Awesome lens! I use it mostly for astrophotography..and just added the 35 f/1.4 Art. Somehow, Adorama sold me my copy a year ago for 4449??!! Brand new, full warranty! A mistake? Overstock? I have no idea, but I do love deals!!!

I have six Sigma Art lenses, zooms and primes, and this is the one that always surprises me the most. Sure, they are all great, but when first reviewing images from a shoot, sometimes I just have to stop and stare at those from this 28. Foofy reviewers on the Tube might say, "the rendering is surreal." Me? It's just freaking awesome. Always the lens I go to for large groups shots. Everybody is in super sharp focus, and the folks on the end don't look fat. Also great for car shows or anywhere I don't have a lot of room to work. 28 is a nice wide view without making things look cartoonish (I grab the 14-24 Art when I want that look.). The lens is built extremely well with good weather sealing while not being as overweight as other Art lenses tend to be.

My favorite prime focal length for compositional photography, and this Sigma Art 28mm is a delight to use. Recommended.

If you enjoy the 28mm focal length you be hard pressed to find a better lens. Sharp and contrasty right from 1.4 and it only gets better as you stop down. Its a large and relatively heavy lens, however it is very well built and the performance of the lens justifies this as well. The AF was nearly silent and seems pretty accurate on my D780 -- plus it required no AF fine tuning. All in all this lens is a STEAL at Adorama's price of $399.

Fantastic lens at the sales price Adorama had it for. The light capture & detail is superb. Lens is much heavier compared to the Nikon lenses I have been using, but I like the additional weight as it helps steady the camera. The AF motor is very fast compared to Nikon and I love that it is fully functional when paired with my D5500.

One of the sharpest 28mm lens ever available in the market and par with Nikon 28mm f1.4 E and Otus 28mm f1.4. Even corner sharpness is impressive.

I bought this lens because I appreciate the 28mm focal length and enjoy using primes. Sigma has a look to it that I really like, and this lens doesn't disappoint. Using the 28mm on my Sony A7RIV was not as easy as I expected as a casual shooter. This is due to the (somewhat) poor AF and missing lens profile in Capture One Pro. I must spend more time processing the raw images to make them look nice and am seeing many more shots with missed focus than I am used to. This was resolved somewhat by using software with the appropriate lens profile, and once I found an option, I was able to see what this lens is supposed to look like; it really does deserve the Art badge. It's not the sharpest lens in the world, but it produces incredible light-stars at f/5.6 and up, and it does a fantastic job controlling colors, glare, and just presents a very pleasant image. I've had some incredible results using a tripod and spending a minute or two setting up the scene. Open the lens up to f/2+ and you'll have an easier time achieving focus and avoiding haziness. I'm a mid-level hobbyist and I find this lens challenging to use but very gratifying when I get the shot right. This lens does an excellent job creating a well-balanced image that can be easily processed to achieve various looks; all with exceptional detail and quality.

I got it on a great one day sale that was supposed to add additional points (didn't happen) if I ever wanted it, I felt I should. Purchase at the low price. It is an Art lens and very sharp between 24 and 35mm. It is perfect for a landscape or walk around lens on my 5DS r and is comparable with the Sigma dock. In all, I am very pleased.

This lens is amazing. It?s so sharp, I preface taking pictures of people, by telling them ?this may hurt a little?. They don?t understand, but you do. A perfect walk around lens. Landscapes, people, astrophotography.

The lens is a little long and a little heavy but the photos that come from this lens wide ope at 1.4 are phenomenal. So sharp even at distance. Absolutely love this lens.

This is another superb Art lens from Sigma. They are on a roll and deliver wide angle lenses, especially zooms, that are superior to Canon's offerings. Decided to get this fixed focal length because it was on sale at Adorama for a great price. Very sharp, especially for a wide angle lens. Super Sharp across the field at f/2.8, great sharpness at f/1.4 and still quite sharp at f/9, where lots of landscapes need to be to expand the DOF.

The Sigma 28mm 1.4 is an excellent wide angle prime lens. There?s little to no distortion and it?s tack sharp! When shooting at the minimal focal distance, the bokeh is a dream wide open! It?s built like a tank and worthy of purchase. I highly recommend this lens!

Beautiful, buttery lens with a gorgeous falloff in macro. I purchased a set of these lenses for my Fx9s specifically because they're fast, buttery, and work flawlessly with Sony's autofocus.

Great sharpness, fast autofocus, great colors, little aberrations. Well build quality making it a little heavy though. Overall great.
While maintaining the classic 28mm angle of view that was a hallmark of the film camera era, the Sigma 28mm F1.4 DG HSM Art Lens for Nikon F combines the latest lens design and materials to deliver superior performance. This lens, a part of Sigma's esteemed Art line, has been developed with the expertise gained from the production of the Art F1.4 prime lens lineup.
This modern wide-angle lens offers best-in-class performance, incorporating two FLD ("F" Low Dispersion) glass elements and three SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements. These elements, along with the strategic arrangement of three aspherical lenses, including a large-diameter aspherical lens, provide comprehensive correction of magnification chromatic aberration, a common issue in wide-angle lenses. The result is high-resolution imagery across the entire sensor, minimal distortion, and thorough correction of sagittal coma flare.
Whether you're capturing street scenes, landscapes, or night skies, this lens delivers outstanding performance. Its water- and oil-repellent coating on the front lens element, coupled with a dust- and splash-proof structure, ensures reliable performance in challenging shooting conditions. The high-speed autofocus, powered by the HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) with an updated algorithm, ensures you never miss a moment.
With the introduction of the Sigma 28mm F1.4 DG HSM Art Lens for Nikon F, Sigma's industry-leading collection of large-diameter wide-angle prime lenses compatible with 35mm full-frame cameras has expanded. Now offering five lenses ranging from 14mm to 35mm, all with an F1.4 brightness (F1.8 for 14mm), photographers can select the angle of view that best fits their vision, create attractive bokeh effects, and bring their creative ideas to life.
