A Great walk-around long normal prime
I wanted this lens for the speed and I am not disappointed. I have found it very usable at wide open and it gives me a nice separation and bokeh. This is my second Sigma lens and I look forward to their future offerings. I feel it is the perfect size for my Panasonic G9. It is not a macro lens but offers enough magnification for my flower photography.
Even better than expected.
I was looking for a prime lens for use in low light situations, and after some research I settled on this lens. Although it has an unpopular focal length, I find it to be more "natural" and less "distorting" than the typical normal Micro Four Thirds focal length, 25mm. I tested it's light gathering at its widest aperture and, to my surprise, it is even capable of seeing my shadow cast solely by a Half Moon, albeit barely and at ISO 12,800.
