Great Lens!

Bought this lens for the upcoming lunar eclipse and have fallen in love with the results from the super-telephoto focal length. Been pairing with the Canon 6d and it works like a charm. Would highly recommend; I can't wait to use it some more!

The name fits the item

I have been using this product for over two years and it has worked well for me. I have taking great shots of wild life and landscaping with this lens. It also takes great portraits as well.

Just OK

I did not want to pay the high cost of a Nikkor lens, so I thought I'd give this a try when it was on a good sale. It is a very nice-looking lens that seems sturdy. Perhaps even better looking than the Nikkor, short of the bragging rights. Although, it is what goes through the inside of this lens that matters most, and I would not say the focus seems as well suited to a Nikon camera. I got a Sigma 2.0 teleconverter to take better pics of the moon, but I was unable to get my D850 to focus at all. Even in manual focus, those shots all came out blurry. I do not find that I have a single image from this lens that I was really happy with, so I don't find myself using it very often.

Heavy to hand hold

Very happy with the wide range and variety of things the 150-600mm lens lets you do, landscape, wildlife, sports. I've been very happy with everything other than the weight. Very hard to hand hold for a long shoot.

I'm hooked!

Being just a hobbyist without any training or much knowledge, I wanted to add a Telephoto to my 70D arsenal but not break the bank. I bought this Sigma lens used (E) and it is like new. Except it's missing the tripod collar (waiting to hear back on that). I'm so impressed with what I've captured so far. It's definitely heavy but I'm building muscle?not a bad thing at my age. Bought a Waka sling/strap so it can rest at my thigh if I'm walking or hiking. Definitely helps.

Good Value

Heavy as expected, not as heavy as the pro version. Not as sharp as the pro version. Definitely keep the zoom lock in place if you don't want the telescoping end to drop. Came well packaged and love the carrying case that comes with it. Used for wildlife and landscapes

Focuses beautifully and quickly

Very happy with this Sigma zoom. It focuses beautifully and quickly and images are crisp and clear with my Nikon mirrorless body.

Sigma Contemporary

I take wildlife photos and use this combination of 150-600 mm with the 1.4 TC. I have been very satisfied with the quality of the shots taken of birds, landscapes, etc. I typically shoot wildlife from a tripod with this combination on my D850 using a remote release.

More ?bang for the buck? than I could?ve hoped for.

Received the Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary lens in a timely manner. Have been using it now for a couple of weeks. Had reservations that it would be able to produce the images I was looking for?such as smooth backgrounds and sharp detail on bird images. I am more than satisfied with how it has produced. For the price point, I feel this lens gives way more ?bang for the buck? than I could?ve hoped for. Thank you Adorama & Sigma.

Good but not great...yet

I have gotten to use this lens with my Canon 7D Mark ii to photograph elk, eagles and waterfowl. I have made some micro adjustments in camera to get sharper focus; I will also be purchasing the Sigma dock to make further adjustments. My overall opinion of this lens is it is a good lens but not a great lens...yet. High hopes.

Excellent lens

Incredible lens for the price. Excellent sharpness at all focal lengths and aperture settings. At 4 plus pounds, it can take some getting used to for handheld shooting, and no weather sealing needs to be taken into account. Best super telephoto in that range for limited budgets.

Wildlife redefined

As a long time Sigma lens shooter, I have never been disappointed by any sigma glass I have ever used. I still shoot with the Sigma 400mm f-mount manual lens, but when I know I?m going to be shooting moving subjects, this lens is my go to. I love the image quality I get out of this lens. I sometimes use this with my older dslr cameras and it performs flawlessly, but I mostly adapt it to my Z bodies and it feels native in responsiveness. The only thing I?m not a fan of is the occasional hunting the lens will do if I leave it on full focus range while shooting objects in the distance. The image stabilization is nice at times but it can get very annoying if you forget to turn it off when it?s on a tripod. Overall it?s my favorite wildlife lens nowadays.

Great lens for the cost only!

Returned this lens due to the quickness and responsiveness in comparison to Canon lens (Canon EF 100-400mm with 1.5 extender). I gave it a couple test projects and wasn't completely satisfied... no shade just my experiences. If your budget allows for this to be apart of you gear, I would recommend and learn to get the most of it. In my earlier days of photojournalism, I purchased my gear based on cost. However, this is no longer the conditions and I look to purchase gear that meat my skill level.

Love the Lens

Love the lens and it work great which was the main thing I wanted, however the picture showed a Slik tripod as part of the package, but I didn't get that tripod, not really a big deal as the lens was my main thing. The tripod I did get was in my opinion a little flimsy for that lens.

Nice lens!

So far really enjoying the added reach of this lens. My prior telephoto was a Canon 100-400 push-pull. I really hated the push-pull and had to pay too much to get the lock ring replaced after 7 or 8 years of use. I like the Sigma's lock button a lot more. I have noticed, however, that the AF button gets jostled going in and out of my bag, which is annoying. Gives me a second's pause when AF isn't working because my subject isn't in the range of that setting. I'm still getting used to the lens (it's long and a little heavy), but so far really like the image results. My only other concern is the waterproofing. So far I've only let it get a little wet (Contemporary makes no promises of water resistance), but at half the cost of the Sport version, if anything happens I guess the Contemporary isn't quite the same financial setback. So far very pleased and would definitely recommend!

Fantastic Lens

This is a fantastic lens if you don't have the megabucks to buy a name brand 400mm f2.8 lens. As long as there is enough light the photos come out tack sharp. It focuses quickly. It's not too heavy. I'm really pleased with this lens, more so than I thought I would be. For the money, this lens simply can't be beat.

My

By Michael E.

My main use for this lens is for nature subjects with my focus on birds. This lens delivers way beyond my initial hopes. It is sharp at every focal length and even with a 1.4TC. Since I started using this lens I leave my "L" lenses home. This lens is solidly built has very fast accurate auto focus that keeps up with the 10 frames per second that my 7D2 delivers.I highly recommend this lens to any nature photographer.
