I use this pad to edit photos. Its a great input device with some newer bells and whistles compared to my old Intuos 2.

Great product overall. I use this with Lightroom 2 and CS3 and I have saved tons of time following tutorials from textbooks and videos. Before, if a tutorial would say that it would take an hour and a half or so it would take me that time or longer; now the same tutorial or other compared it takes me about 30 or 45 minutes (depending on the complexity of the job)or way less. I did local adjustments and blemishes correction on a portrait in under three minutes (subject in he's early 40's.) As a result productivity has improved overall. The finish feels really professional, and the working area on the tablet automatically matches the size of your screen. e.g. I work with a 17" laptop so my working area is really friendly on my wrist, since I don't have to reach far to get to where I need to. If you're getting the small tablet I would suggest using a P-touch to label your side buttons, they become easier to use and just get where you need to faster. Price, I believe that it's priced well since as your skills grow you won't need to upgrade that soon and it's built solid and easy to travel with. The pen feels solid with a nice grip and it's sensitivity can be adjusted if you have light or strong hands it can be custumized. e.g. using the pen to burn and dodge can be done very detailed with little effort of zooming in and out and fast at changing your brush sizes as you get more detailed on your work. The experience has been great so far, the driver updates (if any) I've had no trouble at all. When I eject or shutdown it does not slow my system at all or while working. One last thing I just wish there were more thoroughl tutorials on line. I have tried to share my experience as clear as possible I hope this helps if you are considering on getting this product or something similar. Good luck!

I use this pad to edit photos. Its a great input device with some newer bells and whistles compared to my old Intuos 2.
The Wacom Intuos4 Small Tablet is perfect for limited desktop areas or for those who want a highly portable, professional-level tablet that fits comfortably in a laptop bag. To achieve its compact size, the small size has two fewer ExpressKeys than all of the other sizes of Intuos4 pen tablets and no illuminated displays. Instead of the illuminated displays, a default ExpressKey function called "show settings" provides an on-screen image of the ExpressKey configuration.
The Intuos4 is capable of recording 2048 levels of pressure, giving it the ability to recognize extremely subtle pressure for light brush strokes. It features a bank of customizable ExpressKeys and a finger-sensitive Touch Ring for enhanced control. These controls are located on one side of the tablet, in a symmetrical layout. This allows you to rotate the tablet 180°, giving equal functionality to both lefties and righties.
