivery was UPS which was quite fast. Frankly I was worried about if the box would get here okay... there was some box damage but the Klipsch box was enough to protect the speaker. It arrived in good shape. The box is substantial. The speaker is 80 some pounds. Again I couldn't be happier with the speaker. ...and it has plenty of headroom to crank it if I were to decide I need too. ...and Adorama did a great job too. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do.

Arrived in great shape, and excellent performance. I wasn't ready for the adult signature-on-delivery need (needed to work from home the next day when UPS came again), and this big unit was a 2-person job to safely get down into basement rec-room (~84 lbs). It sounds awesome though for movies, and all kinds of music.

Excellent sub! A lot of bass impact, and yet also able to play quieter passages well with speed and articulation. Not listening at super-loud levels, so have not experienced any port noise issues. Came from an NHT 10" powered sub. Only using this one sub in a fairly large room, and feel it is plenty, possibly more than is necessary. Could possibly go with a 12", but suspect this 14" is more "effortless". The 14" seems to be a sweet spot in terms of size and impact vs the 16" and 12". Klipsch has done a great job with this sub line!

I'll keep it objective. I would definitely recommend this sub. It's among the top (most likely the very top) of the list of subs I've gone through (Miller Kreisel, Sunfire, Episode, DIY, and then a whole lot of 'who cares') I would describe it as clean, balanced (pretty flat across it's usable frequency range out of the box for my room), very low, relatively musical, shockingly visceral (as in 'woah. damn. where did that come from') during sudden low notes, and it just feels like it can do all this without straining itself (low distortion?)

Do it. Man this thing puts a smile on my face like nothing else. I upgraded from the 15" monoprice subwoofer rated for 600w or so. That amp blew and it was time for an upgrade. This 14" Klipsch happened to be on sale and it was meant to be. I can only compare it to the monoprice I had... Let me tell you. NIGHT AND DAY in overall performance. Not only the level of volume, pressure, and earth shattering. The tone and deliverance of sophisticated lower frequencies whether big or small is what blows my mind. It is not a one note subwoofer. This is just as good at musical qualities as it is watching movies. Couldn't be more pleased.

Bought the RP-1400 to replace an underpowered "starter sub". Reran audyssey, it set sub to -12db which I bumped up to -6db, gain knob on 6. Wow!.... The intro to bladerunner 2049 shook the house so much I thought the drywall was going to peel off lol! Sofar its great! Maybe ill grab another soon ??

Phenomenal sound! Fills my very large living room full of clean thunderous bass without port chuffing! Excellent low frequencies.

The build looks like quality. The only thing that keeps me from giving 5 stars, is the fact that klipsch cheaper out on the feet. They are molded plastic, and not removable. Worse move ever. My other subs have SVS isolation feet. This is not possible with this sub.

The speakers themselves perform great and if you get them on sale it makes it that much better. Two sides to every coin though. While the speaker performs great, unfortunately with no falt to Adorama, I was only able to keep one of them because the damage that was done to it during shipping. No exaggeration, both speaker boxes looked like they had been rolled down a large hill and in to the back of the UPS truck. By some miracle only one speaker had damage to it with two of the corners smashed in. Returne of the speaker was simple and easy with the exception of repackaging the speaker myself not to mention I had to use almost a whole roll of tape just to hold the box together because of how badly it was ripped and smashed. It's been 8 days and I'm still waiting for my direct replacement. Fingers crossed that it actually shows up soon and it don't look like it stood in the front line of a World War.

This subwoofer is incredible. It is a large presence in your room, but in exchange you get deep bass that moves an incredible amount of air. When really going, you can feel the airflow across the room. It makes my projector screen shimmer. Highly recommended, especially if on discount!

Very heavy duty, awesome speaker! Went from an infinity r12 which I had for over 10 years to the Klipsch rp 1400 and it is an immense upgrade! It has way deeper notes and it really hits hard!

This is an awesome subwoofer, especially when its on sale at Adorama. This sub takes up a bit of real estate, but sometimes there is no way around physics. If you have the room you cant go wrong! Don't be alarmed by the 500 watt amp (1000 watt peek) as it is super efficient and gets loud and is quick to respond. Buy it when its on special and you will not regret it!

Absolutely amazing subwoofer, did not realize what I was missing before getting this. Fills in missing lower ranges and makes the loud speakers come alive. Have an open floor plan with 20 plus foot ceiling and it pressurize the whole space with only one with another on the way.

Purchased when on sale, phenomenal sub-woofer. Even with a 16X12 room with an open wall, still able to pressurize the room. Blends great with the Klipsch the Nines.

Little backstory: I bought 2 of these Klipsch Subwoofers to replace some svs 3000 micros in my home theater. Although those tiny things really did their job well, I ended up moving them into the living room area. My wife always had a hard time using the soundbar system, so i simplified it with some klipsch nines and used the svs micro 3000s there with wireless trwnsmitters. This, of course, left a subwoofer gap in the home theater room, so I bit on these subs after some stellar reviews and measurements. It did take some time to dial in placements as these are much bigger than the sub they replaced. Almost absurdly bigger. But, as they say, there is no replacement for displacement. These things rumble and shake and provide a very immersive experience, really putting you in the movie. I love when movies take you to another time and place and having the full audio immersion helps. For once, I'm completely satisfied with the bass output. I would have liked some app or dsp options. However, for the price I paid, I just can't see anything touching these.

Works as expected, bought two for filling the room. They don't disappoint. Low end isn't a muddy as other subs I've used.

Seriously though, make sure you measure. I had a 12" sub from an earlier model, and this one is more than double the size. It's a monster, but hitting those low frequencies is worth it.

This thing is a beast so make sure the dimensions works for your space. That aside, I'm very happy with the performance so far and it's a vast improvement over my old subs.

Engineered for hyper-efficient, balanced performance, this subwoofer masters the art of delivering maximum low-frequency extension with outstanding output, accuracy, and speed, ensuring an immersive listening experience.
At the heart of the RP-1400SW lies the newly designed spun copper front-firing Cerametallic woofers. These woofers are a marvel of audio engineering, being exceptionally light yet extremely rigid, which translates to a remarkable low-frequency response with minimal cone breakup and distortion. This means you get higher, cleaner output using less amplifier power, which is not only efficient but also produces a purer sound.
The built-in high-efficiency Class D amplifier is another standout feature, boasting an analog preamp design that preserves the original signal path for cleaner, true-to-source reproduction. The amplifier's Class D output stage is the powerhouse behind the subwoofer's maximum efficiency, ensuring that every detail is heard and that the low-frequency power is felt throughout the room.
Klipsch's proprietary internal geometry is showcased in the front-firing slot port with exclusive internal flare technology. This innovative design significantly reduces port noise, allowing for clean, undistorted low frequencies. The front-firing configuration offers flexibility in placement, ensuring that this subwoofer can seamlessly integrate into any room setup.
For those who prefer a wireless setup, the RP-1400SW is compatible with the Klipsch WA-2 Wireless Subwoofer Kit (sold separately), offering high-resolution wireless connectivity. This feature allows for easy subwoofer placement anywhere in your room and optimizes output and low-frequency response. You can even connect up to four WA-2 wireless kits to compatible Klipsch subwoofers for a clutter-free, wireless audio environment.
The RP-1400SW is equipped with flexible controls, including a Low Pass Crossover and Variable Phase control, allowing you to tailor the subwoofer's performance to your specific Klipsch speakers and room acoustics, achieving the perfect level of bass. The Line Level / LFE RCA inputs ensure compatibility with a wide range of home theater receivers.
Energy efficiency is also a key aspect of this subwoofer, with a 1/2-Watt Standby Mode that meets global efficiency standards, reducing energy costs without sacrificing performance.
For those with complex audio setups, the RP-1400SW allows simultaneous use of both RCA and wireless inputs. This means you can effortlessly switch between a wireless home theater setup and a wired 2-channel system without the need to change inputs.
Finally, the ultra-durable ebony finish adds a touch of elegance to this powerhouse of a subwoofer. The scratch-resistant ebony vinyl finish mimics the look of real wood and envelops the entire cabinet. The detailed design, including rounded corners, shock-absorbing rubber feet, steel grille posts, and a woven cloth grille, ensures a premium look and feel that is built to last.
