Well built
It's very well built and can easily vary the amount of tension. The arca qr plate has an extra safety release so even if clamp loosens your camera won't drop to the ground. It is much bigger than similar models.

A professional ball head built for compatibility with 057 carbon fiber tripods, the Manfrotto 057 is extremely precise, providing extra-smooth movements. Compact, ergonomic, powerful, durable and made of lightweight magnesium, the 057 also has uniquely innovative features like the exclusive 90½-105½ portrait angle selector, designed to give better, easier camera control and framing accuracy.
The 057 is complemented by the new Q6 Top Lock quick release system, developed to offer photographers a fast, easy to use and very secure camera quick release mechanism suitable for heavy pro equipment. The camera plate clicks into the clamp from above, and as soon as it engages, it triggers a safety pin that stops the plate and camera from sliding out accidentally.
Even before the clamp is locked, the camera is securely supported. The clamp has 3 bubble spirit levels (one for each axis of rotation) to facilitate precise framing and help produce straight images in-camera, ensuring the camera's full frame is usable and reducing post-production time. The Q6 system is also compatible with Arca-style quick release plates and heads from other manufacturers.

- Easier to use; failsafe support: Top Lock's clamp element allows the camera to be dropped in from above easier than trying to align and slide it in from the side. It has a safety pin that stops the plate and camera from out of the head, even if the QR lock is inadvertently left open.
