Used Glow EZ Lock Quick Softbox Speedring Insert 144mm for Profoto

Giving 2 stars only because the quality seems to be about what the Bowen inserts are. However, this does NOT fit the ez glow collapsible beauty dish/soft box. It says it's for the 144mm and the measurements of the actual insert are correct but it is too small for the ring itself. It needs to be around 150mm. The little screw tabs barely cover this insert to screw it on and as soon as you pick it up the insert comes out. Do not attempt to put on your light unit because you'll be replacing your flash tube etc. I will be returning.

I used this to convert a Chimera bank speed ring from Profoto mount to Bowens mount to put it on an Aputure 300d and it works perfect. You just remove 4 of the 8 hex bolts on the Chimera ring to remove the Profoto clamp-style insert and replace it with the Glow EZ Bowens insert and replace the bolts.

The EZ lock Quick Softbox Speedring adapter was very easy to use on my Chimera 2490QR . It was easy to install and helped ease placing/removing softboxes on my Flashpoint XPLOR heads.

I bought a Flashpoint Explor 300 Pro. Included in the sale was a 36" GLOW Parasnap soft box. It came natively with speed ring to fit the smaller Godox mount on the Explor 300 Pro. I anticipated using it on other mounts like Bowens S2 bracket, so I bought the Bowens speed rings as well. Then I spotted this speed ring to use with my Zeus heads made by Paul C Buff (no longer made, a shame). OK. All the speed rings made for the Parasnap (144mm) are high quality. I don't anticipate ever having to replace them, unless they're lost or stolen.

Well if you need a Balcar/Alien Bees speed ring this is it. The Glow system for changing the Speedrings is really fantastic. No tools necessary. Could not be easier.

Very well built. It fit our B2 heads perfectly, a snug fit to install and the clamp tightens the ring securely to the head. The ring is made of aluminum. I had to reduce the size to 140mm, using a curved tooth babbit file and single cut file, to fit my speedring. Use caution using a grinder with the wrong type of wheel, as aluminum can clog the grinding wheel, causing it to be imbalanced,

i gave it 5 stars - because it is exactly what i bought - however; i bought this to fit alien bee's old softboxes and i had to make little cuts to make it fit under the screws... i saw someone else in the comments say it worked for them and i bought it on that whim... so if you want to convert your profoto mount light to work with some old softboxes; just break out the tin-snips and 5 minutes of cutting work and you're in the game.

These are pretty decently made. I actually bought them for hacking purposes -- I have two Larson softboxes that needed converting from an AlienBee speedring mount to a Bowens speedring mount. Let's just say...it wasn't quite a perfect fit. I ended up finding someone local with a metalworking shop to trim down the edges of the ring so it was smaller in diameter by 2mm. Obviously I can't fault the product at all -- because I'm using for an unintended purpose. (Larson is defunct, it was bought out by Sweetlight, who appears to have folded in the Covid-19 pandemic).

I had a FJ Westcott Rapid box duo and hated using the speedlites but loved the soft box so I measured the opening that was there for the speedlites on the box and found that this insert is exactly the same diameter. I unscrewed the existing ring and replaced it with the new ring and saved myself $

If you are using this on a Paul Buff product measure the existing ring carefully, Paul Buff now has at least three different sizes, I believe they range from 135 or 137mm to 144mm. If you don't have a metric measure use a free online inches to mm converter.

Fits very well with the Einstein 640. Now, I can use my Glow Beauty Dish in both my Flashpoint XPLOR 600 PRO and Einstein 640.
