I was more than impressed when i received this camera from Adorama, being a used camera it was in pristine condition with a low shutter count. I bought the Nikon D200 as a backup camera to my D7200, I must say that i was very impressed with the features as well as the price for such a camera, picture quality is very exceptional. I would recommend this camera to anyone looking to enter photography but not wanting to spend a hefty penny on a expensive camera,it has all the bells and whistles that a Pro camera today would. And i highly recommend purchasing from Adorama.

Purchased this D200 in January 2013 as second hand (upgrade to my D60), took thousands of excellent pictures. I love the metal body & rubber seal build, feels like a tank which will work for ever. I take it everywhere; controls are laid out in easy reach on the body not hidden in the menu like other plastic made DSLRs. If you like to shoot in full Manual mode (for full control), A, P modes not AUTO mode then D200 is your camera. From the first time I picked it up I knew this was well built machine.

The Nikon D200 is an older camera but what a workhorse! The size and weight let you know your in the Pro world now. Just near perfect for newspaper assignments. High enough jpeg for quailty but low enough not to take all your memory. This camera is nera bullet proof! Adorama's rating system is the best! I feel I got more than I paid for. That's why I have been an Adorama customes since the Eighties!

The Nikon D200, with a 10 megapixel DX censor, produces excellent images that can easily be enlarged to at least 24" x 36", as was the case with the photo below of four boats moored in the Village of Sant'Elia, Sicily.

I bought my first D200 when it came out and loved it, shot thousands of photos with it form landscape to macro and have gotten some amazing photos. One of my favorites is a 3ft x 7ft pano I have on my wall of a waterfall that is stunning. I ended up selling this camera in the fall of 2011 and just replaced it with another D200 in Dec of 2014. I love this camera, it's dependable and in my opinion the best camera that Nikon has ever put out. Maybe someday I'll upgrade to another one, but not anytime soon.

Lentes AI, E, G, D... Visores bem organizados e de fácil entendimento. A câmera responde rapidamente a qualquer comando.

I have had his camera since March of 2008 and I have found it to be a great investment. I use my camera several times a week and it has never failed me. I mad the progression from a D-100 to the D-200 and I never looked back.

I just acquired this 4 year old Nikon D200 in like new condition with less than 7200 shots. First thing I noticed was the feel. This camera is heavy, rubberized and built like a tank. All the controls are neatly arranged. I find this camera a pleasure to use and do not regret buying. I use the Nikon 28mm~105mm F3.5~4.5 lens for some of the clearest photos I have ever taken. I am like a kid with a new toy. I will enjoy this camera for years to come. NICE WORK NIKON!

Use it since not long and I'm impress of the quality of the product compare to other brands. I was hesitant to choose a D200 as a D700 would be a better product, but I'm not disapointed by the quality of my D200, it will be a excellent backup when I'll get a higher product. Nikon build strong and powerful product!

Super dependable body that has a solid feel (unlike the plastic bodies). I also love the weather seals, as I reside in the Pacific Northwest where it rains...ALOT! I bought this as a step up from the Nikon D70s, and have not been disapointed for one minute. The controls are straight forward, the menu is easy to use, and the duel use buttons make AF/AE locks very easy to access. The image overlay ability is really cool too. My only complaints are the high noise at settings over 400 ISO, and the super quick battery drain. However, a good tripod, fast glass, and a few extra charged batteries on hand fix those issues enough for me. I also found the built in flash just didn't make it, so I added the SB-700. - great choice! I would recommend this body to anyone looking for a great DSLR at a good price - $450.00 to $500.00 on ebay

I bought this camera 2 months ago and it is very very accurate and reliable (used in every condition). The worst thing (acceptable for the age and the sensor type) has a not excellent behavior at High ISO. BEST VALUE FOR MONEY!

I love this camera, my wife allowed me to buy this D200 just before my trip to Romania. The camera exeded all expectations. It took pictures inside Old Orthodox churches,cathedrals,2000 years old ruins along the Black Sea (Histria),Dracula castles, former dictator's palace, etc. The D200 did not let down once. So after buying the camera in Edmonton Canada, the D200 vent to Austria,Romania and Serbia. I will never get rid of this camera, i only wish it was still made in Japan...at least the SB900 is.

I've had this camera since 2007. So 5 years now. Many, many photographs later -- in jungles, sandstorms, torrential rain, snow, and at incredibly high altitudes, it still continues to serve me well. It's been great to own. And I can't say I, even now, feel the need to replace it. (It's one weakness is poor low-light ability, but for a camera shipped in 2005, you can't blame it, or compare it to the newer cameras out there)

I got one of the first D200's in Maine and it has been an excellent "workhorse" for me. Quite replete with features and functions. Excellent image quality. Magnesium body has proven its worth (I have fallen on it several times). Low light level limitations on focus speed and not great at high ISO's.

I have had the D-200 for over 5 yrs. It has work smoothly and flawlessly. The controls are easy to use once you get used to it. It seems to be standard on Nikon D cameras. The full frame picture is the reason I purchased this camera. This is a keeper!.

The camera produces excellent pictures. Noise in dark shadows can be a problem at higher ISO settings. As with film cameras the smaller sensor size can be a bit of an issue with big enlargements. Conservative use of VR and a tripod can minimize this issue. Also the small sensor's 1.5X factor reduces the field, so that one loses the wide angle effect of wide angle lenses. In all other ways, this is a splendid camera.

Rubber parts need to be done away with because heat and sweat cause them to swell and become loose. Replace with molded plastic/acrylic with a grip surface. Camera needs built-in remote shutter capability. Images with DX lenses not as crisp and clear as its Canon counterpart.

Two month after I had bought my D200 the D300 came out. Bad luck I thought... now I am waiting for a successor of the D700 before I upgrade to FX format. I still love working with the D200 in spite of all the advancements and improvements that Nikon made since the D200. The ergonomics of the D200 are perfect for me; plus she takes great photographs and has never let me down. Accidentally, I left her out in the rain one night. She didn't even sneeze the next day and just kept doing her job. The D200 still is a great camera that I will not part with no matter what my next camera will turn out to be.

I have used my D200 for several years now. Will update soon, but will never part with it. I will continue to use my D200 for underwater photography. Love to have a new body for ISO and focusing updates. MegaPix has never been an issue.

Wasn't much of a fan of digital cameras until I started using the D100 and stepped up to the D200-like the way it feels like one of my old film cameras and I have complete creative control-I miss my film cameras but I must say that this camera is great DSLR-I have taken hundreds of great shots with this camera-I would like to graduate to the D300-it out of my price range at the moment. Guess I'll keep on clicking with the D200 for now.

The speed as which you get great quality comes at the price of time. This Camera is a butter knife that cuts like an axe. I will be upgrading to a D4 from this D200 so its worth its money and then some. Its built like a tank. It has over 250,000 pictures on it and still shooting. This thing wont break or skip a beat. It took me about 5 years to fully master this camera in conjunction with Capture NX2. The Capture NX2 is absolutely necessary with this camera or you will not fully unlock its full power. Its so great its been re badged for its 4th time with the new D3000 Nikon's intro line. I would not recommend it for shooting for clients but for the enthusiast that loves photoshop and the look of a pro quality picture with time to spare. Pick it up. You wont be dissapointed

I purchased the D200 when an earlier camera body quit unexpectedly. I'm so glad I bought it! Wonderful build quality, great ergo-metrics, quick shutter response, and built like a tank. This has been my favorite camera since purchase. I like the battery bay on the vertical grip much better than the version on the D300. I just wish Nikon had just updated it with newer electronics and left everything else alone.

I recently retired after 40 years as a professioal photographer and am amazed when I think of the full circle I've completed. Starting my early career with two Nikon cameras, a 35mm Nikkormat, and 35mm F2Photomic both film based. Forty years later, I'm still using a Nikon, the D200 digital and am amazed at it's performance. I spend a good deal of my retirement in the desert, and make hundreds and hundreds of exposures under some demanding lighting/weather situations. I've never had a failure with the D200.

When i can afford it i will moderenize up to a D300 or better. My D200 can do it all, the best metering system in any camera's i have owned. The features of the D200 make easier to take photos that even my old F5 could not. I look forward to a newer model, but it would be hard pressed to out do what i have. What is nice about nikons in general is the interchangability of lenes. Great product. Never had any problems with any nikon products.

I've been using the Nikon D200 for about 2 years now, having gone from a D40, D80, and a refurb D1x. Still using a three-year-old 18-200mmG VR (1st Gen), and a second-hand 28-80 3.5-5.6 ED I picked up about a year ago. The D200 is built like a tank (chair blew over in a stiff wind, and it bounced from 18" off some hard Texas red granite, without a scratch), has the controls I want, and feels like a camera should, Weighs a ton, and I like it like that. Image quality is outstanding. 'nuff said.

My first digital camera was a Nikon D70, which I still have. Wanting to take my photography to an even higher level I purchased the D200. The D200 has truly changed the way I photograph. I shoot a great deal of Lacrosse games and with the flexibility of the features in the D200 I have taken many excellent photos. With the 5fps I have gotten some incredible photos. I have become the photographer for a lacrosse team because of the quality of the shots. It doesnt matter that the camera is several years old, it is the quality of the D200 and its features that makes it a perfect camera to use.

The D200 was my first high quality digital camera, having been a member of the film and silver-based print club for many years. I bought it several years ago and have since graduated to a D700. But, I still shoot that D200. It's especially useful with long lenses since that smaller APS-C sensor increases the effective focal length by a factor of 1.5. This allows me to use a full-frame 400mm and have an effective focal length of 600mm. As I don't own a 600mm telephoto, I'm quite happy to use that old D200 to obtain those really long shots without spending a small fortune on a new lens. Besides, the D200 is still a great camera, even if it's kind of long in the tooth.

This camera makes a great backup camera of the other high-end cameras. However, this is my main camera. Two draw backs: it eats batteries like crazy, so I recommend getting the additional battery pack with the vertical grip, and still have an extra set of batteries. Usually a fully charged set would last through three quarters of a football game. The ISO is poor at 1600, but when I compare the pics to those I shot with 1600 film, the quality is the same. The D300s has replaced this version. But it meets my needs.

Simply, the Best. One of the things many reviews/reviewers overlook is convenience and control layouts. The D200 has it all. Once accustom to the controls this camera is actually easier to use than some consumer models. Don't purchase this camera if you are not willing to take on a bit of a learning curve. but, if you want a rugged well built camera to take your photography to the next level, this is it. This camera will even use older MF Nikkors, and those older Nikkors never looked better. ...
