Outstanding sharpness and color rendition at all apertures on my D800e!! Would definitely recommend this lens to any Nikon owner seeking an outstanding 35mm f1.8 lens. I had the f1.4 version of this last year and find the 35 f1.8 to be much superior.

I'm so happy with my lens. This is the first time using Adorama and it was easy to navigate. My package arrived in the time frame I was expecting. Packages brand new and I love my lens. I needed a 35 for smaller spaces and larger groups it's been doing me great.

Since I switched to photographing weddings with prime lenses, I needed a good 35mm. Even though this is JUST a 1.8, it still creates beautiful imagery and you can't go wrong. Highly recommend!

Light, compact, perfect walk around lens. I also own the Nikon Z 35mm, and while love that lens, you will get by just fine with this one. Remember that sharpness is not everything, especially if you do things like portraiture.

I love this lens as a "standard" as it's sharpness and IQ are on par with the 50mms, but it has a little more field of view. This 35mm outperforms my older 35mm f/2D by a little bit and the build quality seems to be a step up. The AFS might be a touch slower than the old D lens, but the ability to manually adjust focus at any time is a bonus. (The 35mm f/2D is no slouch though, and some prefer its very compact size and light weight. I sold mine when I got the newer f/1.8G) I have the 24mm f/1.8G, this 35mm f/1.8G and the 50mm f/1.8G and find them each to be very impressive lenses.

This is a fabulous lens! Incredible sharpness all the way into the corners. Compact, light weight, fast aperture, and a versatile angle of view. At f/5.6 you can't beat the sharpness of this lens. Also great color and contrast. All of this goodness at a modest price. I use it as often as possible on my D850.

Adorama promptly completed my order and sent a conformation with shipping information. Delivery was on time, packaging was great, and the lens arrived in excellent condition. 35 mm is my field-of-view choice for landscapes. The FOV is wide enough to reveal how I see what I want to capture yet narrow enough that the image tells the story. Because the lens is compact and light weight it is comfortable to take anywhere. This AF-S Nikkor 35mm f1.8G lens is versatile, fast to focus, and I look forward to using it for Milky Way, star trails and other night photography.

Amazing quality for the lens as it is. Looks like cheap but the quality of the build is on spot. The lens creates beautiful bokeh and for the price its a hood competition for other high ends if you dont mind the difference in between 1.4 and 1.8 unless you have a great eye. The gifts are ok most likely will only use one or two of them.

Same price as lens only so a good deal. It shows a Tiffen filter, mine came with a Pro Optic uv instead. I would have preferred a Tiffen (USA) filter.

I actually had problems with this lens, maybe that was a bad luck. I shot with Nikon D 800. I made several attempts of street photography session with this lens. Almost half of them were not sharp. Then I used this lens with Nikon D7000, but the result was the same. I had to return the lens, which I am very sorry about.

Pretty much as expected based on reviews. Construction feels a little 'plasticy' but results are sharp and colors are good. Wide open the bokeh can be pretty "nervous" with high contrast backlighting. But for 1/3 the price of the 1.4 and the weight benefit, it's a solid choice.

I considered getting the Sigma Art version however I have focus issues with my 50mm Sigma Art and heard about the issues with the 35mm. This lens does the job and for a good price!

It is good in low light and has an awesome shallow DOF, both of which are lacking in the lens kit lenses. It's great for photographing everything from landscapes to people. It's a prime lens, so no zoom--which makes it a great way to learn more about composing the shot in camera, and using your feet to move closer to or farther from the subject. It is also a good transition lens for those who shoot with a Nikon crop sensor camera, but plan on upgrading to FX in the future. Lastly, kudos to Adorama! They were the only reputable company that had this lens in stock.

I forgot how much I like slightly wide, fast lenses for all around shooting. I traveled with this and an 85 f1.8, great combo for most everything. Bought the 1.8 as I din't want the extra bulk, nor expense, of the 1.4. Glad I made that decision....more available money to travel with. Quick focusing and sharp results make this a go to lens for many situations. Nice bokeh on wide open shots, as well.

Great lens to compliment my D810. Avoid using the lens hood since it seemed to introduce vignetting.

Like many, when I made the jump to full frame from DX I needed to update my lens collection. My go to lens on DX was a 24mm F2.8 which gave a 35mm equivalent focal length. This was the logical choice to fill that niche. I'm glad I got this (even if mine was used) because it has become the most used lens in my entire kit. I'm a big fan of the 35mm focal length for general purpose use, and this does a great job. Wide open it's still surprisingly sharp, and when stopped to f2.8 (which is what I used to be limited to anyway) it gets even better. In my experience the sweet spot for sharpness is around F5, but the difference is subtle enough to not be noticed if you aren't looking for it. If you don't need telephoto and are looking for a great lens for walking around, I highly suggest this one.

Very good lens for everyday photography
By Haruna
This lens is very sharp, create beautiful background blur and is outstanding when shooting in low light. It works perfect for me to shoot pictures in a bar at late night, at such situation, it works way better than my 16-35F4, highly recommend if you need a small, lightweight lens for everyday photography, especially in low light.
Excellent lens for availble light images

Most of my work is photojournalism. I just received this lens and ran it through the paces and made comparison images with my Nikkor AF-S 17-35 2.8 ED lens with each lens at 2.8, high and low ISO. In my opinion the resulting images were excellent. On a job I used it exclusively for a number of shots. The work was shot wide open and down to f4, all excellent images. Lightweight, quiet and spot on focus. I have always found a 35mm lens to be pretty much perfect as a "normal" lens.
