I use this tripod with a Wimberley gimbal mount (version 2) for my 300-800mm Sigma telephoto lens with Nikon D series cameras.  It is superbly solid in its support.  I had bee using another carbon fiber tripod that supports 40 pounds but the difference is incredible.

If you use lenses that are larger than 400 f2.8 you NEED this tripod!

Superb support for 800mm lens

I use this with a Wimberly WH-200 for my Sigma 300-800mm and either a Nikon D3 or D800 and it is a superb support.  It is the sturdiest tripod I have ever used and I highly recommend this tripod.
