This is a stable strong monopod. A bit heavy. Works well with a movable head.

The larger platform works well for larger DSLRs and video cameras. And the 3 fold down supports in the leg works well.

This monopod is the second Manfrotto monopod I have purchased. This monopod gives me the extra height need to get those high up shots I need to get for nature photography and birds in flight. I di find that the current sliding plate adapter was too ridgid in the tilt category for my work and I did swap in a Manfroto 234 RC head which made this the best moinopod ever!!!!

When my equipment gets too heavy, this works really great!! I use this for the still not for the movie, so I purchased ball head and it's just perfect. The great thing about this is, you can take photos with this and when you wanna take it off, just take if off with the quick release plate and the monopod just keep standing there.

Don't bother with any other monopod for video use. This is the best out there, having used others. Three stable feet for rock solid shots, but of course, a tripod is always best. Only downside is that Manfrotto used a *different* mounting plate and the other plates from my 502 don't fit! Whatever were they thinking? Now I have to change baseplates for changing tripods! That is why I only gave it 4 stars. Manfrotto, fix that issue! But other than that, I always travel with it. Essential item in my kit. I use it with both a Canon XF305 and Canon 7D. Works great with both.
