So far so good. The unit sounds excellent and is simple to become familiar with. This is my first wireless receiver and there was not much of a learning curve to speak of. A+ to Sony for user friendliness. There is nicely detailed instruction video about it’s operation by the product manager himself on YouTube. Sony audio gear has proven reliable to me over the years, and it appear that these will live up to my high expectations. :)

Bought this for my new Sony PXW-Z190 for professional interview scenarios and it has definitely delivered. It is capable of dual audio channels so you can use a handheld wireless microphone with transmitter and a lavalier microphone with bodypack transmitter at the same time to get an extra two channels of audio. You can mix and match different microphones as long as they have UHF wireless transmitters on them: two lavaliers, two handheld microphones, a lavalier and a handheld, a boom mic and a lavalier, etc. In order to interface with a multi-channel camera, you will need Sony's dual channel MI shoe adapter, the Sony SMAD-P3 Multi-Interface Shoe Adapter for UWP-D Series Wireless Receivers, available at Adorama here:https://www.adorama.com/sosmadp3d.html There are two versionf of the MI Shoe Adapter, you will need the dual-channel SMAD-P3D in order to use both audio channels on your camcorder. They also make a single channel version called the SMAD-P3, which will only give you the ability to use one microphone at a time. The unit is built very sturdy, featuring an all metal construction to protect it from the rigorous use of run and gun filming and interviews in harsh conditions. This version is capable of operating on the 470-532Mhz wavelength and offers a myriad of scanning frequencies to ensure interference-free operation. With the camera MI Shoe Adapter, you can choose to run this unit off of your camcorder's battery or you also have the option to use AA alkaline, lithium, or rechargeable NiMH batteries which can be recharged with the unit's bulld in USB adapter (cable not included). Two AA alkaline batteries will give you approximately 5-6 hours of continuous usage. AA lithium batteries have lasted me about 14-16 hours or usage and good quality 2500MaH rechargeable NiMH batteries give me about 6-8 hours of usage per full charge. So far I've had absolutely no issues with this unit and am always able to find a unused, interference free frequency to operate on. Highly recommended!
