These might be the best compact folding binoculars for under $300 on the market. I own many pairs of binoculars, and I teach youth in the use of binoculars through scouting; the Nikon 8x25 Trailblazer ATBs are always a top recommendation from me for compact binos. The bright 3.1mm exit pupil and multicoated optics provide clear, easy views. The 8x power also reduces image shake and makes it easier to find and track targets. I do have some questions regarding their long term build quality, and how good the waterproofing actually is, but I've had no problems so far. These aren't going to be a 'do-everything' bino; they're not well suited to low-light conditions or astronomical use, and [despite the listed specs] don't have as wide a field of view as larger aperture binos. They are GREAT compact folding binos though - ideal for backpacking, climbing, or just having handy for everyday use. I think you've got to jump up by several hundred dollars to find a better set of compact 8x25 roof prism folding binos - such as models from Zeiss, Swarovski, or Leica.

Faulty design and worse service. These binoculars are trash. This is the second pair that have gone out alignment under occasional use from our motorhome. Nikon told me to send them in again for repair. Who wants a third pair of the same bad design. You can find online reports of other people having the same problem. Buy any other brand because nikon will not take care of you if you only buy 100$ binoculars. Faulty design.

I bought three of these. Two for gifts and one for me. These are small, well made and sharp.

I bought these for bird photography. I wear a SpiderPro holster with ThinkTank pouches. I can put these binoculars in a pouch rather than using a strap. They are very handy, crisp, and are pretty bright. The view angle isn’t super wide, but that is to be expected. Great value.

Compared it to my cheap Tasco binoculars to see if the quality justifies the price difference. For image quality the difference is very obvious under harsh lighting condition. The Nikon shows clear and crisp image in indirect glare, as opposed to the Tasco. The build quality is also much better. I do like the double hinges which make it more compact than the old Nikon TravelLite (but cheap the Tasco is even more compact). Wish it comes in dark green color like the Olympus (almost bought the Olympus just for the look). But the Nikon is great for the price.

Excellent for the price. Compared to larger pricier options like Zeiss Terra ED 8x42 and 8x25, Vanguard endeavor ED IV 10x42– this has subjectively as clear a field and as little chromatic aberration but is not as bright. The difference is compensated by its tiny pocket size. Build quality is good. Great for serious kid or traveling adult. Seriously, surprisingly good image for an affordable price.

Bought these Nikon binoculars for a trip to Alaska, was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the lenses on such an inexpensive item. I must say it was the size and light that weight made them very easy to use, they were right there on my chest when needed. I'm considering a larger pair for future trips of this kind, as my wife and I love wildlife, viewing and photographing. Our next trip will be joined by my recently acquired D5.

Nikon's 8x25 Trailblazers are excellent compact binoculars. I have owned some of the world's finest binoculars and these roof-prism compacts are very good. When you consider they cost me $75 from Adorama, it's a no brainer. I bought a pair of Olympus 8x25 WP II's first but I did not like the optical performance so I sent them back. These Nikons are better....maybe not as good as the Swarovski versions but they did not cost an "arm and a leg" either. My only complaint is the focus wheel is a bit "mushy" in their feel. Other than that the optics are very sharp and the field of view is excellent. Highly recommended.

The binocular wider view does make a difference and helps in a quicker view of the object. The size and the double hinge for pack ability was a factor in picking the Nikon 8X25 for me. Clear and crisp view. Most of my hunting will be 200 yrds or less. I don't think you can do much better for the price.

I chose these Nicon binoculars to use at the opera and ballet. Wow! I'm able to see the sequins on the dancers' costumes! Who needs expensive orchestra seats?!?!?

I bought these for a trip to Costa Rica. We didn't use them too much in the rain but they didn't fog in the high humidity of the rain forests. The sizing felt just right in terms of being able to focus on things and not get tired. I was wondering if I wanted more light (i.e. 8 x 42) but this was just right. Any heavier and I would have thought twice about bringing them on every outing. The eyepiece does tend to move in/out too much but it's just a minor inconvenience and only noticed it some times.

I got this product because I have vision problems. I did some reseach before I bought it. It works well for me and my purposes. For inexpensive binos I think it's a good deal.
