I was invited to participate in Dell's Seed Unit program, and to give an honest review of the U2723QE UltraSharp 27 4K USB-C Hub Monitor. I received the monitor on March 8th, 2024, and I've been enjoying its use for just over a week now. My initial impressions were very good, as I could easily appreciate the near-exceptional packaging. The outermost (black) carton is a little loose and prone to scuffs, dents, and tears in transit, but the inner packaging is robust. Although the inner packaging bears the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification, I wouldn't say that it's heavily recycled material. My experience has been that cardboard fibers tend to break down after so many recycling cycles, and they can leave the cardboard feeling mushy and weak. This is closer to a chipboard rigidity, and, coupled with cleverly inserted Styrofoam inserts, the overall crush protection is excellent. I had no issues getting the monitor and included accessories out, but I did wonder if anything else was tucked away inside any of the cardboard channels (there wasn't). Inside the package was the monitor, a monitor stand, a monitor stand base, a power cord, a DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable, a USB-A to USB-C cable, and a USB-C to USB-C cable. We've been long-time Users of the Dell UltraSharp line U24 monitors, so setting up this U2723QE was very familiar and easy. The base screws on to the stand, and the stand snaps into the receptacle cut-out on the monitor. I had been using two U2718Q monitors, and I found the screen on the new U2723QE to be the exact same dimensions. I put the U2723QE in the middle and proceeded to set it as my main monitor. I plugged in the power and put the RJ45 ethernet cable straight from the wall into the new monitor, then plugged the USB-C to USB-C cable from port #5 on the U2723QE to the rear Thunderbolt 3 port on my Precision 7540 laptop. That single USB-C cable carried the internet to and the display from my computer, but I did have a notification that I had an under-powered power supply connected. I opted to plug in my external, factory issued 180W laptop power supply, which took care of that problem. Connecting a second monitor was easy enough with the DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable, but I had issues daisy-chaining to the third monitor. Regardless of what combination of DisplayPort In or Out I used, or using an (unsupplied) HDMI cable from port #3 on the U2723QE, I could not get the third monitor to detect. It's possible that it had something to do with graphics capabilities of my laptops' GPU (NVIDIA Quadro T1000 w/4GB GDDR 5) or the resolutions I was trying to push (3840 x 2160, initially), but the only solution I could find was to move the HDMI cable straight from the back of my laptop to the third monitor. I then showed the new U2723QE and one of my old U2718Q's connected to my Intel UHD Graphics 630 driver, and the other U2718Q connected to the NVIDIA Quadro T1000. Although I could step it up to the full 3840 x 2160, I've currently got all three running at 2048 x 1080, 60Hz. Sitting 3' away and staring at three 27" monitors is a bit much to first take in. My main desk space is 71" wide by 38" deep, and the triple-monitor setup dominates the space. Angling the outer monitors a touch means the overall triple-monitor footprint is 70"L x 12"W (19"H in my case, but that's adjustable). I'm excited to download the suggested Dell Display Manager and see how I can best optimize all this screen real estate. Although I'm only 10 days into it, I've so far had no issues with the U2723QE. I noticed there are soundbar mounting points on the U2723QE, and one of the Dell SB521A slim sound bars we have magnetically snapped perfectly into place. I'm sure plugging that soundbar into any of the (4) USB 3.2 ports on the U2723QE would deliver sound, but I'm going to stick with my Onn 32" Bluetooth soundbar. The only minor gripe I could express at the moment is the inconvenience of docking/undocking that my current setup is experiencing. With our "old" Dell WD19DCS docking stations, all I had to do was plug the dual Thunderbolt cable into my laptop, and I had adequate power, internet, and display to both of my U2718Q monitors. Now I've got three cables connected: the USB-C, power supply, and the HDMI to the third monitor. First-world problem for sure, and entirely plausible that it's my own mistake in cabling, but a gripe all the same. I would recommend this product as a viable alternative to those tired of discharging flea power or dealing with other, similar issues on the WD19DCS docks.

The Dell UltraSharp 27" is easy to assemble and it comes with a compliment of cable and adapters to connect to a computer and /or a laptop -HDMI, USB and USB-TYPE C. You can connect two sources at one time. The picture quality is outstanding. The price is higher than the average monitor but I subscribe to the adage "you get what you pay for." I highly recommend the Dell USB-C Hub monitor. FYI: This item is the recommended choice by NYTIMES Wirecutter shopping advisory service.

have "zero" skills in connecting external Monitors to my work (ThinkPad) laptop and prior experiences (old Dell monitor) left me super frustrated and begging from help from my IT dept (lol - what can I say!). This one was easy peasy monitor to hook up and I'm super happy with the quality. I did have to enlarge the font on my Outlook and Google page, but that's it. The only glitch was that my old soundbar that fit my prior 9-yr-old Dell 27" monitor did not snap into place in my new 27" monitor (ie, different alignment), so I chose to just let it sit on my desk beneath the monitor.

It could have been a 5 star but, when I called support for help with the HDMI input not displaying the output of one of my computers, they told me they couldn't help me because my computer was not a Dell product even though I was using the new Dell monitor. This computer worked with three (3) other monitors but, not with the new Dell monitor I had just purchased.

This monitor is crisp and clear and beautifully designed. The fact that I can power my laptop and connect to the display with one cable is great. The stand manages cables nicely and provides a wide range of adjustability. I highly recommend this monitor.

This is my first 4K monitor and I say the clarity of the picture is impressive and quite a step up from old style monitors. The monitor is easy to setup and get working. Enjoyed a 4K movie and was very satisfied with the response rate and quality of the display.

Absolutely beautiful screen. High density pixel count makes for crisp text and stunning images. Came very well calibrated out of the box. 27" and 4k really is a great sweet spot for any setup. Would have liked a higher refresh rate (144 or higher) but this is more for productivity work than gaming anyway.

As is usual with DELL, solid construction, excellent image quality, convenient ergonomics. The ethernet connector is great, I'm using a Mac Book and this gets me higher networking speed than wifi does. I also connect a PC using display port and automatic input switching works great. Compared to the previous generation (don't remember model name, also 27" 4k) it seems to switch faster and is more reliable. Controls have moved to the back, takes a bit of getting used to, after that no issues. I did not have to make any image adjustments - color, brightness, contrast were fine out of the box. Definitely recommend.

This monitor is outstanding in almost every way -- high quality resolution, clarity, response, and overall performance. The one drawback is the design of the stand, which is unalterably wobbly and shaky. This creates a cheap, flimsy feel that is a distraction from an otherwise excellent monitor experience for the money. One other annoyance is that the cordage included is of mismatched lengths -- power 6ft, video 6ft, but upstream usb only 3ft (an inconvenient nuisance!).

I love it. Stunning picture. Makes me want to work in my office. If it does have the blue light filter like it says it does, I can't tell due to the perfection of its color accuracy. (I am a photo and video editor by trade.) Hopefully this will save my eyes!

Crisp, high-resolution, bright clear monitor, with powered USB-C & B ports + HDMI input for flexible connections to modern computers, very flexible but compact desktop mount. Great for office work with high quality photos and for text; easy setup. I've been very happy after several weeks of use.
