Great lens

The lense does the job, using the macro function doesn’t seem to be all it’s cracked up to be, the boke is a little rough at a close focus with all aperture settings. For the price it’s a good entry into full frame lenses, which is how I ended up with it.

Very satisfied with this lens. For its price point you can’t go wrong with it. I have not experienced any issues with sharpness even shooting wide open .

Good multi-task lens for hiking. The macro is welcome addition. It's a little heavy, but not as heavy as the 24-120

The 24-85mm is a versatile first lens for my new D810 body.

I have been wanting a mid-range lense and this one has macro and also shoots normal. It switches back and forth easily and I have loved the results. I enjoy photographing flowers and the photos have been wonderful

I have just began to use this lens and it works great. It is now the lens that is always on my camera, easy to use, sharp. Switching to marco is easy to do. It is a heavy lens, heaviest one I own, due to the great build.

LIGHT WEIGHT EASY TO USE . THE MACRO FEATURE IS GREAT. THE FOCAL LENGHT COVERS ANY NORMAL NEEDS

I love this lens! It's a great all purpose lens. I've used it for everything from outside portraits, event photos, group shots and low light. It's a real bargain!

This lens hasn't come off of my camera since I bought it. For the money, I think it may be the most versatile Nikon lens you can get. The focal range is good for everything from landscapes to portraits and it is reasonably fast (though it is only f2.8 when set to 24mm). The lens is surprisingly sharp. Even the 1:2 Macro mode is useful. I gave it a 4/5 only because I am sure it isn't as good as any of the dedicated lens it replaces. It is very much a "jack of all trades" but it is very good at all it does.

My old workhorse lens was the 28-105, and when that was discontinued, I switched to this one; I'm not disappointed. I used to use it on my D2x, and now it's my primary lens on my D3. I perform a great deal of photo-documentation in my work, and having some basic wide angle capabilities is great, along with the moderate zoom. And while many of my colleagues are busy switching to the 60mm macro lens, I'm already getting the shots! My photos come out pretty crisp and clear. In many low-light situations, though, I opt for a tripod. Over the last five years, I've probably taken tens of thousands of photos with this lens. So far, the maintenance costs have been low. This is a worthwhile lens to have in your collection.

Least liked in my bag but it has its uses. Silly lock which must be unlocked to go to macro mode???? What were they thinking. Good construction but does not focus easy. Will use when necessary but this lens is overpriced

I can leave it on my camera for a complete wedding with the wide range. Was the right combo of wide angle and zoom.

I've used the lens in all sorts of conditions and it has stood up well. My only complaint is that the hood does not fit firmly. I eventually lost mine.
