Sekonic light meter.
Many don't see the need for a light meter, relying on the modern camera meters. The Sekonic 308 has the necessary basic functions, is accurate, and I think a good value. Sometimes I use the meter when I am scouting different settings, including indoors to decide what lenses and or flashes I might want to use. I also think it is useful when using reflectors, diffusers, and flashes outdoors.

This is my first flash meter, it's really easy to use, helps you to set up your lightning to correct exposure in an easy and efficient way. Lightweight and compact.

The Flashmate L-308X-U is not just a light meter; it's a pocket-sized powerhouse that offers exceptional accuracy for metering both ambient and flash lighting. It also caters to video professionals with dedicated Cine and HD Cine modes. The sliding lumisphere allows for the measurement of ambient light as well as reflected light via a lens with a 40-degree reception angle.
With a wide metering range from 0 to 19.9 EV at ISO 100, and flash range from f/1.0 to f/90.9 at ISO 100, the L-308X-U ensures precise readings. It also delivers repeat accuracy, a critical factor in metering.
The Flashmate L-308X-U is a three-in-one device, offering Photo Mode for full exposure control, HD Cine Mode for a compact solution for cinematographers, and Cine Mode for professional digital cinematography. Each mode is designed to provide accurate measurements to within one-tenth of a stop.
The L-308X-U also offers Lux (lx) and foot-candle (fc) readout, enabling quick setup of lighting in a compact, affordable, and user-friendly design. The built-in lumisphere, lens, and optional lumidisc allow for precise measurements of flat subjects or lighting contrast.
The L-308X-U also includes ISO 850, the native ISO of some of today's most popular video cameras, and an automatic backlight LCD for low light conditions. Calibration compensation allows you to adjust the L-308X-U to your film or digital camera's exposure, or match it to other hand-held meters.
With three custom settings, you can select display mode, increment of measurement, and unit of illuminance (lx or fc) to suit your camera and metering requirements.
