Too small for a senior to handle well. Viewfinder does not work with prescription glasses

It’s a very good point-and-shoot camera, attractively built and full of nice features. But it’s way over-priced. I bought it because I always wanted a Leica and this little camera was the only Leica I could afford to buy.

A great point and shoot Leica, the last one I had was rather slow but this one the shutter is very quick take multiple pictures in the situation you're in. Compact and great to take on traveling and vacation nothing bulky if you're out and about

I enjoyed several film Leicas during my 50 years of owning many brands of cameras. It broke my heart to see the 35mm and 2 1/4 inch film format drift away like the morning fog. I embraced the digital format from the beginning, upgrading as resolution increased, and am pleased with the 20 megapixel on an SD card in the C-Lux. I like the smallish 4 1/2 inch width of the camera, as it fits in the same small camera bag as my HD video camera. It has good weight, and I use the wrist strap that comes with it. The eye level viewfinder was an absolute must for me, and it's great. The 2 3/4 inch screen turns off when you bring the viewfinder to your eye. Then I like to push it away from my eye which turns on the screen, touch the screen where I want it to focus, bring it back to my eye, and press the shutter button halfway to quickly focus with a chirp. Hold the button until you're ready, and press down the rest of the way. Your image freezes on the viewfinder for a moment. I tend to use Program mode exposure, but there are many manual choices. The huge knurled knob around the lens changes settings. For me, the "Red Dot" matters, and is beautifully displayed on the screen when you turn off the camera!

I´m a photography lover. I live in Buenos Aires Argentina. For work reasons I travel a lot around the world, mainly USA an Europe 3 times a year at least. I´ve had a lot of mirrorless cameras in the past, the last 2 I´ve owned are the Sony RX10 IV and the Sony RX100 V. I just sold both of them and I bought the Leica C-Lux. I think is a good compromise between the long zoom and the portability I need for travel and street photography. I didn´t use it a lot yet. But the test I´ve done sor far shows it as and excelent camera. Very good materials and ergonomics.

Having had the Leica C-Lux a short time I may be somewhat unfair, but I had expected more because of the name. I now believe I could have gotten a camera with the same features and quality for about half the price. I likely paid a lot for a red dot. So far I have not be able to get more than "average" pictures; blame that on the photographer. I keep the camera in the car for quick finds from a small camera. I normally shoot with a Nikon D850 that I do not always have with me. I am still waiting on a case to ship and wish the Leica had a lens cover to protect the blades on the front. The blades sound flimsy when opening and closing.

I really like this camera. It has all of the features I need. Worth the price. What keeps it from five stars is the difficulty I had connecting the camera to Bluetooth and WiFi. The steps you take to do so are confusing and had me going around in a circle. I think now it’s connected to WiFi but Bluetooth escapes me. That being said I would still recommend the camera based on its feel and features that are included in a compact package. As for print quality the few pictures I sent off to be processed came back a little dull and slightly dark. This was kind of alarming but I don’t know at this point if it’s the camera or the processing company.

Memories from near and far
The Leica C-Lux adapts to every situation at the speed of lightning and makes it so easy to take fantastic pictures, however far away the subject may be. Its 15x optical zoom brings your favorite subjects close enough to touch and captures them for eternity.
The Leica DC Vario-Elmar 8.8-132 mm f/3.3-6.4 ASPH. lens of the C-Lux makes no compromises: with focal lengths from 24 to 360 mm (35 mm equivalent), the 15x optical zoom brings you creative opportunities when taking pictures from Montmartre to the Eiffel Tower - and everything in-between.
Top of the class
1-inch image sensor
The 1-inch sensor of the Leica C-Lux delivers outstanding picture quality and makes it the clear winner in its category. Its 20-megapixel resolution delivers brilliant pictures in RAW or JPEG format.
The quality of pictures taken with the C-Lux is therefore just as amazing when you see them in large format prints. With its high resolution and a sensitivity range up to ISO 25600, the top-of-the-class camera is ideally prepared for every imaginable lighting situation.
Always at the right moment
Instantaneously sharp autofocus
Capturing the perfect moment needs a steady hand - and speed. With instantaneously sharp autofocus and face detection, the Leica C-Lux is absolutely ideal for capturing unexpected situations.
Thanks to its fast autofocus with 49 metering points, subjects are focused sharply in an instant and a continuous shooting rate of 10 frames per second ensures that you'll never miss even the most fleeting moment. Intuitively selectable scene modes provides valuable assistance when shooting landscapes, portraits or at night and give you the freedom to concentrate entirely on your subject.
Everything under control
Integrated digital viewfinder
Thanks to the integrated digital viewfinder, you immediately have the part of your subject you want to capture in your sights. Thanks to the viewfinder's high resolution of 2.33 megapixels, the clarity and contrast of the viewing image is outstanding at all times - even in particularly bright ambient light.
As the viewfinder covers 100% of the image field, framing of subjects is extremely precise and you have complete control of composition. The C-Lux naturally also offers a range of diopter compensation settings that allow unhindered use of the viewfinder by spectacle wearers.
Simple. Beautiful. Share.
A tap is all it needs to capture the world in pictures
Thanks to its 3-inch touchscreen display, taking pictures with the Leica C-Lux is as easy as using a smartphone. As all marks are repelled by a special coating, even fingerprints on the display are now a thing of the past.
And, for everyone who loves to spontaneously share their stills and videos in social networks- after selecting the files to be shared on the 1,240 k-dot resolution TFT-LCD screen, they are transferred via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to the free 'Leica C-Lux' app.
Movie magic
In high-resolution 4K format
Wonderful moments can often be relived much better in moving pictures. And that's exactly what the Leica C-Lux is perfectly prepared to do: it captures video in high-resolution 4K format.
Thanks to exceptional resolution - four-times higher than full-HD - and up to 30p & 100 Mbit in MP4 format, the C-Lux delivers all the technical prerequisites for shooting your own, personal short film. What's more, the 4K-photo function enables you to extract and save still pictures directly from video footage at a resolution of up to 8 megapixels.
