Great all purpose lens, might not be as sharp as some Nikon lenses, but this lens does it all, and is tough enough. Remembering it is 18-200 VR AF Macro focusing for the right price. I found much better to have the right lens on when a photo opportunity occurs, than forced to switch lenses in a moving vehicle or boat!

Everything arrived with high-quality protective packaging and the lens itself came with a nice bag that I hadn't anticipated. The lens is really exceptional if you are looking for a versatile single lens. I really enjoy ordering from and dealing with Adorama. They are always honest, and customer-focused, which is so rare these days.

I got this to go with my Nikon D7500. It is the lens I use the most during the day. The wide range of focal lengths lets you properly frame a wide variety of subjects. Auto focus and stabilization have been excellent. The image I took here was taken looking straight up about 10 min after I got the lens I wanted to see what it could do and was not disappointed.

They say to put your money into a better lens instead of buying a new camera. This lens is proof of that for me!

This is a great go-to lens. Replaces 2-3 lenses so great for travel. Images are sharp and clean and the range is fantastic.

I purchased this lens after considering a Nikon 18-300 mm f/ 3.5- 5.6, Nikon f/3.5-6.3 and looked at the Sigma and Tamron equivalents 18-200, 18-300, 18-270. I chose this one because of its weight and the aperture range as a all around travel lens on my Nikon D90.

I love this lens for my Nikon d7100. I'm lazy and hate changing lenses. Got my second used one from Adorama - and the last one was better than the first one. (My daughter stole my first lens for her Nikon d5300). Great job Adorama - reasonably priced, and got here fast. Well packed too. 5 stars

Not the first one I've had. The old one was 10 years old and was worn down from thousands of shots. Great overall carry around lens that does most of the work. Don't dismiss the bundle. Some nice stuff in the package, the Pro Optic lens wrap is really nice.

I enjoy taking nature pictures. My old zoom Len did not have a lock on it. This Len has a lock. Walking trails with my camera over my shoulder with this Len attached makes the adventure enjoyable. This Len takes great pictures also.

Love the lense. It replaced two abd now is my main walk around lense. Its not a professional lens but it beats out my older 55-200 at every focal length and extends down to the 18mm that my kit lense provided. Its a solid lense but not too heavy for the body. Feels very balanced with the sb-700 attached. Youll need a flash since the stock flash leaves shadows at the wider zoom levels. Short focusing distance even at 200mm is incredible. Every d3000 or d5000 owner should have this one. Great kit with handy accessories and very powerful software. I love aftershot pro for RAW processing.

I purchased Nikon's super versatile 18 - 200 VRII zoom to check out on a trip to South Florida featuring a football game, and a drive to the Keys. Most important I got the lens in time. Its shortcomings are yet over my head, and in the meantime, I enjoy the absence of anxiety when close shots come up.

To begin with, I have been buying my equipment from Adorama since purchasing a Mamiya C220 twin lens medium format (film) many years ago. They have always been honest and provide great customer service. Recently I purchased a used older model of this lens which is basically the same. It was rated "E-" which is defined by Adorama as moderate wear with maybe dust in the lens. When I received it I was very surprised. It was immaculate. there was neither a mark on the barrel nor a speck of dust in the lens. Once attached to my D7000 I tested the focusing. No problem. The images were very good. I shoot RAW in order to post process. If you are not shooting as a pixel peeper this type of wide lens is great. Not changing lenes keeps the sensor dust free (or almost). This new lens has an updraded VR.

I purchased this lens for an international trip. I was able to avoid lens changes as it was easy to get both close and distant objects in an instant.

Lens is great. Description says "with 72mm wide UV" filter but picture shows 3 filters. I thought I would be getting 3 filters but only received 1. Don't assume from picture

I found this lens to be excellent when paired with the Nikon D7100. It is a fine all around lens. However, after 2 years, and not heavy use, the auto focus no longer works. Initial research indicates an expensive repair.

I believe the 18-200 is the best all around "normal" lens that Nikon has ever made. I own two of them

Though you might need a flash at 3.5 often I find this lens per forms beautifully at parties, concerts and other low light events.

My new Lens
By D"bee
About 6 months ago I purchased my first Nikon D-60 kit which came with two lenses. After using it for a while I realized what a nuisance it was to keep changing lenses. So I purchased the New Nion 18-200mm DX VR II. Was glad to see it on the market as it has a lock to prevent lens creep. I love my new lens. It is so much better than having to change lenses. It takes great pictures and is easy to use. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

I purchased the 18-200 lens to go with my new D90. I'm not a pro, so I don't want to carry a lot of gear and mess around with having the right lens with me. The build quality of this lens is top notch and photo quality has been excellent.
New ultra-high ratio zoom lens AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR II for use expressly with Nikon DX-format digital-SLR cameras.
A number of unique Nikon technologies have been developed for, and applied to, including a high zoom magnification of 11.1x, a Vibration Reductiaon (VR II) image stabilization system that provides camera shake compensation equivalent to increases in shutter speed by four stops, and a Silent Wave Motor (SWM), as well as a zoom lock switch. Designed expressly for use with Nikon digital-SLR cameras, exceptional image performance is assured.
As the compact AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR II covers an extremely wide range of focal lengths (18-200mm, equivalent to 27-300mm in 35mm format; a zoom magnification of 11.1x), it offers excellent versatility for various scenes that include portraits and landscapes. The addition of a zoom lock switch allows photographers to secure the lens barrel at its minimum length, eliminating the natural gravitational effect that can draw the barrel downward during transport.
This lens offers superior optical performance in a compact size of just 77 x 96.5 mm, despite a high zoom magnification of 11.1x. Nikon's Silent Wave Motor (SWM) assures fast and quiet autofocusing.
The Vibration Reduction system (VR II) provides camera shake compensation equivalent to increases in shutter speed by four steps. Two Vibration Reduction modes are available.
NORMAL VR mode: Reduces ordinary camera shake. Panning is also supported.
ACTIVE VR mode: Reduces extreme camera shake, such as that which occurs when shooting from a moving vehicle.
Optics, optimized for use with digital-SLR cameras, utilize two ED glass elements and three aspherical lenses for optimum balance of chromatic aberration, astigmatism and distortion compensation, allowing for capture of images exhibiting extraordinary fidelity, with vivid color, high resolution and crisp contrast.
Note:
Although DX NIKKOR lenses can be attached to 35mm-format and IX 240-format film cameras, the smaller image circle they project on the film plane prohibits compatibility with these cameras. When this (or any DX NIKKOR) lens is mounted on a Nikon FX-format digital SLR, with the Image Area option set to Auto DX crop (default), the camera recognizes that a DX NIKKOR lens is in use and the DX crop mode is activated automatically.
