Upgrading from a Rebel T100 I found the 90D to be a bit of a learning curve. The camera performance is great on stills and waves but I'm still dialing in for birds in flight, they are not as crisp as I need them to be. The canon 90d has everything I need for night shooting as well unlike the Rebel that wouldn't hook up to a remote. I've had the camera a month and I am pleased so far

Love the 90D! This is my 2nd one - wore out my 1st one chasing overnight meteor showers for over 5 years.

Canon EOS 90D Review - A Perfect Blend of Performance and Versatility! I recently got my hands on the Canon EOS 90D, and it has exceeded all my expectations. This camera truly feels like a powerhouse for both photography and videography, making it an ideal choice for enthusiasts and semi-professionals alike. Key Highlights: 1. Image Quality: The 32.5-megapixel APS-C sensor produces stunningly sharp and vibrant photos. Even in lower light conditions, the 90D captures excellent details with minimal noise, making it perfect for everything from portraits to landscape shots. 2. Speed and Autofocus: With 10 frames per second (fps) continuous shooting, I can capture fast-moving subjects effortlessly. The 45-point all-cross-type autofocus system is incredibly responsive and accurate, ensuring my shots are in focus, even with challenging lighting or action scenes. 3. Video Capabilities: The 4K recording at 30fps is crystal clear, and I love that it doesn't crop the image - a big advantage compared to other models. The camera also supports Full HD at 120fps, ideal for beautiful slow-motion effects. Paired with Canon's renowned Dual Pixel Autofocus, the 90D performs flawlessly during video recording. 4. Design and Handling: The 90D feels robust and comfortable to hold, with intuitive controls and a bright, fully articulating touchscreen. This makes shooting from different angles much easier and adds flexibility to both video and stills. 5. Battery Life: This camera is a real workhorse, with battery life lasting up to 1,300 shots per charge - a huge plus for long photoshoots or outdoor sessions. 6. Connectivity: The Wi-Fi and Bluetooth options make transferring files to my phone or laptop super easy. It's convenient to share my shots quickly or use remote control from my smartphone. Final Thoughts: The Canon EOS 90D is an incredible camera for those wanting a versatile, high-performance DSLR. Whether you're a passionate photographer or videographer, this camera won't disappoint. It's packed with features that make it a joy to use, and it produces stunning results every time. Highly recommend it!

For the same price as just the base you get lots of extra stuff. The strap was the biggest win. The extra battery is on backorder? still? 3 weeks and counting. The software may or may not be useful, once I figure out how to access it.

I bought the 90D body to replace a rebuilt 90D body that required another rebuild. I decided a new one was better than a rebuild. It came with a new rev of software that wasn't available to load on the older body. The website site said I was up-to-date on the old one, so I was surprised at a new rev. I haven't noticed any changes yet. I chose the 90D because I couldn't justify moving to the next level of camera for another $1,000 +. I shoot mostly manual but am ocntinually learning, so I don't my skills ahve exceeded the 90D's abilities yet!

Purchased the 90D when first released, to replace my T7i body. Has been my go to camera for action photography (mostly high speed aviation. Captures great images with rich colors, low noise and fine detail, rivaling cameras costing 2X or 3X as much. This camera has been great, never an issue. Currently using my second 90D (first body has over 400K shutter clicks, but still works fine)...

I have owned this camera for over three years and love it. I have never had any issues with it. I shoot mostly wildlife, and landscape photography. This camera took me a little while to get used to, due to the many features it offers, however this camera can compete with the more expensive ones. I highly recommend it to anyone just starting out, or an advanced photographer.

Totally met my expectations and more. Would highly recommend it. I tried to load a photo above and it would just go to the sell page.

This camera is awesome I have the EOS 80D, But this 90D takes the cake not just because of the 4k. The still images the create are more amazing then ever. I love the flexibility of the 90D.

I use an R7 on a daily basis. I purchased this camera as a backup. I tried using it several days as my primary camera, but soon realized that the advanced features the R7 has over this camera keep me using the 90D strictly as an emergency backup. The image quality control is identical however due to the viewfinder, leveling up this camera is much more difficult and takes far longer. I do flambient photography and shoot brackets of 5 followed by fill flash frames in a manual setting. If I need to delete a bracket, this camera makes me delete each photo one at a time. The overall experience is a slow one and I work at a fast pace, so it his camera is just not a good fit for me.

I was not ready for such a vast improvement over my ancient Canon 60D bodies and SL1. I cannot see any area that has not been improved with the numerous upgrades over the years. I can see there is going to be a steep learning curve to understand and fully appreciate the performance of this new body. What I like most is that Canon kept the basic controls and menu function pretty similar so it is user friendly for someone coming from an older body. I was able to overview the instructions and very quickly start using it.I also greatly appreciate that they continue to use the same lithium-ion battery and charger as my previous cameras. Likewise all my EF and EFS lenses.I did purchase a new Canon EFS 24mm 2.8 STM lens when I bought this body and it is fantastic too. The focus speed and metering are superb compared to my previous cameras going all the way back to an EOS 620 film body.I am one happy camper after this purchase.Thank you Canon for another job well done.I have been a loyal customer since 1978 when I purchased my first 35mm cameras (Canon AT-1 and F1n).

Went from a T7i to the 90D - what a great progression that was. That 90D is still one of my favorite cameras. My only issue was shooting low-light with the camera. The ISO game isn't as good (or I'm not good enough) to come away with banner pictures in that kind of environment. i'd be giving it a 5 but for that.

First camera I've ever owned and I love how easy it is for someone like me to get excellent results. I use it for photo and video and love it. So far I've only used a 50mm EF lens and a 18-55mm EF-S lens and both have served me well. The only real downside is the small screen and the 30 minute video limit, but other than that I have no complaints. Much better than using just my iPhone camera!

Bought this camera in 2020 as an upgrade from EOS 70D. It has done everything I could have ever wanted as an amateur photographer and I love the time lapse feature.

My hubby bought this camera for my birthday back on December of 2020. In May of 2021 it stopped working due to err 70. After two trips to Canon repair service it was repaired for free but I had to pay for two hefty shipping costs. Fast forward to September 4th 2023 and the camera stopped working now due to err 30. According to the internet this is bad news for me as it seems to be an issue with the shutter. I called Canon and was told sorry please send it for repair which would cost mid 300+shipping. I've owned both Canon and Nikon cameras for several years and never had any issues with either so assume this unit was simply defective. I am torn and disappointed. I love the camera and as I seat here typing this review am considering my options send the body to repair or just buy a new one.

Love Canon, this is my second digital camera. My other ones have been film, not ready to go mirrorless. The touchscreen is wonderful, and easy to use, it is great for adjusting your settings went out shooting. I try to use the manual mode as much as possible, unless I'm trying to grab an action shot or a picture of one of my pets. So far I've been shooting raw so I can make any adjustments in post editing. The reason I only gave it four stars instead of five is because I could care less about using the video. I can do that with my iPhone if I want to,but now it's standard with the newer models. My sister-in-law liked one of my photos so much, now she wants me to paint it. I guess it'll be a Christmas present for her and my brother.

I really like this camera but only gave it 4 stars, as I will rarely be using the video feature. That something that you have to pay for now, even if you bought this model to shoot photos. I have been buying Canon cameras since the 80's. I had to buy on line as there are no Canon camera stores near me. I really miss the hands on experience and seeing the camera in person before buying. The features I like are the touch screen and ease of use. Also the higher ISO and interchangeable lens. I was really torn between this model a the lower end full frame camera. My next camera will be a full frame as I really enjoy landscape photography. My sister in law liked one of my photos so much she now wants me to paint it, I guess that will be her Christmas present.

I bought mine on release day. The Bluetooth functionality ads so much to this line. I can bring an iPad with Lightroom and can edit on the Go easily! Crisp be gorgeous pictures too. It's heavy, but that's too be expected from this type. If you don't want to replace your lenses by going mirror less, this is the way to go.

Garbage camera for action photography. I own a whitewater photography company; 22 years shooting, 18 employees. Not uncommon to shoot 15K pictures on a Saturday. Currently using 80D's. I can set resolution to medium and shoot a burst as long as I want. This camera has a real world buffer of about 40 pictures even at small resolution. Garbage, absolute garbage. FYI I am a long term CPS member with many register products, feel free to contact me Canon

I purchased this camera wanting to fix all the flaws the 80D came with. Everything I didn't like about the 80D was fixed on the 90D. Foremost was the clunky feature of transferring pics to my phone. Before it would take me 15 minutes to set up the 80D. Now just a push of some buttons and open the app on the I phone and pics are one the way. So easy even a caveman like me can use it. There are many feautures on the 90D that I need to learn. I hope when I am shooting, I can remember to use them.

A Bigger Step-Up From The 80D Than Expected
By K F.
I have been using an 80D for the past couple of years. I love that camera! Just since February, I've really been putting in time on nature/wildlife photography. I was just about to buy the 7D when I heard the rumors it was going to be discontinued. I then discovered that the new 90D would basically feature the best of the 80D and 7D combined. I honestly didn't expect it to be such a step-up from the 80D, but it really is. The shutter is faster, and to me, there is a real difference in t...

The EOS 90D camera is ideal for those looking to step-up their game or enthusiasts who shoot portrait, wedding, sports, wildlife photography and more. With continuous shooting up to 10 fps, an optical viewfinder to frame and keep up with fast-moving subjects, also including both Face Detection Auto Focus (AF) and Eye Detection AF, and can capture uncropped 4K at up to 30 fps.
The DIGIC 8 Image Processor helps produce high image quality and fast operation, even in in low light. When using high ISO settings, the image processor helps keep results sharp and detailed in virtually any lighting situation. Powerful all around, the DIGIC 8 Image Processor helps ensure your photos and videos look sharp and lifelike with minimal noise or grain.
The EOS 90D camera has a wide-area, 45-point, all cross-type AF system* that helps you get what you want in focus, quickly. This comes in especially handy when trying to photograph fast-moving subjects, like athletes racing at a motocross event, or an athlete scoring a goal. The EOS 90D is compatible with most EF and EF-S lenses that has a maximum aperture of f/8 or higher, and some lenses with extenders attached may operate at a maximum of 27 points.
The EOS 90D camera is equipped with an advanced 220,000-pixel AE sensor and DIGIC 8 image processor, that greatly contribute to the camera's impressive AF performance for both stills and video. The EOS 90D camera also incorporates Canon’s EOS Intelligent Tracking and Recognition system (EOS iTR AF) that detects and tracks your face – even while looking through the optical viewfinder – automatically switching the AF point to optimize face tracking.
The EOS 90D camera lets you shoot with Dual Pixel CMOS AF for fast, accurate autofocus that helps you get the photo you want right as the moment happens. This means fast action can be captured and focus can be maintained with speed, accuracy and ease.
The EOS 90D camera features an expansive focus area of approx. 88% horizontal and 100% vertical when working with select EF and EF-S lenses. With older EF lenses, or with Extender types I and II, the EOS 90D camera focuses approx. 80% horizontally and 80% vertically. This means fast and impressive focusing even if your subject is way off center.
The EOS 90D camera's dedicated Battery Grip BG-E14 holds 2 Battery Packs LP-E6N, while enabling virtually seamless vertical operation and additional functions with all buttons similarly configured in a comfortable and dedicated grip. Designed to maintain an optimal balance between the weight of the camera body and lens, the Battery Grip BG-E14 also adds a flash sync terminal for use in the studio.also has a useful battery charging function
The EOS 90D camera features a powerful electronic shutter system with speeds from 1/16000 second during live view shooting and a mechanical/electronic 1st-curtain shutter with a maximum of 1/8000 second. Not only is this effective at preventing camera shake, but the EOS 90D camera can help capture fast-speed moments such as motocross events, in sharp detail.
Bluetoothpairing helps you connect the camera to compatible smart devices using the free Canon Camera Connect app. To customize the Bluetooth® function, simply click on the network icon located on the LCD screen. In addition, Bluetooth lets you connect to the optional Wireless Remote Control BR-E1 for remote shooting as well as pick up GPS shooting location data from the user’s compatible smartphone while using the GPS receiver GP-E2
The Canon EOS 90D camera features a powerful 32.5 Megapixel CMOS (APS-C) sensor that can capture high-resolution images. Utilizing a sophisticated light-capturing design, it provides high sensitivity for high ISO capture with reduced noise, delivering clear, detailed results even in low light. It also enables fast continuous shooting and fast autofocus for high-speed performance that helps you capture once-in-a-life time moment.
With a new, rugged shutter designed for 200,000 cycles, the EOS 90D camera can shoot up to 10 frames per second during viewfinder shooting, and approx. 11fps during live view shooting to capture all the action.
With super quick AF and exposure systems complementing the shutter's 55m sec shutter release time lag, the EOS 90D camera is tailored to meet and even exceed the speed of the action with no time lag while shooting through the optical viewfinder.
