Flat even light is loved because it can look like a quality of light from a larger and farther source. Even though this thing is large it produces a light that is even bigger due to its design. Very easy to put together. I have used this on lighting for beauty, location portraits, TV stills and much more. This thing rocks. I use it with Profoto and use the flashpoint adapter. I think that adapter is better than the elinchrome/profoto adapter. Great combo.

The Elinchrom 74" Octa is large, costly but well worth the investment because it is so versitle in what you can do with it. The 74" is large enough to use as a high-key background for portrait shots but more importantly, you can use it as a single light source for portraits that provides light with the most beautiful wrap-around on your subject while also being able to throw light onto your background as well. You can also use the 74" Octa mounted on a boom stand above a table (or subject) and pointed downward to provide product lighting or beauty lighting with a tri-reflector.
