Used 7D - in pristine condition, just as the website stated.

My Canon 7D came today. It was exactly as stated on your website. It works perfectly and looks as if it just came out of the box for the first time. I will certainly be purchasing more equipment from you in the near future.

Versatile, reliable, tough as nails

I bought it as a refurb about five years ago, have taken about 25,000 shots with it with no bad shots other than from my own errors. I already had an EOS XT (more than 20,000 shots with no problems and a T2i, with about 5k shots (again, no problems) , but always wanted the "pro" level body that I never could justify in my budget. Then I found the 7D refurb at a very good price, and it became my first-choice body immediately. At present it has performed perfectly in all the nature, landscape, macro, and experimental stuff I do, and I don't expect to have (or want) to replace it anytime soon.

Fast, but sloppy.

This is a nice camera. Granted, it is 2018 and it has terrible low-light performance compared to many SLRs now, so I will review it as if this was recently after purchasing it: This camera is quite quick, and has a good selection of AF points and AF point control. The packed 18MP crop sensor is great for macro photography if getting as close as you want simply isn't an option, and is also great for well-lit wildlife photography. For the price it has a good burst speed rate too. This camera really lacks in low light performance and struggles to focus properly... it tends to back-focus and front-focus as if struggling to really see the main subject. Don't push it passed ISO 1600 or you'll be disappointed most likely. I'd recommend it as a backup, which is what I bought this for, but not as a main unit. This would be a great starter camera for a serious enthusiast, as it is better than the Rebel lineup.

Love this camera

I just recently got this camera and love it, i own the rebel t7i and while it is also a great camera this just takes it over the notch on professional. It was previously owned and the camera is still taking clear crisp photos. While at times it does not focus properly on the subject at hand and i have to readjust a setting or position it still has me in awe with its outcome. I love this camera and hope to use it for many years!

Canon EOS 70D becomes a paperweight

Three years and very limited use of the CanonEOS 70D the motherboard fried. This is a known problem that Canon is aware of but will not fix without the consumer paying for it

It's a great camera!

My dad has his own Eos 7D and I started using sometime this year, my dad and my mom had to go somewhere for a few hours and right before they left I asked "Hey dad could I try out the camera?" He said "yes, what were you going to use it for" and I said to "take pictures and maybe do some video" and I was going to do a little photo shoot, this wasn't paid clearly because I didn't have much experience with the camera at the time. He just told me how to use it and what I could do with and when he left I got so excited. I thought now that I had a camera that I could use maybe this would be the perfect moment to call up my friends and see if they'd want to do the shoot and when they came over it was confusing because I thought I had told'em that I was going to do this and they would be my subjects. One of my friends was a model(Emily) so it was good to have someone with that skill. Then I took pictures of my other friend Zach and when I started doing all this I knew I'd become a photographer because after all I used the camera for such a long period that I knew most of the specs on the camera and I had knowledge. The first camera I used was EOS 7D and for a kid that was just starting off I was really good at it.

Best Camera I ever owned.

I bought this camera about 5 years ago. I used it for sports photography. The life span is 150,000 shutter actuations. I'm proud to say that my old work horse lasted 553,000 plus actuations. Today I retire her. I replaced her with a 7D Mark II. I hope the second generation is as good as the first.

Excellent jump into the world of DSLR

I was blessed enough to purchase my 7D from a profession who had used it for several years and upgraded, giving me this camera, as well as many accessories, for a fraction of retail. I couldn't be happier! I've learned so much in a very short period of time, because I'm constantly using my camera. The picture quality is excellent, and I've only begun. I'm looking forward to many years of shooting with camera.

Solid rig

I have had my 7D for 3 years now and have not had any issues that I have read on the 1-star ratings. I have two EF lenses and one EF-s lense. The 7D works well with them all. I have owned Canon since the 1980's and the 7D matches up with all of them. I normally shoot in Manual and Aperture Priority and constantly get quality images. I make sure that the firmware is up to date ensuring lack of issues. My next unit will be the 6D MkII next year and that is only due to Full Frame sensor availability.

Great 2nd Hand present

This camera was given to me while working in the Philippines. My sister-in-law had just been given a very nice present of a 7D Mark II and decided that I needed an upgrade from my Rebel XTi. I was blown away by the clarity differences between my old to new camera.

Great Camera

Had the EOS 7D for 4 years and loved it. The camera met and exceeded all of my expectations on every level. In studio or in the field this camera hits the mark. I recently went to Washington DC to shoot architecture and fell in love with the camera all over again. Decided to shoot everything in live view and every shot was perfect. Unfortunately, my camera and all of my lenses were recently stolen so I am starting over. My awesome wife got me started again by suprising me with a new EOS 6D. Starting a new chapter now but I will always miss my first Canon. If you are thinking about this camera don't hesitate on the purchase. The pros outweigh the cons 10 fold.

Finally got it and regret buying one.

Worked great for about 3 months, then it started. Soft focus with every lens. Focus jumps around. Gets confused when there are more than one item n the focus point. Battery life is less than other brands. Slows as molasses in January. Truthfully I won't ever buy another canon product.

Good Deal with kit len 28-135

For the past 5 years i had become interested in canon's cameras, I have been a long time user of another popular name brand, But when i saw this camera with the 28-135 kit lens for $$ I jumped on it and have not regreted it. I paired it up with a 35mm f/1.8 IS USM and 85mm f/1.8 Prime Lens and the pictures are fantastic, If this camera is still available get it ASAP, not bad in low light with good glass.

7D what a bargain

A great step up from my Canon T1i. Many more featured and a quality build. The video included with the camera "Introduction to the Canon EOS 7D" by Blue Crane Digital was a great help to master all the cameras functions and improve my skill.

Amazing Camera

My new Canon 70D is amazing! I jumped from the 20D to the 70D and I'm so happy I did. The new camera is so intuitive to use. Very easy to navigate the menu and the dials. Intelligent Scene Auto is spot on. I have had trouble taking photographs inside my home – they would always be yellow or orange. Now they are true to color. The added focal points were a big factor in my decision to upgrade to the 70 D.

Go To Camera

I've been using my 7D for about 1 1/2 years now, and love it. My preferred shooting is fast action sports (i.e. Motocross, Hockey, & portraits. I have 2 cameras but use the 7D pretty much exclusively anymore.. Thanks Canon for giving us a product that finally outworks the price..

A lot of amazing camera

I like to take it every where I go. I shoot wildlife, scenery, landscapes anything and everything. I love taking photos. This camera is somewhat heavier than I am used to but it is a lot more camera than I ever had. A lot more features than I expected and too numerous to list.

Bought this camera in 2011 and it is still going strong in 2015. My 1D mark III is older and still works fine. No need to get caught up with changing out gear every two years unless able to do so.

Work hard and play hard

We have a small family run photography business and we have used canon cameras from the beginning starting out with the 20D then the 30D, 40D, 60D and finally the 7D. (the 20 and 60 are still kicking) We don’t abuse our equipment but we use them a lot. We currently have two 7ds that we use for sports photography and we absolutely love the 7D. Very high quality build and produces very high quality photos. And with the battery pack it just feels right ergonomically. Our favorite lens is the 70-200 2.8 IS L which we have for both 7Ds. We have quite an assortment of other lenses all canon and have been satisfied with them as well as they each serve a purpose. The reason we decided to get a refurbished 7d is that for us it has a proven track record and is very cost effective compared to the alternatives, and you can purchase with confidence knowing that it came from Canon. One of our 7ds has a shutter count of almost 300,000 and the other almost 70,000. Canon states that the shutter is rated for 150,000 cycles and even though we have routine maintenance performed on them I am not saying that you should attempt or expect to achieve 300,000 photos from a single camera. But from the first day I laid my hands on our 7Ds, I haven’t found anything I like more. Maybe someday we’ll move to the 7D mark II, after all Canon states that it will get 2 more fps than out 7Ds, but for now I’m very pleased.

Canon 7D

I shot another brand forever. I was tired of the poor pictures on the sidelines of the high school football games. A Canon seemed to be a favorite of the photographers around me. I read that the 7D was the best choice in the mid price range to accomplish this task. I purchased the 7D. I soon found out that the kit lenses did not work for me on the sidelines. I invested in a faster f2.8 lens. After a year of shooting Friday night football with this new set up, I found that even though I was getting some ok pictures, most of them were very grainy or noisy under the poor lighting conditions at most high schools.. I still did not have the equipment to get quality shots at low light sports action. This prevented me from getting a part time job shooting sports for a website. The 7D is an excellent overall camera, but don't expect to get quality pictures at low light fast action sporting events. I am looking at the newer Canon 7D Mark ll. It just might be what I need to reach my goals.

Excellent Camera

I shoot with a pair of Canon 7D cameras, both of which I purchased as Canon refurbished items. The 7D is an excellent camera. I shoot with 17-55mm f/2.8 IS and 70-200mm f/4L IS lenses. Those two lenses on a pair of 7D cameras are the best combination I have ever used, Would I like the new 7Dii? Sure I would but, I am happy with my present 7D bodies.

Poor Image Quality - Poor Focusing - Soft Focus

I concur with so many others in complete dissatisfaction of the performance of the 7D. I've had Canon products since the 1980's and owning this one is enough to make me switch brands. It is very rare that I get a crisp image with this camera. My best shots are very soft. Editing software helps some but most are even beyond help there. I wish Canon would own up to the problem and put out a fix for it. I have to believe they could offer a firmware fix but they must first accept the problem. I almost bought a 60D when I moved up from my T3i but wasted the extra money on the 7D - what a disappointment. This Missouri Boy says "Show us a fix Canon"

Great first DSLR

I wanted to learn how to use a camera. Not just use auto and click. I've had this fabulous product for more than 2 years. It'll be three by the end of December. This camera has so many different options. The quality of the image (once you know how to actually use the camera) is PERFECT. This camera is NOT for someone who is just planning on using auto, in my opinion no DSLR is. The only downfall for me is it is a crop sensor, so when using my 50mm it is difficult for family photos. But other than that, loving my Canon EOS 7D!!

Excellent jump into the world of DSLR

By CWhitePhotos

I was blessed enough to purchase my 7D from a profession who had used it for several years and upgraded, giving me this camera, as well as many accessories, for a fraction of retail. I couldn't be happier! I've learned so much in a very short period of time, because I'm constantly using my camera. The picture quality is excellent, and I've only begun. I'm looking forward to many years of shooting with camera.
