Used Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM Autofocus Telephoto Zoom Lens

I've had my 70-200 for several years now. It is not only incredibly sharp, but the way it processes light is just better tha other lenses, even other Canon 2.8 lenses. I shoot a lot of different things and the versatility of the lens has made it my favorite, sen for landscapes...I may only be getting a segment of the landscape but the lens brings you into it. You aren't standing a mile away and taking in the scene, you are there, you are intimate with fine details. It's a great lens for shooting motorcycles on the highway. It's a fantastic lens for wildlife. I can photograph comets and the milky way (okay, maybe not the whole thing, but a very well defined slice of it. Right now I am using the lens to tell a story with model horses and dolls...a rather involved story shot mostly outdoors, using the lens to bring the viewer into certain aspects of each image, alternating between tight shots and landscapes, and always being able to subordinate the foreground and background to the subject. The lens is always on the camera and always with me.

I have been a photographer for over 20 years I believe it's one of the best there is I don't use the image stableizer but don't need it

One review here claims the EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM is at the end of its life and is no longer repaired by Canon CPS. The same review states the point value for CPS is 0. I was just on the CPS website. The lens can still be maintained and repaired by CPS, and it is worth 8 points toward CPS memebership as of 12/3/2019. Caveats: 1. Points and service may depend on the serial number of your lens. This lens model has been around a very long time. 2. The EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM (not the II or III version) is no longer sold new, nor supported for repair, and is 0 points. The II version, no longer sold new, is still supported.

Excellent sports lens for use in low light and high shutter speeds. If you're shooting sports this lens is perfect. No need to purchase the more expensive image stabilized veraion unless youre shooting low shutter speeds.

Best lens I ever owned. Image quality way superior from the Tamron telephoto lens I tried before it. Not so bulky as well and a real boost in telephoto reach. Price was definitely higher than Tamron but quality far superior and more refined. Only drawback is that there is no specific mode with image stabilization which helps with fast moving subjects.

I bought this on 3/22/19 and returned it on 4/2/19. I shoot bird pictures and them in flight and the Lens just did not make the mark for me. Most all my pictures were blurred, very poor quality. I shoot with the 70-300 f4-5.6 IS II USM, the pictures are very sharped. I deleted all the pictures after they were downloaded from the new Lens, sorry I don't have any to share with you.

I absolutely love this lens. So much better than a kit lens for sure. Even though it is refurbished it's perfect it works just like a brand new lens. It will work great for weddings.

This 70-200mm L 2.8 Non IS ii works perfect for video. We don't need the IS since the Sony A7sii already comes with Steady Shot, also since we shoot video, we're always on stabilizers (tripod / monopod). This helps us run and gun without the extra weight and cost of the IS model.

I've had this lens for over 2 years and it's versatile, fast and my go to for both motorsports and outdoor photography. The fast, one handed zoom is smooth, allowing me to capture more action shots!

I debated purchasing the 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II, but could not justify the difference in price. If you are not shooting video, this lens is perfect! Such a creative lens. Second shot a wedding with this for the first time and the perspective was amazing! Love the sharp image quality. Have not uploaded those images to my computer yet or I would post one here!

According to Canon Professional Services. This lens is at the end of it's life and they will not have the parts to fix it. You buy it, you break it, say goodbye to it. Disappointing that they are still selling it. I LOVE this lens. GREAT lens and workhorse for me for many years. Still works flawlessly, I wouldn't buy it now since it's not repairable by Canon. Just thought fellow photographers should now. If you don't care about breakage or have a great insurance policy, go for it. Otherwise save up and move to the 70-200mm 2.8 II. If you are a CPS member this lens now provides 0 points.

I waited a long time to buy the 2.8. I have been using the 4 for a long time, but wanted the narrower depth of field. This model does not have the IS feature, but I will normally use it on a tripod, so I am fine with that. If you are upgrading from the 4.0, be aware that this lens is much bigger and heavier. I "knew" that, but I was still surprised by the difference. I will probably still use the 4.0 for much of my hand held work.

The Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM is some great glass. I use it on my full-frame camera for portraits, with wonderful, tack-sharp results. Definitely a great lens to have in your bag... my only regret is not buying the IS version.

I haven't tried all the accessories that came with the lens yet, but the lens is everything I hoped for. I have been saving for it for a long time and it was worth the wait! So far, I have done mostly video.
