The lens was perfect...it is a Canon. But Adorama really shines for their great service. I placed the order over the weekend. Adorama processed the order and shipped the lens on Monday for Tuesday delivery. Great service.

I recently moved up from a 5D Mk 3 with an EF 24-105 L4 lens to an R5 Mk 2 with the RF-24-105 L4. The first thing that I noticed about the lens was all of the plastic in the build of the lens. My old EF 24-105 lens was a very stout lens with a metal body. I dropped the old lens once and Canon repaired the lens and it has served me well for over 12 years. Darn near bulletproof. I don't have the same confidence in a plastic lens. I expected more for the money spent on the lens and camera. Time will tell if this lens can equal its predecessor.

I bought this less than a year ago and loved the weight/size for travel. I switch lenses with my camera and it comes apart at the lens mount when taking it off. I don't think I've ever had an issue with something like this with a Canon L series lens this soon after purchase. I had to have lenses repaired previously, but only if I'd done something stupid.

Shooting distance not focal length controls near far perspective (apparent size of nose vs ears and near/far eyes in oblique poses) with focal length dictating in camera crop. Most faces are flattered most shooting in the 8 - 10 ft range and a 24-105mm allow shooting crops from full-length portrait or small group landscape to tight individual head shots in camera from the same distance with exactly the same facial rendering with a full-frame sensor. A 24-70mm works fine in that regard on an APS-C body but will require moving in closer and distorting perspective to get tight headshot crops in camera. For photojournalism the RF24-105 combined with the RF10-20 f/4 and RF100-500mm f/4.5 - 7.1 is a ideal "holy trinity" combination without a gap in the 71-104 range which is ideal for H&S and tighter photos of people and pets. It's the ideal range is 'walking around' lens, even better if using two R6mkII bodies with a shoulder harness as I do. It is the perfect "Goldilocks" lens: not to short, not to long; just right!

Been using this lens for about 6 months - traded my older EF 24-105 to get the R version. Lighter and throughout the lens.

I've been a Canon customer for over 20 years, from the 40d thru my first mirror-less 6D mark 2. This lens is the best ever! Image sharpness and built-in stablization. My only issue is that the zoom ring is fairly tight compared to all my EF lens. No a big issue though. I'm hoping it gets freer over time.

Great lens, sharp, fast focus. I wasn't expecting much from the bundled flash but it's actually pretty great.

This lens took a little time to get used to for me. I haven't figured out a "magic formula" yet so I continue to adjust shutter and ISO to play with exposures at the fixed f4 aperture. But over time I have dialed it in and RAW files edited in LR and excellent. It does everything from action to portrait to macro and more.

I saw people raving over this lens on YouTube. The fact that it was L glass with an f4 but performed way better than expected. So I took a chance and bought it. No regrets.... It has become my own workhorse. Pretty much made my 50 worthless. I just got back from a 4 week Italy trip. I used it for food, landscape, stars, coastline and sunrise and sunsets. I never once questioned if I needed a better lens. When photographing the ancient ruins in Rome and Pompeii it was perfect. I could pick just the right zoom and depth in the photo. Really don't pass this up for the price.

I've been using this lense for 9 months now. I've used from everyting from astrophtography to sports photography. It is an amazingly fast and sharp lense. It's been in the heavy snow, pouring rain, and subzero temperatures in the Rocky Mountains.

I purchased this lens form B&H Photo about six month ago and it has been the greatest portrait lens that I have ever purchased from Canon. I have tried other lens but there is no comparison to this lens.

This lens is extremely sharp and helps keep the weight down in the camera bag. Obviously, it's a good all-around lens for a variety of situations. However, it is an L lens so that means it's supposed to have dust and moisture protection. My lens was on a camera on a tripod only about a foot and a half above the ground. It tipped into the Merced River and was brought back out as quickly as I could grab a tripod leg. In that time water had already entered the interior. It could not be repaired and because I bought it in 2018, it's Canon CarePAK had expired

With limited use, the lens immediately collected dust under the glass. Would not recommend

I bought the Canon R6 body with this lens in a package deal. I could not be more pleased. The focal range is perfect. The f4.0 is very nice and gives appropriate bokeh if you need it. Canon has just come out with an f2.8 version of this lens, and though I am very tempted, I can see the advantage of the f4.0 in size, weight, and convenience. I have other lenses, but this would be my go-to if I could only take one.

The lens is fine but the barrel is noticeably loose and makes a rattling sound. I did some research and it's a common issue with the lens. Seems like something that Canon should address. It's a super annoying sound.

I purchased the RF24-105mm F4 L IS USM Lense with my R6 Mark II when they first came out. I have taken them to Singapore and Hong Kong and taken many pictures under various conditions and they don't sisappoint in any way. The lense takes sharp clear pictures, it's quiet, accurateand and it's my all around lense. I'm so happy that I bought this combo and I strongly recommend the RF24-105mm F4 L IS USM Lense. It's the best investment you can make. You won't regret it !

This is the best 24-105 lens Canon has made. I use this lens for day to day and travel. The build is stout and easy to use. The optics are very good and the lens focuses quickly. The stabilization works very well. The programable ring is also very handy.

Nice small lightweight L Lens for my Canon R6 MII. So far the photo quality at F4 is great. Some night time shots are great too with some source lighting when not using a tripod. Even better with a tripod

Superb lens and my first RF lens. Excellent all rounder. Beautifully made but perhaps a little more wobble when fully extended than expected for a L lens.

This is my absolute most used lens. The range is incredibly versatile, the optics are great, the AF performance is excellent, and IS is solid. All performance aspects are a huge improvement over the EF version. For most of my work f/4 is great but every once in a while I'd benefit from a stop of more light. I do still have my EF L 24-70 2.8 ii, and even at matching apertures I find this RF lens to resolve better and deliver better colors. If they ever figure out how to make a zoom with this range and a constant f/2.8, I would pay A LOT of money.

I actually have the other Canon 24 - 105 f4 . I am pleased with both. One thing extremely that I like about this image stabilizer is probably stronger.. and you can read the controls through the viewfinder. Far as focus distance.. It's not cheap. But I believe it is built to work to help create images . So far so good.

It's good enough to be used for some client work and gets plenty of general use where we're just learning, playing, walking around with the kids or whatever... Much better then the EF version.

This lens is amazing. It is so nice when I am at events having the focal length range. I used the 24-70 70-200 shooting with two different bodies. Now I use just one and it covers just about everything. It is also wonderful for shooting headshots. I rarely shot below F4 for it and I can quickly shift to full body portraits without having to switch lenses now.

I think we all want a deeply discounted used lens that will be almost as good as a new product. The problem is we turn to large auction websites hoping for that good discount. Well for me the auction sites have failed me way too many times. Example: buy a expensive used lens from ?auction-bay? and lens comes and condition looks good but oh no the lens is decentered and not just slightly. The left side of image is out of focus. So is that the fault of the seller or shipper? Not sure but what I do know is all I?ve been getting are decentered lenses from buying used. So if you want to save a lot of money and don?t mind a decentered lens then go ahead. I want my lenses to be performing as good as the best samples out there! Now for Canon?s refurbished lenses I only have one experience and it?s been wonderful. Lens looks brand new like everyone?s been saying. Only difference is you don?t have the original box, but you don?t need it anyway as the lens I have has no reason to be sold anytime soon. The lens was extremely well packaged for the planned bumps and throw around that are possible on shipping carriers. I?m only guessing lenses get decentered elements after ppl ship them in regular padding and the lens gets shocked too much from packages being tossed around and some elements get out of alignment. So my final verdict. I definitely will buy refurbished lenses again from Canon. I won?t be buying new unless there aren?t any refurbs available.

GREAT to keep the weight down on the DJI Ronin SC!

Good on the EOS R with the DJI Ronin SC. It's just the right weight point not to throw the SC out of balance.

This lens is spectacularly sharp. I've changed lenses 2 to 3 times, and I always end up using this lens. I helps in all situations (iit is definetely an all-around lens. It is not so heavy and most important to me, it fits on my camera bag. I recommend it to anyone whether starting or not its photography skills.
The RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM is a premium walkaround lens from Canon’s new line of RF lenses within their EOS R full-frame mirrorless system. Characterized by its exceptional focal range and fixed maximum aperture of f/4, this highly versatile piece of glass is great for capturing more of a scene at the widest focal length, zooming in on faraway objects from a distance at the longest focal length, and covering a variety of shooting scenarios in between. Its nine rounded aperture blades are also designed to produce pleasing circular and velvety smooth bokeh. Shooting sharper images, even in low-light conditions, is made easier with up to five stops of image stabilization. The new and configurable Control Ring can be used to intuitively adjust different exposure settings, including the aperture, ISO, and exposure compensation. The lens also utilizes a ring-type NANO USM autofocus motor for achieving fast and accurate yet smooth and noiseless focusing in both photo and video modes. The RF 24/105mm f/4L IS USM features the L-series dust, moisture, and weather-resistant lens body, and is specifically designed for use with Canon’s full-frame EOS R mirrorless camera.
With a large 54mm lens mount, large diameter elements to match and placement closer to the image plane, RF lenses provide brilliant image quality edge-to-edge with minimal light fallout, enabling new possibilities for enhanced optics and compact designs. A supercharged 12 pin communication system optimizes data transfer between camera and lens for sharp, stable and responsive performance in a wide variety of applications.Delivering features and performance engineered to astound, RF optics herald a new day in Canon’s legacy of optical brilliance.
All RF lenses incorporate a control ring on the lens barrel that can directly adjust numerous settings including shutter speed, aperture, exposure compensation and more. Located towards the front of the lens and effectively adding a third dial to the EOS R camera’s main dial and quick control dial, the control ring has a tactile, easily distinguished surface and features a clicking mechanism that provides tangible feedback for confident use while looking through the viewfinder
Another helpful feature, the EOS R camera can display lens information right in the viewfinder, making it easy to confirm the lens’s focal length without looking away from the subject at hand.
Select RF lenses feature optical image stabilization technology that’s designed to work in conjunction with the EOS R camera. Both the camera and the lens share data to dramatically reduce camera-shake blur, regardless of the situation and whether shooting video or stills, to deliver impressively clear results.
The RF 24–105mm F4 L IS USM is versatile with its broad zoom range and constant f/4 maximum aperture. It’s the first L series lens to feature Canon’s fast and speedy NANO USM, making it ideal for landscapes, portraits and much more.
